  • Browser Interface Questions
Q: When I come to your site, how come I have to login with my Account ID and password everytime?
You don't. Go ahead and login and then set a Bookmark or Favorite AFTER logging into your league home page. You should then be able to access that bookmark and get into your league directly.
Q: I am looking at a page that I know has incorrect or old data. I am sure that this page is not right -- it looks like it has information from days ago. What is wrong?
You are most likely looking at a cached version of the page from your browser. To save time and processing, browsers typically "store up" or cache web pages, so that you do not have to go to the server to get them. Unfortunately, this should not happen if you are trying to access one of our pages (we dynamically generate each web page), but many browsers will ingore that fact and instead show you its old page. To fix this in IE try the following:
    • Bring up the page that is "old" or "stale". After that press and hold the CTRL key. While holding the CTRL key down, press the F5 key. Note: You must go to the stale page first, simply going www.rtsports.com will NOT work.
    • Bring up the page that is "old" or "stale". After that press and hold the SHIFT key. While holding the SHIFT key down, use the mouse to click on the Refresh icon at the top of the browser. Note: You must go to the stale page first, simply going www.rtsports.com will NOT work.
    • Open IE and select 'Tools' -> 'Internet Options' from the menu. Then in the popup go to the 'General' tab. In the section marked 'Temporary Internet Files', click on the 'Delete Files' button. Then go to the stale page.
The one of the first 2 options should clear it up temporarily. Option 3 might clear it up temporarily.
To more permanently prevent the problem, we strongly recommend:
    • Open IE and select 'Tools' -> 'Internet Options' from the menu. Then in the popup go to the 'General' tab. In the section marked 'Temporary Internet Files', click on the 'Settings' button. In the new pop-up choose 'Every visit to the page'. Then click OK.

Q: Your site says my browser needs to have Javascript enabled. How do I do that?

    5. Under Scripting category check Active Scripting, Allow paste options via script and Scripting of Java applets
    6. Check radio boxes.
    7. Click OK twice to close out.

    Internet Explorer on a Mac:

    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. From the menu bar, choose Edit > Preferences

Q: When I access the site I keep getting all kinds of popup ads. I thought you guys didn't have popup ads on your site, I saw enough of them at CBS's site, what gives?
We do NOT have popup ads on our site. Chances are you have one of the browser parasite programs installed on your computer that generate popup ads based on your browsing habits. Please go to Browser Parasite Check  for more information.
To rid yourself of this spyware/adware try one or both of these free tools:
Q: I tried to download the data from one of the Top Player reports but it didn't format correctly when Excel opened, what's wrong?
If you are using Internet Explorer V5.01, V5.5 or V6, there is a known problem with the download file functionality.
If you do not have the latest browser patch installed, this could be your problem.
Please go to Microsoft Security Bulletin MS02-023  for more information.

Q: When trying to login I get the following error:
    Your session has expired.
Your login session has expired. Please login again.
    Login here: www.rtsports.com

    What is wrong?
This error results when browser Cookies are not enabled. Be sure that Cookies are enabled for your specific browser. For more information on browser requirements be sure to check our browser requirements page.

Q: When trying to login I get the following error:
    Session cookie is missing.
    What is wrong?
This error can result when browser Cookies are not enabled OR your computer system clock is not set correctly.
Be sure that Cookies are enabled for your specific browser AND that your computer system clock is set to the correct date and time. For more information on browser requirements be sure to check our browser requirements page.

Q: Speaking of browser cookies, what exactly are they?
A cookie is a packet of information sent by a server to a World Wide Web browser and then sent back by the browser each time it accesses that server. Typically cookies are used to authenticate or identify a registered user of a web site.
Note: To make sure cookies are enabled for our site in the Internet Explorer browser go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy -> Edit... and Add www.rtsports.com to the list of sites to Allow.
Q: Can I access my team's scores from my mobile phone?
Yes. We provide a URL for accessing your league scoreboard and player scores from a mobile device such as a phone. You must use your RealTime Fantasy Sports personal account to log into the mobile site. Enter the following URL into your cellphone:

    http://mobile.rtsports.com

Q: I like your reports and summaries, but is very difficult for me to see the entire report without having to scroll all over with my browser. Is there any way to fit your pages on one screen?
Our reports and summaries are designed to provide as much pertinent information as possible. There are two ways to fit more of the pages on your screen. First, if your monitor is at least 15" wide, your resolution should be at least 800X600 (you can adjust this using the "Display" option in your control panel). Larger screens -- such as 17" monitors -- can be adjusted to 1024X768 without much eyesore. Second, you can adjust the default fonts for your browser to a smaller point setting (this can be set from the options menu of the browser). Smaller fonts allow for more data to be seen on the screen. We strongly recommend a monitor setting of at least 1024X768. In addition, we now provide Adobe Acrobat versions (pdf) of our reports that provide better viewing and printing options. You can obtain a free version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader here.

Q: How do I select more than one item from different locations in a single list box?
If you are using any of the Windows operating systems (95/98/ME/2000/XP), hold down the control ("Ctrl") key while clicking with your mouse. Be sure to not let go of that key, or all of your previous selections will be lost and only your current selection will be highlighted. If you are using a Macintosh, use the Command key instead of the control key.

Q: What is a "URL", and how do I use it for my league or team logo?
A Uniform Resource Locator (or URL) is the location of a page, image, or program on the internet. It usually consists of the syntax, "http://www.something.com/...." If you see an image on a web page that you would like to use for your logo, enter the URL of that image and our system will pull it off of the specified page and display it for you. As an example, try entering the URL http://www.rtsports.com/img/smalllogo.jpg for one of your team's logo, then look at the roster for that team. If you have an image you would like to use but it is not on a web page, you can automatically upload it to our server and we will display it for you. If you have the correct browser, you should see a "Browse..." button. Select this button and it will open a window for you to choose a file from your local machine. This file will then be included with your form and set to us. NOTE: This file must a GIF or JPEG format file (they usually have a .GIF, .JPEG, or .JPG extension.) Also, file sizes may not exceed 40000 bytes.

Q: What if I do not have a "Browse..." button on my screen?
Chances are you do not have a browser capable of uploading files. We strongly recommend using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 (or higher), Netscape 6.0 (or higher), or AOL 7.0 (or higher). For more information be sure to check our browser requirements page.

Q: When I make a post on my league message board, is there a way to include a link to another site or a link to an image?
Yes, when creating your post you will need to include the correct HTML for a link or image tag:
A site link tag would look like this: <a href="URL">Link Text</a>
An image link would look like this: <img src="URL"></img>
where URL = a fully qualified link to the site or image file, e.g. http://www.rtsports.com.
Remember, it has to be a link to a site or file on the Internet, not a link to a local file on your hard drive. See our FAQ entry titled "What is a "URL", and how do I use it for my league or team logo?"

    Personal Account Questions
    Q:What is a personal account?
An RTSports Personal Account allows you to access all of your accounts (any RTSports leagues, King Of The Mountain Contests, Forums, etc.) from a single account ID and password. Your personal account ID can be any e-mail address.

Q:What are the advantages of having a personal account versus just using my league account ID and password?
Currently, if a user is in more than 1 fantasy football league, has more than one King Of The Mountain entry, a forum ID, etc. then a different account ID and password is required to access each product. Instead, as stated above, only one RTSports Personal Account ID and password is required to access all of your RTSports leagues and contests. No more having to memorize several account IDs and passwords. Also, currently the commissioner is the only one who could change an owner's password should that owner forget their password. With personal accounts the account owner now can request to have the forgotten password sent to his e-mail address (by first answering a pre-defined security question.) The commissioner no longer has to worry about resetting passwords for the forgetful owners.

Q:Can I change the league password for the commissioner or owner? What about the league account ID? Can the commissioner change it?
Not any more. Since all users will soon be required to have a personal account to access any league or game in our system, there is no reason to set or change league passwords for any member of your league. Similarly, since users will be accessing the site using their own personal account ID, there is no reason to maintain or change league account IDs. They, too, will soon become obsolete.

Q:But what happens if an owner cannot remember their league password? How can they access the league if the commissioner cannot reset their league password?
Instead of resetting their league password, the commissioner instead invites the user to access the league using a personal account. The invitation section is in the Team->Modify Info page, which is the same page the commissioner used to reset the owner password. Once an invitation is sent to the user, he/she will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to set up an RTSports personal account and add the given team to it. The owner will now access the team using the personal account, making the league account ID/password access method unnecessary. The same process also holds true for commissioners, in the Commissioner -> My Info page.

Q:What about new teams? When I add a new team to my league, will they get an invitation?
Yes. When a new team is added to a league an invitation is automatcially sent to that team's owner, using the primary e-mail address the commissioner entered for that team. That owner can then access the league by using his invitation and either creating a new personal account or tying the team to an existing personal account.

Q:What if I do not supply a primary e-mail address to the new team? What happens then?
If you do not supply a primary e-mail address to the new team, that owner will not receive an invitation and will not be able to gain access to that team. Therefore only the commissioner will be able to access that team, but do not worry -- the commissioner can always invite the owner at a later time using the Team->Modify Info page (see above.)

Q:OK, I have a personal account and I have it tied to a team in one of my leagues. How do I include a different team from another league to that account? I am also the commissioner in that league, how do I tie the commissioner access to my RTSports Personal Account?
Log into the league in question using your league account ID and password. If you logged in as commissioner, go to the Commissioner->My Info page; otherwise, if you logged in as an owner, go to the Team->My Info page. On that page you will notice a section where you can invite users to have access to that team/commissioner in that league. Type in the e-mail address of your RTSports Personal Account and select the 'Invite' button. The system will send an invitation to that e-mail with a link included. That link will send you to a page where you simply enter your RTSports Personal Account password and that team/commissioner access will be added to the personal account associated with that e-mail address. You are then good to go! You can do this for any number of leagues you desire.

    League Setup Questions
Q: I am the commissioner for my league. How do I set everything up and give the team owners in my league access to the site?
Upon registering your league you either created a RTSports Personal account or you registered the league under an existing personal account. By default, you are the commissioner of the newly-created league and can access that league as commissioner by logging into your RTSports account. This allows you to perform commissioner duties such as adding teams, setting up scoring rules, creating a schedule, etc. To get started login at www.rtsports.com and enter your personal account ID (which will be an e-mail address) and your personal account password. The initial time you access your league as commissioner you will need to complete some information in the setup wizard (Commissioner -> Manage League -> Parameters section) such as your league name, length of season, etc. In addition you can use the Quick Setup section to setup a representative league with a set of scoring rules and default parameters for length of season, roster size, owner privileges, etc. You should look at all the sections on the Commissioner -> Manage League -> Parameters page and make sure they are setup the way you want them to be for your league. At this point you are ready to add the teams in your league via the Commissioner -> Manage League -> Teams section. In this step you will be asked to enter a valid e-mail address for each new team. The system will send automatically send an e-mail to each team owner, inviting them to join your league. When they select the link in the e-mail, the system will ask the user to add the new team to their personal account (if the user does not have a RTSports personal account the system will provide links for the user to get set up with one.) Once the user has added his/her team to their personal account they -- like the commissioner -- will login at www.rtports.com using their personal account ID and password to access their team.

NOTE: If you do not provide a valid e-mail address when setting up a new team then you, acting as commissioner, will be the only one able to modify an information regarding that team. The commissioner can always invite any number of individuals to access a team at any time from the Teams->Modify Info menu.

Remember, Commissioner access is only for administrative functions, so you will need to create a team for yourself as well. At this point you are ready to add players to the team rosters and create a schedule for your league. See our other FAQ entries on those subjects.
Note: When initially completing the setup wizard pages you MUST select the "Next" arrow at the bottom of the page to save the information.

Q: Okay, I have my league all set up, how do I make a schedule?
To create a schedule, login with the Commissioner password and go to the Commissioner -> Manage League -> Schedules section. Here you can create an initial schedule for your league, complete with double headers if desired. We can generate a schedule for you or you can manually input one. To change an existing schedule, use the Commissioner -> Manage League -> Schedules -> Schedule -> Edit page.

Q: What about scheduling playoff weeks? How does that work?
Since you do not know which teams will be in the playoffs in advance, you can leave those weeks of your schedule alone until the playoff weeks arrive. You can then enter the teams which advance to the playoffs into your schedule via the Commissioner -> Manage League -> Schedules -> Schedule -> Edit page.
Q: Our league is setup to break a tie in the standings first with the team's Head-to-Head records. How does that work if more than 2 teams are tied?
The software calculates the winning percentage of the teams that are tied ONLY in games that they played against each other and uses this as the head-to-head tie breaker for more than 2 teams. A team that has not played the other tied teams (having a record of 0-0) has, by default, a .500 record. So, if 3 teams are tied and their records against each other are, respectively, 2-1, 0-0, and 1-2, the 2-1 (.667) team is first in the standings, the 0-0 (.500) team is second and the 1-2 (.333) team is third.

Q: How much does your service cost?
Our prices can be found here: Pricing

Q: I uploaded the graphic for my team's logo, but it looks terrible. How do I delete it?
Two ways: First, you can simply go to the Teams ->My Information page and upload another logo, overwriting the existing one. Otherwise, if you do not want a logo at all, simply select the Delete button next to your logo.

Q: Why can't we set any transaction deadlines between midnight on Monday and 7 a.m. Eastern on Tuesdays?
That is the time we roll all the leagues to the next FFL week and no roster moves are permitted during this timeframe.

    Live Draft Questions
Q: How does your live draft software work?
If you wish to perform your draft online with us, the commissioner will initially set up the draft parameters (i.e. when does it start, the style of the draft, how much time each team has to draft, etc.) Once the draft is set up, each owner can launch the draft board via the League -> Draft page and participate in the draft. Once it is their turn they will be able to select the player they want and the draft will move to the next person. In case of technical difficulties the commissioner has power to select a player for any team, or simply pause the draft. If you wish to start over from scratch, the commissioner can always drop all of the players from the team, reset the start time of the draft, and you can do it again. Please keep in mind that several factors can cause the draft to run "rough", most of which are not our fault. Thus the commissioner should allot enough time for the owners to be able to make picks with the possible inturruptions, or be ready to pause the draft at any moment (or the commissioner could state that the owners have as much time as they want to make a pick.)

Q: If I am the league commissioner, how do I setup the Live Draft?
    1. Go to the Commissioner -> Manage League -> Draft -> Edit page and answer the following questions:

When will your draft start? Remember, this time is Eastern Time.
Do you want the system to automatically start the draft at your start time?

No -- The commissioner will manually start the draft sometime after the designated start time.
Yes -- Start the draft automatically at the designated start time.
Will there be a time limit on each team? You can setup no time limit for your owners to make a pick, or you can specify a time limit as small as 2 minutes. In addition you can determine the consequences of missing a pick.
How many rounds will your draft last? Set the number of rounds your draft will last here.
What type of draft will this be? Straight (1-N, 1-N, 1-N... each round) or S-Style (1-N, N-1, 1-N... alternating each round) You must then input your initial draft order or put in a random order if desired. If you have a custom draft order for each round, you will still need to input a draft order here. The League-> Draft page will allow you to input a custom draft order for each round if desired.

After completing these questions, press the Submit Rules button.

Note: Selecting the Commissioner -> Manage League -> Draft -> Delete link will completely erase your draft information as if it was never entered in the first place. If you have already completed your draft it will erase the final Draft Tracker results that show which players were drafted by each team. However, your rosters will stay intact.

Note: If you use our Platinum service and have the option to have "The same NFL player be on multiple Fantasy Football League rosters only if they are in different conferences", then you will be able to setup seperate drafts for each of your conferences. At the top of the page will be a Conference selection option.

Note: If you use our Platinum service and have setup seperate drafts for your conferences, you will need to setup seperate draft orders for each of them. At the top of the page will be a Conference selection option.

    2. Go to the League -> Draft page. At the top of the page you will see a countdown timer showing the time remaining until your draft starts as well as the team first up once your draft begins. If you need to modify the draft order for any of the rounds, use the Update button. A seperate window will appear with controls allowing you to modify the draft order for any of the rounds. Clicking the PDF link will display a PDF file with the draft order for each round.

Once your draft begins, the stoplight at the top of the page will turn green and become an active control allowing you to Pause and Resume your draft at will. In addition, the countdown timer now reflects the amount of time left for the team on the clock to make their pick. To make a pick for a particular owner you can use the MAKE PICK! button. A seperate window will appear with controls for adding players to the roster as well as a display of the owner's Pre-Draft List for reference.

Prior to the draft begin time, each of the team owners participating in the live draft will need to login to the web site and access the League -> Draft page. When it is their turn to be on the clock, they will get access to the MAKE PICK! button and will be able to add a player to their roster. If any of your owners are using the Auto-Picker mode, their picks will be made automatically based on their Draft Cheatsheet.

Once your draft is finished the stoplight at the top of the page will be red showing the draft is completed. Clicking the PDF link will display a PDF file with the final draft results.

Note: If you use our Platinum service and have setup seperate drafts for your conferences, then you will be able to switch between them using the conference selector at the top of the page.
Q: Do you have an auto-draft capability in case I can not be present for our league draft?
Yes! Go to your Team -> Draft Cheatsheet page. You will need to setup a "cheatsheet" of players to draft from and rank them accordingly. You can set it up yourself or pre-load it based on the RTSports Draft Guide player rankings. You can then setup the Auto-Pick mode with the following options:
    • Off. Turn the auto-picker off. The user must select his/her players from the live draft board manually. If the league has a constraint on the time to make a pick, the user must select the desired player before the time is up or the selection will be skipped.

    • Instant. Allow the auto-picker to select the next player from your draft cheatsheet as soon as it is your turn to pick. The user will not be manually making a pick in this instance, so fill out your draft cheatsheet wisely! Two important notes about this mode:
      1. If your draft is running, you are currently up in the draft order, and you select "INSTANT", the system will IMMEDIATELY make a pick for your team. Be sure to know the current state of your draft before you change to this mode.
      2. If, for any reason, your cheatsheet is invalid (all of the players on the list have been taken, selecting any of the remaining players on your list will violate roster compositions or salary cap limits, etc.) your turn will NOT be skipped, rather you will still be on the clock and your auto-pick mode will automatically be shut off.

    • Fail-Safe. Not available if your draft does not have a time limit for selections. Allow the auto-picker to select the next player from my draft cheatsheet only if I did not make a selection within the time limit for my draft. Fail-Safe mode is used when you believe you may not be able to get your pick in on time (due to internet connectivity problems, for example) and you do not want your turn to be skipped. If, for any reason, your cheatsheet is invalid (all of the players on the list have been taken, selecting any of the remaining players on your list will violate roster compositions or salary cap limits, etc.) your turn WILL be skipped, as your time has expired and a pick could not be made for you.

See the Help link on the Team -> Draft Cheatsheet page for more specific information.

Q: Can I change the interval between picks while my live draft is going?
No. Yes. You need to do the following:
    1. Pause your draft.
    2. Go to the draft setup page and change the time between picks. NOTE: You will also have to change the start time to some time in the future, but that is OK...the draft will resume at that time where it left off, but now with the new time interval.

Q: Do I have to use the live draft to enter the initial rosters for my teams?
No. The live draft utility is not necessary. If you wish to hold the draft on your own and then enter the players on your teams later you can simply use the Teams -> Add/Drop page to place all the players on each team's roster one team at a time.

Q: I have a number of keeper players that I want my team owners to have on their rosters prior to the live draft. What do I do?

Prior to your live draft you can simply use the Teams -> Add/Drop page to place the keeper players on each team's roster one team at a time.

Q: When I select the League -> Live Draft link from the menu nothing happens. What is up with that?
Sounds like you have either pop-up blocker or ad blocker software installed with your browser. You will need to reconfigure or disable this software in order to allow the draft window to open.

    Rosters/Lineup Questions
Q: We conducted a manual draft, how do I enter the initial rosters for my teams?
You need to use the Teams -> Add/Drop page to place all the players on each team's roster one team at a time.

Q: I am using the Teams -> Add/Drop page and keep getting errors about not having enough players selected for a particular position. What gives?
You may not make roster changes such that you will wind up with more players on the roster than is specified in your rules or if your min/max players at a position is violated. If you attempt to do so an error message will appear. The "Roster Status" area at the top of the page shows the min, max, current and remaining roster totals at each position. If you are having trouble adding players, remember, all your min and max player totals are checked when the Modify Roster button is pressed. You may need to select more than one player from a particular position as well as players from more than one position (use the position selection at the top of the Available player list) before pressing the Modify Roster button.

Q: There is a certain player missing from the roster lists. Will he be added? If so, when?
We receive our player listing from the Associated Press. The listing is sent Wednesday and Friday nights beginning immediately before the start of the season, and as soon as we get an update from the AP we immediately apply it to our listing. The Associated Press will not include players unless they are on an active roster.

Q: I am a team owner and I do not see where I can enter my starting lineups or change my roster. What is wrong?
When the commissioner registers your league, he states whether or not the team owners may preform transactions or starting lineup changes. If he entered that only the commissioner may perform these functions, then the owners will not be able to see the proper links to perform these actions. The commissioner must modify the league's registration to for the owners to see these links on their page.

Q: There is an NFL game this Thursday night. Can we allow our owners to change their lineup after the Thursday night game, but not allow them to change the lineup status for the Thursday player once the game has started?
YES. Just set your starting lineup deadline time to Sunday. The system will NEVER allow an owner to change the starting lineup status for a player whose game has already started. In fact, you can set the deadline time to Monday night at 11:00 PM if you like -- the owners would then be able to swap one player whose game starts Sunday at 4:00 ET for another starting at the same time up to 4:00 ET Sunday if they desire!

Q: What happens if I fail to get in a lineup before the NFL games start?
The commissioner of your league has full power to change anything -- lineups, transactions, even rules -- at any time in your season, even weeks after the games have been played. If he changes something that affects games already played the system will automatically make the corrections the next time a report is displayed.

Q: What is the "Tie-Breaker" column for in the starting lineups page?
Each team may select players they wish to use as tie-breakers in case their game ends in a tie. These players points will be calculated (but not added to the season total -- unless they are starters) in case the game ends in a tie. The team with more tie-breaker points wins the tie. The system does not care who or how many tie-breakers are chosen, so it is up to the commissioner to ensure that each team has the correct number of tie-breakers.

Q: Our league does not differentiate between WRs and TEs. We are allowed to start 3 receivers, regardless of there being a TE or WR. How do we enter this for our league?
Go to the Commissioner -> Manage League -> Rosters -> Starting Lineup Composition area. page. First, enter the total number of players to start on each team. Next, in the slots for number of wide receivers and tight ends, enter 0 for the minimum number of starters and 3 for the maximum number of starters. This will allow your league to start up to 3 WRs or TEs. Note that they cannot start 3 players at BOTH positions, or else they would exceed the total number of players entered at the top of the form.

    Salary Cap Questions
Q: How does your Salary Cap system work?
If, in your league setup, your commissioner decides to use our Salary Cap functionality, he/she will be able to assign a cap limit for your teams, as well as give cap values for every NFL player.

    Assigning Cap Values
Attempting to assign a cap value to the over 1000 players in our database could be very tedious. To help out the commissioner, you can assign a "default" value for each position. If a specific cap value is not given to a player, then the default for that player's position is assigned.

Cap values are counted against the team's limit as each team adds corresponding players to their roster. Once a player is on a team's roster, the player's salary is "frozen" for that team. In other words, once a team has a player the commissioner cannot alter that team's salary amount by changing that player's the cap value. If the team drops and then re-acquires the player the new salary cap value will then be applied.

    Scoring Rules Questions
Q: How does total points allowed by a defense work?
Total points allowed is the number points a team allows their opponent to score. Leagues have the option of only counting points allowed when the defense is on the field, however.

Points that always count against a defensive team:
    • Fieldgoals of ANY length for ANY reason.
    • Touchdowns, and accompanying extra point or 2-point conversion, of ANY length if scored by the opposing offense.
    • IF a league uses combined defense and special teams, punt returns, kickoff returns, blocked punts, and blocked fieldgoals for touchdowns, and accompanying extra points or 2-point conversions.
If "Do NOT count points against the Defense if that team is NOT on the field at the time of the score." is checked, the following points do NOT count against a defensive team:
    • Interception return for touchdown and and accompanying extra point or 2-point conversion.
    • Fumble return for touchdown and and accompanying extra point or 2-point conversion.
    • ANY safety for ANY reason.
    • IF a league uses separate defense and special teams, punt returns, kickoff returns, blocked punts, and blocked fieldgoals for touchdowns, and accompanying extra points or 2-point conversions.

Q: The Standings page has a link to something called Power Rankings, what is that?
The power rankings is just a report that ranks the teams in a league according to which is *probably* the "Best" team in the league right now, down to which team is *probably* the "Worst" team in the league right now. That determination is made using a number of factors including wins, rosters, and recent success. The exact method is proprietary. Since it is an arbitrary formula, teams can discuss and debate it in their leagues.
A league's power ranking of fantasy teams is not to be confused with The Paur Report which is a ongoing series of original fantasy content articles written by Jeff Paur.

    Trades/Transactions Questions
Q: What are protected free agents?
A league commissioner can choose to use protected free agents in his league. To use protected free agents commissioners should go to the Commissioner -> Manage League menu option and select owner privileges. If a league uses a first-come, first-served free agent free-for-all or a waiver wire followed by a free-for-all, then protected free agents are an option.

A protected free agent is a free agent player that has just been dropped or released by a team in the league and has not cleared the protected time set by the commissioner. The commissioner can specify a particular number of days to protect a free agent (1 to 90) or he can opt to protect "Until beginning of the next FFL week". In addition he can protect "Until end of season" to help prevent collusion, etc. at playoff time. Leagues using a waiver wire can also select "Until the next Waiver Wire" as the availability time of newly released free agents.

For example, my league has a 2 day protective period to prevent collusion. If I release a player at noon on Tuesday, other owners will not be allowed to pick him up until noon on Thursday.

How do you know if a player is protected? A list of currently protected players will be displayed on your Add/Drop page where you pick up free agents. Team owners will not be given the ability to acquire players while protected. Commissioners, as always, can put any player on any team at any time. Don't for get there is a report that shows all adds and drops where commissioners and owners can check transactions if you have questions about when a player was dropped or added.

    Q: How are trades performed?
Your commissioner can state that the owners may propose trades or that only the commissioner may perform a trade in your league.

When the commissioner enters a trade for 2 teams, the transaction takes place immediately and is final. Owners, on the other hand, only "propose" trades to other owners. At that point an automatic email is sent to the other owner detailing the trade proposal. The other owner, in turn, may accept or reject the trade proposal. Accepting a trade performs the transaction for both teams, finalizing the trade. Commissioners cannot propose a trade for a team, but may reject any trade proposal. Remember, too, that the commissioner has the power to nullify any trade by placing the players back on their original roster.

Q: There was a trade proposed to me, but now it is gone. What happened?
The team proposing the trade performed an action that made the trade offer obsolete. For example, suppose team A proposed Jeff Garcia to teams B and C. Team B accepts the trade offer first. This makes the proposal with team C void, so the system automatically deletes that trade offer. Similarly, BOTH trade offers would be removed if team A simply released Jeff Garcia from his roster.

    Waiver Wire Questions
Q: How does your free agent waiver wire work?
The waiver wire has 6 different modes of operation. Leagues may choose the one that most suits their needs. Leagues can switch modes at any time. Each mode is explained below.

    Worst to First by Standings.
Players will be awarded in reverse standings order. The team with the worst win-loss record will be awarded a player first, if one is requested. Then the team with the second worst overall win-loss record will be awarded a player, if one is requested. This continues until the team with the best overall win-loss record is awarded a player. Then round 2 of the waiver begins and the team with the worst win-loss record is awarded a second player, if requested, and so on. Each team will be awarded one player and only one player per round of the waiver wire. If a team requests no players that team will simply be skipped. Awards continue until all waiver wire request lists have been processed or all teams have been awarded the maximum number of players allowed in a waiver wire by league rules.

Worst to First by Total Points Scored.
Players will be awarded in reverse order of total points scored for the season. The team with the fewest total points scored will be awarded a player first, if one is requested. Then the team with the second fewest total points scored will be awarded a player, if one is requested. This continues until the team with the most total points scored is awarded a player. Then round 2 of the waiver begins and the team with the fewest total points scored is awarded a second player, if requested, and so on. Each team will be awarded one player and only one player per round of the waiver wire. If a team requests no players that team will simply be skipped. Awards continue until all waiver wire request lists have been processed or all teams have been awarded the maximum number of players allowed in a waiver wire by league rules.

    Commissioner Will Determine the Order.
Players will be awarded in order as determined by the commissioner. The commissioner must set a waiver wire award order before the waiver wire deadline or no players will be awarded. Once the commissioner sets the order it will not be automatically changed by the system at any time. The commissioner may change the waiver wire award order at any time, except while players are being awarded. Any changes to the order will affect the next waiver wire.

Blind Bidding Against Team's Salary Cap.
Only available if salary cap option is used.
Each team owner may submit a blind bid for any available free agent. This bid will establish the salary of that player should that player be awarded to the team. This salary will be established regardless of any default or free agent salary set for that player by the commissioner. This new bid salary will count against a team's salary cap limit. Should the salary bid put a team over their salary cap limit, that player will not be awarded in the waiver wire. The minimum bid must be the default free agent salary for that player, as set by the commissioner. The question "Reset player salary to default when released?" is answered "Yes", then when a player is release his free agent salary will return default set by the commissioner. If the question is answered "No", then when a player is released they will maintain the winning bid salary as the new free agent salary.

Awarding of free agents begins with the highest bid by any team for a free agent. Once that free agent has been awarded to the winning bidder, all other bids for that free agent are discarded as losing bids. Then the highest remaining bid by any team for any remaining free agent will be considered. That winning bid will be awarded the free agent and all losing bids for that free agent will be discarded. This continues until the lowest valid bid remaining is considered. A team may acquire any number of players provided they remain withing the maximum number of players allowed per waiver wire as set by the commissioner. Bidding ties are broken by awarding the free agent to the first of the tied bids submitted.

Blind Bidding Billed in Team's Fees.
Only available if league fee tracking option is used.
Each team owner may submit a blind bid for any available free agent. Each winning bid will be recorded as a fee against that team in the league's fee tracking. This is generally considered bidding with real money. RealTime Fantasy Sports does not collect payment or manage payment of these fees, fee tracking is provided as a service.

Blind Bidding Against Waiver Wire Cap.
Each team owner may submit a blind bid for any available free agent. Each winning bid will be deducted from a season long bidding cap established by the commissioner. A team owner will no longer be able to bid on free agents once their season long waiver wire cap has been reached. This waiver wire bidding cap is completely separate and distinct from any league fees your league may have in place.

A team may acquire any number of players provided they remain withing the maximum number of players allowed per waiver wire as set by the commissioner and remain within the season long waiver wire bidding cap established by the commissioner. Bidding ties are broken by awarding the free agent to the first of the tied bids submitted.

Q: Our league uses the Waiver Wire only for roster updates but I want to put one of my players on I/R. How do I do that?
An owner CAN put a player on I/R during the Waiver Wire period. Instead of using the Waiver Wire wish list, he just goes to the Team -> Add/Drop page. During the Waiver Wire period his only option will be to put players on or off of I/R. This will free up a roster spot for the addition of players on the wish list.
