Gary Fitzgerald, of Redskins.com, reports Washington Redskins WR Kevin Dyson believes his career will be defined by two distinct moments. The first play was the "Music City Miracle" when Dyson, then playing for the Tennessee Titans, caught a lateral on a kickoff return and raced down the sideline for a game-winning touchdown in a 1999 Wild Card playoff game against the Buffalo Bills. A few weeks later the second play occurred when, with a handful of seconds left in Super Bowl XXXIII, Dyson was stopped one yard short of the goal line on the last play of the game. The stop secured the St. Louis Rams' 23-16 win. "(Those plays are) something that's going to live forever," Dyson said. "Obviously I haven't had a storybook career like Jerry Rice, but my name will go down in history just because I'll never be forgotten from those two plays."

Gary Fitzgerald, of Redskins.com, reports Washington Redskins WR Kevin Dyson expects to come into training camp battling for a backup receiver spot. "Even if you're a backup, you want to be able to prepare yourself like you are a starter," Dyson said. "I've had that mentality my whole career. Competition makes everyone better. [During the June 17-19 mini-camp], I got better every day in practice. And I'm pushing everyone in front of me to get better."
Fantasy Impact: Even if he lands on the roster and earns a backup role, Dyson has little fantasy value.

Updating previous reports, WR Kevin Dyson signed a one-year, $540,000 contract with the Washington Redskins.
Fantasy Impact: Don't count on much from Dyson. He might have a hard time just making the roster.

Joseph White, of the Associated Press, reports Washington Redskins WR Kevin Dyson (knee) suffered a bruised knee at the team's weekend minicamp. The injury does not appear to be serious.
Fantasy Impact: Any setback could hurt Dyson's chances of making the team. That said; he remains a long shot for playing time.

The Redskins signed Dyson on Monday. Dyson has played in just one regular season game since the end of the 2002 season. He has 178 receptions for 2,325 yards in six seasons.
Fantasy Impact: The Redskins are thin at receiver, so Dyson might get a shot at some playing time. But he will have to really impress Washington in training camp. We wouldn't expect much from Dyson after his long layoff.
