Fernando Tatis Jr. Jul 7 4:10pm ET

Known for his relentless motor, San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. could be a primary beneficiary of a shortened season. After a roaring debut in 2019 with a .969 OPS, 22 homers and 16 steals in 84 games, the 21-year-old phenom was shutdown with a lower back injury. That marked his third serious injury in 13 months. Fully healthy, the face of the franchise expects to play daily and Padres leadership confirmed he wont be limited in any capacity. At the lofty ADP of 17, Tatis will need to cash on his uber-high ceiling to reward fantasy investors. But with hard-hit, barrel rate and sprint speed metrics all in the top-20th percentile, the five-category potential is tough to ignore.

Jesus Luzardo Jul 7 3:50pm ET

Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo has tested positive for COVID-19, according to Susan Slusser. Luzardo had been absent from A's camp and will be gone for 14 more days of self-isolation per MLB safety protocol. The flame-throwing lefty is one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball and was supposed to hold down a rotation spot for Oakland this season. This will set him back and it's likely he won't be ready for the start of the season and, when he does pitch, it will likely be as part of a tandem for the first few games. Luzardo was one of the biggest risers in average draft position due to the shortened season with his ADP climbing up to 113th overall. He's not worth taking that high anymore, but he should still be a top-150 overall pick if he tests negative after isolating.

Eduardo Rodriguez Jul 7 2:40pm ET

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez has tested positive for COVID-19, according to multiple sources. Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke said Rodriguez is feeling a lot better but still not feeling 100%. The 27-year-old will remain back home in Miami until he is ready to travel and rejoin the team. (Rodriguez) wants to be ready for Opening Day but well have to see how it goes, Roenicke said on Tuesday. The medical team will follow him, give him instructions basically on how to stay in shape. But it just depends on how long this thing goes, when we can get the negative test from him and when he can come up and join us. Red Sox number three prospect Bobby Dalbec tested positive for COVID-19 as well. With Rodriguez's status uncertain for Opening Day, Nathan Eovaldi likely will start on July 24 against the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park and should be owned across standard fantasy formats.

Gio Gonzalez Jul 7 2:10pm ET

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez (shoulder) said that he has done a lot of physical therapy during the quarantine and feels as if hes around 95%. Gonzalez signed a one-year deal this offseason, but with Michael Kopech (elbow) and Carlos Rodon (elbow) returning from Tommy John surgery, its unclear what his role with the club would be. Gonzalez can be avoided by fantasy owners for now. Gonzalez acknowledged this himself and said that he would like to throw at least one pitch in a White Sox uniform.

Aaron Judge Jul 7 12:50pm ET

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge (rib) is now completely recovered from the stress fracture in his rib and has not felt discomfort when batting against live pitching. Judge should be expected to man right field for the Yankees this season and should be an elite fantasy asset thanks to his impressive contact quality and patient plate approach. Judges xwOBAcon and a walk rate have each ranked among the top five percent of hitters in each of the past three seasons, and the 28-year-old appears set for another strong season.

    From RotoBaller

Juan Soto Jul 7 11:40am ET

Washington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto is currently isolating himself from Nationals Park after coming into contact with a teammate who tested positive for COVID-19. As of now, Soto is not participating in team drills but that is the extent of the situation. We will continue to monitor the situation moving forward.

    From RotoBaller

Freddie Freeman Jul 7 11:30am ET

Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman is starting to feel better after developing COVID-19 symptoms last week. The star infielder is still in quarantine, and he will have to receive a pair of negative tests before joining his teammates. Thankfully, it appears as though Freeman is trending in the right direction. If Freeman can return relatively early on in the season, he remains one of the most well-rounded fantasy hitters in baseball.

Jesus Luzardo Jul 7 12:40am ET

Oakland Athletics starting pitchers Jesus Luzardo and Mike Fiers haven't attended the team's summer-camp workouts yet, but general manager David Forst said he can't say if any players were not cleared to practice on Monday night. Luzardo and Fiers worked out together during the COVID-19 shutdown, but it's unclear if either pitcher has been cleared. It's possible that the results of their tests have been delayed. Luzardo, a 22-year-old left-hander, is the team's top prospect and has tantalizing upside for his ability to miss bats. He shouldn't have any restrictions on his workload in the shortened season, giving him massive upside at his 113 ADP. Fiers, a 35-year-old righty, had a career-high 15 wins in 2019 and an ERA under 4.00, but his FIP of 4.97 and weak 6.1 K/9 in 184 2/3 innings are more indicative of his low fantasy ceiling.

Aaron Judge Jul 6 10:43pm ET

New York Yankees OF Aaron Judge (rib) made it through the team's intrasquad game without incident Monday, July 6, and told reporters afterward that he fully expects to be ready for Opening Day, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.

Kole Calhoun Jul 6 10:33pm ET

Arizona Diamondbacks OF Kole Calhoun (illness) recently tested positive for COVID-19 but is reportedly asymptomatic and 'feeling great,' according to manager Torey Lovullo.

Austin Meadows Jul 6 10:03pm ET

Tampa Bay Rays OF Austin Meadows did not practice with the team Monday, July 6, and has not been on the field since the Rays opened summer workouts on Friday, July 3.

Tyler Glasnow Jul 6 10:03pm ET

Tampa Bay Rays RHPs Yonny Chirinos and Tyler Glasnow, OF Randy Arozarena and 1B/OF Jose Martinez have yet to take part in the team's summer camp as of Monday, July 6, according to MLB.com's Juan Toribio.

Randy Arozarena Jul 6 10:03pm ET

Kole Calhoun Jul 6 10:00pm ET

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Kole Calhoun has tested positive for COVID-19, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Calhoun is asymptomatic and is feeling great, however. The 32-year-old must return two negative tests in order to join the team's workouts at Chase Field. He had a career-high 33 home runs and 74 RBI in his final season with the Angels in 2019, but Calhoun also hit just .232/.325/.467. There's a chance he might not be ready for the start of the regular season. If that were to happen, Tim Locastro and Josh Rojas could platoon in right field. Calhoun is strictly a power option late in mixed league drafts, and he also struggles against left-handed pitchers.

    From RotoBaller

David Peralta Jul 6 9:53pm ET

Arizona Diamondbacks OF David Peralta and RP Kevin Ginkel were both spotted at the team's summer camp for the first time on Monday, July 6.

Dustin May Jul 6 9:53pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers RHP Dustin May told MLB.com's Ken Gurnick that he expects to be stretched out so that he is able to go five innings by the start of the season in late July.

Yoan Moncada Jul 6 9:43pm ET

Chicago White Sox 3B Yoan Moncada has not participated in any of the team's first four workouts and is the only regular position player who was not on the field Monday, July 6, according to the Chicago Sun-Times' Daryl Van Schouwen. However, manager Rick Renteria declined comment when asked specifically about Moncada's absence on Monday, only saying that he was 'holding (Moncada) out right now.'
