    Ke'Bryan Hayes Jul 24 1:30pm ET

Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes went 1-for-5 with a run scored in a 6-4 win over the Giants on Friday night. It was the sixth time in seven games since the All-Star break that Hayes has recorded at least one hit, however he has not gotten an extra-base hit during this span. This has continued a trend of declining power that Hayes has exhibited this season, as he only has eight extra-base hits seven doubles and one home run over 137 plate appearances in his last 34 games. Now on one hand this should not be too surprising, as last season's .682 slugging percentage over 24 games was an anomaly when compared to his career .401 slugging percentage in the minor leagues. Regardless, it's still been a disappointment for managers who were hoping for a breakout year from the rookie third baseman. His .239 xBA and .372 xSLG suggest that he's gotten lucky with his .270 average and .415 SLG this year, so managers may want to consider trying to flip him for whatever they can get before the trade deadline.

Seth Lugo Jul 24 1:20pm ET

New York Mets relief pitcher Seth Lugo recorded his seventh hold of the season Friday, allowing no runs on one hit while striking out one in one inning of work against the Toronto Blue Jays. This is Lugo's second straight scoreless outing after allowing six runs in the two appearances prior. Despite the recent hiccups, Lugo remains one of the top relievers in the game and is a must-have in fantasy formats that reward holds. He has a 4.50 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, 25 strikeouts, and one save in 20 innings across 19 appearances this year

Adam Frazier Jul 24 1:20pm ET

Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Adam Frazier was hitless in the Pirates win on Friday, finishing 0-for-4 with a walk, one RBI and a run scored in a 6-4 victory over the Giants. While he's still posting a .324 average over 18 games in July, his on-base percentage (.368) and slugging percentage (.366) have both taken a tumble from his performance in June where he recorded a .402 OBP and .469 SLG over 26 games. This isn't necessarily anything alarming for fantasy managers, however it is something to keep an eye on going forward. While the OBP and SLG may be ticking down right now, Frazier will still provide plenty of value in average and runs scored.

Daniel Bard Jul 24 1:20pm ET

Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Daniel Bard blew the save but got the win on Friday when he allowed one run on two hits with two walks and three strikeouts over one inning in a 9-6 extra-innings win over the Dodgers. This was a back-and-forth contest between the Rockies and the Dodgers. Sam Hilliard smacked a solo home run in the top half of the ninth inning to give Colorado a 6-5 lead so Bard was tasked with maintaining that in the bottom half of the frame. He struggled out the gate, however, allowing the first four base-runners to reach with a pair of singles and a pair of walks. The final free pass sent a runner home so he was charged with a blown save. Bard then punched out the final three batters he faced and the Rockies retook the lead in the top of the 10th and held on for the victory so he was credited with the win. The veteran reliever now owns a 3.98 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, and 53:2 K/BB ratio over 40 2/3 innings. He's 15-for-21 on save opportunities.

Carson Kelly Jul 24 1:13pm ET

Arizona Diamondbacks C Carson Kelly (wrist) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment in Single-A Hillsboro on Sunday, July 25,.

Chris Sale Jul 24 1:13pm ET

Boston Red Sox LHP Chris Sale's scheduled rehab start Sunday, July 25, in Double-A Portland won't be his final rehab start, Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Saturday.

Trevor May Jul 24 1:10pm ET

New York Mets relief pitcher Trevor May recorded his eighth hold of the year Friday night, throwing a clean inning with two strikeouts against the Toronto Blue Jays in a 3-0 victory. May has given up earned runs in just one of his last 15 games, with a 1.23 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings in that span. Closer Edwin Diaz has faltered of late, and May would be the main beneficiary should a change eventually be made, but that does not appear imminent. For now, he's only a fantasy option in leagues that reward holds.

David Peterson Jul 24 1:03pm ET

New York Mets RHP David Peterson (oblique) on Saturday, July 24, was transferred to the 60-day injured list.

Shed Long Jr. Jul 24 1:00pm ET

Seattle Mariners utility man Shed Long Jr. reached base twice against the Oakland Athletics Friday, going 0-for-2 with two walks, and he took advantage by swiping his first base of the season. Long Jr. was expected to provide a bit of speed and a bit of pop, but it's taken him 108 plate appearances this year to get on the board in the speed department. With just four homers and a .601 OPS on the year, Long Jr. should not be on fantasy rosters.

Phillips Valdez Jul 24 1:00pm ET

Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Phillips Valdez was forced into early action Friday after Eduardo Rodriguez left with migraine symptoms, and he came through in a big way, throwing three shutout innings allowing only one hit and one walk while striking out seven New York Yankees. Valdez has just one save and two holds in 21 appearances on the season, but this performance displays that he would become much more interesting if he were to inherit a bigger role. For now, he doesn't belong on fantasy rosters.

Mark Payton Jul 24 12:53pm ET

Cincinnati Reds OF Mark Payton on Saturday, July 24, was traded to the New York Mets in exchange for cash.

Luis Torrens Jul 24 12:50pm ET

Seattle Mariners catcher Luis Torrens continued his power binge Friday, smacking his 12th homer of the season as the second half of back-to-back shots off Oakland Athletics starter Frankie Montas. Injuries have opened up plenty of at-bats for Torrens at first base and designated hitter in addition to behind the plate, and he's shown plenty of pop, with 10 of his homers coming in the last 30 games with a .566 slugging percentage in that time. He's a useful play in two-catcher formats.

    From RotoBaller

Nathaniel Lowe Jul 24 12:50pm ET

Texas Rangers first baseman Nate Lowe continues to show that he's an asset to this offense. On Friday, Lowe went 1-for-4 with a triple and two RBI during the 7-3 loss to the Houston Astros. This offense continues to slump, but at least Lowe remains a reliable bat for Texas. He is hitting .253 with 12 home runs and 43 RBI this season. Lowe might not have value in 12-team formats, but can certainly be helpful in mixed leagues and AL-only formats.

    From RotoBaller

Dylan Moore Jul 24 12:50pm ET

Seattle Mariners second baseman Dylan Moore did not start Friday, but he recorded an infield single as a pinch-hitter, and then used his speed to come around to score the game-winning run. Moore stole second base, his 15th of the season, and then advanced twice on Jake Diekman wild pitches to come around to score. The Mariners are known to be seeking out a second base option on the trade market to replace Moore, but games like this show how dynamic he can be. Despite a .638 OPS, Moore has managed to contribute nine homers and those 15 steals to keep him just barely relevant, especially in deeper formats.

Chi Chi Gonzalez Jul 24 12:50pm ET

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez took a no-decision on Friday when he allowed four runs on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts in a 9-6 win over the Dodgers. This was actually one of Gonzalez's better starts over the last month and a half, which shows you how bad he's been. He coughed up three runs in the first and then gave up a solo home run to Justin Turner in the third inning before shutting out the Dodgers over his final two innings of work. The Rockies would come back to retake the lead and eventually win the game so he ended up with a no-decision. The 29-year-old owns a rough 6.06 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 53:24 K/BB ratio over 90 2/3 innings (19 appearances, 15 starts) on the season. He's slated to face the Padres on the road in his next start but you have to wonder how much longer the Rockies will keep throwing him out there given his struggles.

Max Scherzer Jul 24 12:43pm ET

Washington Nationals RHP Max Scherzer is being discussed as as a trade possibility, according to a report Saturday, July 24. The report also notes that Scherzer has a clause in his contract to veto trades.

    Isiah Kiner-Falefa Jul 24 12:40pm ET

Texas Rangers infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa appears to be getting back into his groove at the plate. On Friday, he went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a run scored in the 7-3 loss to the Houston Astros. There is not a whole lot of positive things coming from this Rangers' lineup right now. Kiner-Falefa is a bright spot, hitting .258/.293/.358 with six home runs and 33 RBI. Certainly, worth snagging in plenty of fantasy formats. Probably, a borderline option in 12-team formats, but can certainly help elsewhere.

    From RotoBaller

Kike Hernandez Jul 24 12:30pm ET

Boston Red Sox utility player Kike Hernandez remains in the lineup for Saturday's contest against the New York Yankees. He'll bat leadoff and cover second base versus righty Jameson Taillon. Normally, Hernandez isn't a huge factor with the bat, but that changed this season. Since the All-Star break, Hernandez is hitting .333/.406/.815 with seven extra-base hits, three home runs and eight RBI. He is turning himself into a must-have fantasy option and someone who appears to be a great play for DFS contests on Saturday.

Paul Sewald Jul 24 12:30pm ET

Seattle Mariners relief pitcher Paul Sewald earned his sixth win of the season Friday, throwing 1 1/3 innings and only giving up a walk while striking out three batters. Sewald has carved out a nice role for himself as the primary setup man in Seattle, with seven holds and three saves, and the wins just pump up that value even further, though relief wins are fluky and hard to rely on going forward. With a 2.45 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 51 strikeouts in 29 1/3 innings, Sewald is a worthy add in any format and essential if Kendall Graveman were to be traded.
