Ryan Yarbrough Sep 18 9:10pm ET

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Ryan Yarbrough (8-6) allowed four earned runs on five hits and no walks while striking out four over six innings during Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers. He was tagged with his sixth loss of the season. The southpaw was hurt by the long ball and surrendered home runs to Jeimer Candelario and Dustin Garneau. After a rough first and second inning, Yarbrough bounced back and cruised through the next four frames. The 29-year-old threw 86 pitches, landing 58 for strikes. Yarbrough owns a 5.30 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 110 strikeouts over 144 1/3 innings in 2021. The Rays left-hander is scheduled to face the Miami Marlins at home on Friday.

Manuel Margot Sep 18 9:00pm ET

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Manuel Margot went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk during Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers. He logged his third three-hit effort of the season in Saturday's loss. The 26-year-old is starting to heat up and has recorded a hit in nine of his last 10 games. Margot is slashing .260/.315/.395 with 10 home runs, 56 RBI, 51 runs scored, and 13 stolen bases over 113 games in 2021. The Rays outfielder can be used as a streamer while wielding a hot bat right in time for the fantasy baseball playoffs.

Jordan Luplow Sep 18 8:50pm ET

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jordan Luplow went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers. He blasted a two-run shot off Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal to cut the Rays deficit 4-2. It was his first long ball since September 7. The 27-year-old entered Saturday's game 0-for-7 with four strikeouts over his last three contests. Luplow busted out of his mini-slump with his multi-hit effort on Saturday. Overall, Luplow is slashing .203/.326/.456 with 11 home runs, 28 RBI, 23 runs scored, and one stolen base over 58 games in 2021. Luplow is in a platoon role with Ji-Man Choi and can be used as a streamer in deep-league formats.

Buster Posey Sep 18 7:20pm ET

San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey isn't starting on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves and right-handed pitcher Charlie Morton. Posey is hitting .297 with a .387 on-base percentage and 18 home runs in 406 plate appearances this season. It'll be Curt Casali getting the start behind the plate against Atlanta. You're probably best off looking elsewhere for streaming help at catcher. Casali is hitting .213 with a .315 on-base percentage and five home runs in 217 plate appearances this season. He's hitting seventh on Saturday.

Jake Fraley Sep 18 7:10pm ET

Seattle Mariners outfielder Jake Fraley is on the bench on Saturday. The Mariners will take on the Kansas City Royals and left-handed starter Kris Bubic but will do so without Fraley in the lineup. The outfielder is batting .213 with a .353 on-base percentage, nine home runs, and nine stolen bases in 232 plate appearances this season. Dylan Moore is batting ninth and starting in left field in place of Fraley. The 28-year-old is hitting .174 with a .271 on-base percentage, 12 home runs, and 20 stolen bases in 339 plate appearances this season. Fantasy managers are probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming help.

Omar Narvaez Sep 18 7:00pm ET

Milwaukee Brewers catcher Omar Narvaez isn't in the lineup for a Saturday matchup with the Chicago Cubs and left-handed starter Justin Steele. Narvaez is hitting .281 with a .359 on-base percentage and 11 home runs in 409 plate appearances. Instead, it'll be Manny Pina starting behind the plate and hitting sixth. Pina is batting .192 with a .302 on-base percentage and 10 home runs in 182 plate appearances this season. You're probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming help behind the plate on Saturday.

Austin Nola Sep 18 6:50pm ET

San Diego Padres catcher Austin Nola isn't in Saturday's lineup for a matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals and right-handed starter Adam Wainwright. Nola is hitting .267 with a .339 on-base percentage and a home run in 186 plate appearances this season. He'll head to the bench with Victor Caratini getting the start instead on Saturday. Caratini is batting eighth against Wainwright. In 318 plate appearances this season, the 27-year-old is batting .212 with a .299 on-base percentage, six home runs, and two stolen bases. Fantasy managers are probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming help at catcher.

Eric Hosmer Sep 18 6:50pm ET

San Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer will be on the bench for Saturday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Padres will match up with right-handed starter Adam Wainwright but will do so without Hosmer in the lineup. The veteran is batting .267 with a .335 on-base percentage, 11 home runs, and five stolen bases in 524 plate appearances this season. Jake Cronenworth, who is hitting second on Saturday, is moving over to first base to start in Hosmer's place. Hosmer has started each of the Padres' previous seven games, but his playing time will be worth monitoring for fantasy managers down the stretch if Cronenworth continues to start games at first base.

Carson Kelly Sep 18 6:50pm ET

Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Carson Kelly isn't starting on Saturday against right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. and the Houston Astros. Kelly has provided quality production at the catcher position when healthy this season, especially in leagues where on-base percentage is part of the scoring. In 316 plate appearances for Arizona this year, the 26-year-old is hitting .237 with a .351 on-base percentage and 11 home runs. However, Daulton Varsho is starting on Saturday. Varsho is hitting fifth against McCullers Jr. It's a tough matchup to be sure, but the catcher could be worth a look as a streaming option. Varsho is hitting .237 with a .319 on-base percentage, 10 home runs, and five stolen bases in 252 plate appearances this season.

Luke Voit Sep 18 5:20pm ET

New York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and a walk in Saturday's loss to the Indians. Voit swatted a homer in the eighth inning with the game already out of hand, registering a 105.5 MPH exit velocity on the 403-foot blast. The slugging first baseman has had a quiet September, but has now left the yard twice in the last three games, perhaps a sign of things to come. It's been a disappointing campaign for Voit, who led the majors in homers a year ago.

Ryan Feltner Sep 18 5:13pm ET

Colorado Rockies OF Ryan Vilade had his contract purchased Saturday, Sept. 18, and he will make his major league debut today in left field. Vilade will bat seventh. In a corresponding move, SP Ryan Feltner was optioned to the minor leagues.

Joey Gallo Sep 18 5:10pm ET

New York Yankees outfielder Joey Gallo (neck) left Saturday's game against the Indians early due to injury. Gallo is dealing with neck stiffness, which he received treatment for Friday night. Manager Aaron Boone said that the slugger could "potentially, hopefully," return to the lineup for Sunday's contest. That would be ideal for both the Yankees and fantasy managers, as Gallo has been red-hot at the dish lately, crushing six homers in the past week of play. Look for him to return to action either Sunday against Cleveland or Monday against his former team, the Rangers.

Tanner Rainey Sep 18 5:03pm ET

Washington Nationals RP Tanner Rainey was recalled from the minors Saturday, Sept. 18. In a corresponding move, RP Wander Suero was optioned to the minor leagues.

Luis Gil Sep 18 5:00pm ET

New York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Gil failed to make it to the fifth inning for the third time in his last four starts in Saturday's loss to the Indians. Gil pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on three hits while walking four batters. He struck out six. Gil generated an impressive 13 whiffs, eight of them on his slider, which has been an excellent pitch for him this season. Control issues have popped up lately for the 23-year-old, who has walked a whopping 16 batters in his last four starts. There's no doubting Gil's long-term ability or fantasy value, though it's hard to trust him in redraft leagues down the stretch with his less-than-stellar ratios.

Shogo Akiyama Sep 18 4:50pm ET

The Cincinnati Reds placed outfielder Shogo Akiyama (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list due to a right hamstring strain on Saturday. The 33-year-old is batting .204 with a .282 on-base percentage and a pair of stolen bases in 183 plate appearances this season. Cincinnati also placed fellow outfielder Jesse Winker on the 10-day injured list. The Reds figure to use some combination of Max Schrock, Delino DeShields Jr., Aristides Aquino, and TJ Friedl in the outfield alongside Nick Castellanos with Akiyama and Winker on the injured list.
