Shane Bieber Jun 14 8:20am ET

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Shane Bieber had a tough day Sunday as he allowed five earned runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out eight across 5 2/3 innings pitched in a 6-2 loss to the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners have had Bieber's number as they got to him for three earned runs in his shortest outing of the year back on May 16th. Bieber will look to put this one behind him and will carry a 3.28 ERA with 130 strikeouts in 90 2/3 innings pitched into his next start against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday.

Eddie Rosario Jun 14 8:20am ET

Cleveland Indians outfielder Eddie Rosario went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Seattle Mariners. Rosario is now hitting .308 over the previous two weeks and could be a solid add this summer in leagues where he was dropped prematurely.

Nolan Jones Jun 14 8:00am ET

Cleveland Indians third base prospect Nolan Jones is finally starting to hit at the Triple-A level. He finished Sunday's game 2-for-4 with a double and a home run. The top prospect entered the year with the potential to arrive in the majors by mid-season but he hit just .189 with one home run and 39 strikeouts in May. Over the last six games, he's 8-for-19 (.421) with six doubles, a home run, and a BB-K ratio of 6-5. Jones is traditionally an on-base machine and has never produced a walk rate below 16% in any minor league season. The 23-year-old also has massive raw power but hits too many balls on the ground to fully unleash that home-run potential without some swing adjustments. He finished the 2019 season with 15 homers in 126 games.

Hunter Greene Jun 14 7:50am ET

Cincinnati Reds pitching prospect Hunter Greene has been promoted to Triple-A from Double-A. The hard-throwing right-hander was coming off a dominant outing against fellow top prospect Max Meyer (Marlins) in which he struck out nine batters over six shutout innings and stole the show. Greene has shown very little rusty coming off of two-and-a-half lost seasons due to Tommy John surgery and the pandemic. He leaves Double-A with outstanding numbers in seven starts. He posted a 1.98 ERA and allowed just 27 hits in 41 innings. He also had a K-BB ratio of 60-14 after last appearing at the Low-A level in 2018. The second overall pick from the 2017 draft has a high ceiling if he can continue to polish his secondary offerings.

Spencer Torkelson Jun 14 7:40am ET

The Detroit Tigers have promoted first base prospect Spencer Torkelson to Double-A from High-A. The first-over selection from the 2021 draft had started the season off slowly and hit just .235 with three home runs in the first month of the season but he caught fire in June. Prior to his promotion, he was hitting .439 with two home runs and a BB-K of 9-7 through 12 games. The 21-year-old slugger hasn't been hitting for as much power as expected but he's been an on-base machine (17% walk rate) and has made huge strides with his contact rate which has dipped to 20%. With a 170 wRC+ at High-A, he had very little left to prove. Torkelson is ranked by Rotoballer as the top first base prospect in baseball.

Johnny Cueto Jun 14 12:50am ET

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto fell to 4-3 in Sunday's 5-0 loss to the Nationals. Cueto pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on nine hits (including two home runs) and three walks with two strikeouts. The veteran has pitched relatively better overall this season but has been inconsistent and now owns a 4.00 ERA. His next start should be an ok matchup against a hot Phillies lineup at home, but cautious fantasy managers would be justified in sitting him this week.

    From RotoBaller

Bruce Zimmermann Jun 14 12:40am ET

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Bruce Zimmermann fell to 4-4 in Sunday's 7-1 loss to the Rays. Zimmermann turned in a decent start, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings. However, his offense couldn't give him much run support. The 26-year-old has been uninspiring this season, compiling a 4.83 ERA through 11 starts. His next start will be a tough one against the Blue Jays at home, but he offers little fantasy value at this time in even more favorable matchups.

    From RotoBaller

Adley Rutschman Jun 14 12:40am ET

Baltimore Orioles catching prospect Adley Rutschman stayed hot in Double-A Bowie's 10-0 win over Binghamton. The number 2 prospect in baseball played first base and went 3-for-6 with a solo home run, his 10th of the season, and two RBI. Rutschman has performed as well as anyone could have hoped to this point, slashing .298/.428/.571 on the season. The O's may not have a lot going for them, but the hope of having Rutschman up at some point is one big positive.

Justin Upton Jun 14 12:20am ET

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Justin Upton went 3-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored in the Angels 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday. The veteran slugger's recent hot streak has come from an unusual place: the leadoff spot. But Upton has responded his best production at the plate in ages, slashing .361/.531/.806 with four doubles, four home runs, 13 runs batted in, 13 walks and 16 runs scored over his last 11 games. Whether the experiment has staying power remains to be seen but Upton is now batting .333 with an OPS of 1.092 through 63 at-bats from the top spot in the lineup. The veteran's fantasy arrow is pointing up moving into next week.

    From RotoBaller

Jared Walsh Jun 14 12:20am ET

Los Angeles Angels first baseman Jared Walsh went 2-for-5 with one double, one home runs and three runs batted in as the Angels defeated the Diamondbacks 10-3 on Sunday. Walsh has taken a slight step back offensively in the month of June but now has three extra-base hits over his last two games. Despite the dip at the plate over the past week, Walsh is still making a strong case for All-Star consideration. Through 225 at-bats this season, Walsh is slashing .293/.363/.556 with 14 home runs, 15 doubles, 34 runs scored and 43 runs batted in and is still a fantasy starter in standard formats.

Framber Valdez Jun 14 12:10am ET

Houston Astros starter Framber Valdez allowed only one earned run through seven strong innings pitched in the team's 14-3 win over the Twins on Sunday. Valdez (3-0) struck out only two but held the Twins to five hits on a day when the Astros offense pounced all over Minnesota pitching. Valdez may be a late arrival to the regular season but he has been fantastic through his first four starts. The left-handed starter has held opponents to a .185 batting average combined with a 0.95 WHIP and a 1.42 ERA. The strikeouts may not have been on display in this performance but Valdez is averaging almost one punch-out per inning. Valdez is worth a look in deeper formats for this next start.

    From RotoBaller

Max Stassi Jun 14 12:10am ET

Los Angeles Angels catcher Max Stassi went 1-for-4 with a home run in the Angels 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday. Stassi got the offense going in the first inning, smoking a two-run home run in a game where the Angels racked up 13 hits. Stassi has been a revelation since returning from the injured list, slashing .424/.472/.909 with four doubles, four home runs and 10 runs batted in over his last nine games. Regression is certainly on the horizon but it may be time for fantasy teams to begin adding Stassi to their rosters for short-term offense.

    From RotoBaller

Michael Brantley Jun 14 12:00am ET

Houston Astros outfielder Michael Brantley went 4-for-5 with three doubles and four runs batted in as the Astros throttled the Twins 14-3 on Sunday. The veteran has returned from the injured list with a flourish, slashing an astounding .600/.652/.850 with five doubles and six runs batted in over his last 20 at-bats spanning five games. Brantley for the season is now slashing .337/.381/.497 with 19 doubles, 21 runs batted in and 29 runs scored through 187 at-bats and will be a player to target in DFS lineups heading into next week.

    From RotoBaller

Kyle Tucker Jun 14 12:00am ET

Houston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in the team's 14-3 drubbing of the Twins on Sunday. Tucker extended his hit streak to eight games and is slashing an impressive .383/.396/.660 with seven doubles, seven runs scored and eight runs batted in over his last 11 games. The 24-year-old has shaken off a slow start to become among a host of elite run-producers in the Astros lineup. Tucker now has a rock-solid .506 slugging percentage with 43 runs batted in on the season heading into next week's games.
