The biggest play this week is the Yankees, who have eight games starting with a doubleheader on Monday against the Orioles. First game is 1 PM EST, so note the early start if your lineup locks on first game. After four at home with the Orioles, who they pummel, the Indians come to the Bronx for four. Stack your Yankees.
Only two teams, Kansas City and Milwaukee, play five games. Seven games in seven days are played by Texas, Los Angeles Angels, Houston, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago White Sox and Arizona. The Orioles play seven because of the Monday doubleheader.
Interleague play has Minnesota at Milwaukee, but with Nelson Cruz on the IL, his DH loss won’t hurt. Oakland will miss Kris Davis for their two games at San Francisco. Tampa Bay loses their DH for their three games in San Diego. NL teams picking up a DH playing in AL cities are St. Louis playing two in Kansas City. The New York Mets play three in Kansas City. And Pittsburgh plays three in Los Angeles against the Angels.
The Rockies play all six of their games at home, starting with three against Arizona and then three against Miami. In only one game are they scheduled to face a left-handed pitcher (Robbie Ray from Arizona), so Raimel Tapia might be a good waiver wire pickup. Don’t forget to sit your pitchers at Coors because the ball jumps out of there in August.
Have you noticed what Cincinnati outfielder Aristides Aquino has done since his call up? Through Saturday in 31 at bats, he’s hit seven home runs with 14 RBI and a .452 average. He’ll be a hot waiver wire pickup. Another outfield pickup will be Trent Grisham, who has hit over .300 for the Brewers lead off spot during his first week in the bigs.
Have a great week!
