The Chicago White Sox placed starting center fielder Luis Robert Jr. on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left hamstring strain ahead of the finale of the team's home series against the Kansas City Royals.

Robert was removed from Tuesday's 5-4 loss in the fourth inning after just one at-bat. This marks the second time in a two-month span that Robert has been sidelined due to his left hamstring. He was also on the 10-day IL from June 29 through July 8 with a left hamstring strain.

A career .259 hitter who recently surpassed the 100-homer mark for his career, Robert is having a bit of a down season, hitting .223 with 14 homers and 53 RBIs in 110 games this season. However, he's been better since the All-Star Break, posting a .298 batting average and .352 on-base percentage.

In a corresponding move, the White Sox recalled outfielder Will Robertson from Triple-A Charlotte to replace Robert. Robertson made his major league debut earlier this season for Toronto before he was designated for assignment and claimed by the White Sox.

Between the Blue Jays and White Sox, he has one hit in 16 at-bats (.083), but he has a .289 batting average and 20 homers across 301 at-bats for the two organizations' Triple-A teams this season.
