Mariners activate IF Luke Raley, place RHP Logan Evans on IL

The Seattle Mariners made a series of roster moves Friday, reinstating utilityman Luke Raley from the 10-day injured list and recalling left-hander Tayler Saucedo from Triple-A Tacoma.

Infielder/outfielder Miles Mastrobuoni was optioned to Tacoma following Thursday's game, while right-hander Logan Evans was placed on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.

Raley, 30, had been out since July 30 with back spasms. In four rehab games with Tacoma, he batted .250 with two home runs and six RBIs. In 49 games for Seattle this season, the first baseman/outfielder is hitting .220 with four homers and 18 RBIs, following a career-best 2024 campaign in which he posted 22 homers and 58 RBIs.

Saucedo, 32, returns for his fourth stint with Seattle this year. He has a 7.71 ERA in five appearances for the Mariners in 2024, while posting a 3.18 ERA in 20 games with Tacoma.


Mastrobuoni, 29, has hit .248 with one home run and 12 RBIs in 75 games this season in a utility role.

Evans, 24, is 6-5 with a 4.37 ERA in 15 starts for Seattle this year.

The Mariners open a three-game series on the road against the New York Mets on Friday.
