Robbie Ray allowed just two singles in seven shutout innings, LaMonte Wade Jr. hit an RBI double in a three-run second inning and the San Francisco Giants blanked the visiting Colorado Rockies 4-0 on Friday night.

Matt Chapman homered and Hayden Birdsong wrapped up San Francisco's first shutout of the season with two innings of one-hit relief, allowing the Giants to snap a three-game losing streak, their longest of the season.

The Giants evened the four-game series at a game apiece.

Ray (4-0) gave up an infield single to Hunter Goodman with two outs in the fourth and a single to left field by Jordan Beck in the sixth en route to his first combined shutout since September 2022 for the Seattle Mariners against the Cleveland Guardians.

Ray is off to the best of his career, surpassing his 3-0 opening in 2018. The Giants have won all seven of his starts this season.

The closest the Rockies came to scoring was in the sixth, when Owen Miller led off with a walk and took third on Beck's two-out single. But Ray retired Goodman to allow San Francisco to retain its 4-0 lead.

The left-hander finished with two walks and eight strikeouts.

The Giants took the lead for good against Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela (1-5) with their second-inning uprising, which began with a double by Wilmer Flores.

After Heliot Ramos reached on an infield single, Wade lashed his run-scoring double.

Sam Huff's sacrifice fly made it 2-0 and advanced Wade to third, from where he scored on Senzatela's wild pitch.

Chapman's sixth homer of the season, a solo shot, came in the third inning.

The Giants out-hit the Rockies 7-3.

Facing Birdsong in the eighth, pinch hitter Nick Martini recorded Colorado's third hit.

Senzatela yielded four runs on five hits in five innings. He fanned four and walked two.

The loss snapped the Rockies' first two-game winning streak of the season. Colorado took the opener of the four-game series 4-3 on Thursday night.
