The Pittsburgh Pirates placed first baseman Spencer Horwitz on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a left hamstring strain.
Horwitz, 28, left in the fourth inning of Wednesday's 11-1 win against the visiting Seattle Mariners after experiencing discomfort.
Horwitz is slashing .280/.386/.455 with 11 doubles, 10 home runs and 33 RBIs through 74 games this season.
He is a career .271 hitter with 34 homers and 131 RBIs in 292 games with the Toronto Blue Jays (2023-24) and Pirates.
Pittsburgh recalled infielder Jack Brannigan from Double-A Altoona in a corresponding move.
Brannigan, 25, was a third-round draft pick by the Pirates out of Notre Dame in 2022 and is poised to make his major league debut. He is hitting .235 with eight homers and 18 RBIs in 31 games at Altoona.
