The NBA stepped in to cancel the Atlanta Hawks' planned collaboration with local strip club Magic City.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver issued a statement Monday indicating that his office decided to scrap the promotion.

"When we became aware of the Atlanta Hawks' scheduled promotion, we reached out to Hawks leadership to better understand their plans and rationale," Silver said. "While we appreciate the team's perspective and their desire to move forward, we have heard significant concerns from a broad array of league stakeholders, including fans, partners and employees. I believe canceling this promotion is the right decision for the broader NBA community."

"Magic City Monday" was an in-arena promotion scheduled for March 16 when the Hawks host the Orlando Magic. It was scheduled to feature a performance from rapper and Atlanta native T.I., and Magic City's chicken wings would be available for purchase.

There were no plans to host adult entertainment in the arena, but concerns arose over the idea of partnering with a strip club. San Antonio Spurs center Luke Kornet urged the Hawks to cancel the promotion because the idea "would reflect poorly on us as an NBA community, specifically in being complicit in the potential objectification and mistreatment of women in our society."

Player Notes
Scotty Pippen Jr. Mon Mar 9 7:20pm

Memphis Grizzlies guards Ty Jerome (calf) and Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe) have been ruled out for Monday's clash against the Brooklyn Nets. Both players were listed as doubtful on the initial injury report. With Jerome and Pippen Jr. sidelined, Cam Spencer, Javon Small, Jahmai Mashack, and Walter Clayton Jr. will share the minutes in the backcourt. Of this group, Spencer has been the most consistent fantasy performer, averaging 11.4 points and 5.5 assists in 23.8 minutes this season.

Taylor Hendricks Mon Mar 9 7:20pm

Memphis Grizzlies forward Taylor Hendricks (thumb) will skip Monday's contest against the Brooklyn Nets. He landed on the injury report with a sore right thumb and was initially listed as doubtful. Memphis will be extremely shorthanded in the frontcourt, so GG Jackson II and Olivier-Maxence Prosper must be prepared for a busy night. With only eight players available to the team, the Grizzlies will likely use smaller lineups more often as well. Hendricks could be an option to return on Tuesday against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Ace Bailey Mon Mar 9 7:10pm

According to Ben Anderson of KSL News, Salt Lake City, Utah Jazz guard/forward Ace Bailey (illness) is unavailable for Monday's matchup with the Golden State Warriors due to an illness. Bailey's next chance to suit up is Wednesday against the Knicks. The 19-year-old rookie is averaging 12.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists across 57 games this season. Brice Sensabaugh will likely take on extra work and is an excellent streaming option for fantasy managers during tonight's clash. On Saturday against Milwaukee, Sensabaugh finished with 17 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals across 17 minutes.

Chet Holmgren Mon Mar 9 7:10pm

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Chet Holmgren (illness) will miss a second straight game on Monday against the Denver Nuggets. This isn't unexpected, as the team had listed him as questionable on the initial injury report. With Isaiah Hartenstein (calf) also missing for the Thunder, Jaylin Williams is set to have a massive role in the frontcourt. Kenrich Williams is likely to have an increased workload as well. Meanwhile, Isaiah Joe could remain in the starting lineup after taking Holmgren's place on Saturday against Golden State and producing a good 18-point outing.

Cedric Coward Mon Mar 9 7:10pm

Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward Cedric Coward (knee) won't suit up for Monday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. The team has ruled him out after initially handing him a doubtful tag on the injury report. Memphis is set to have only eight players available for the contest, so players like Walter Clayton Jr., Jahmai Mashack, and Rayan Rupert should see plenty of time on the court. Coward could return to action on Tuesday for the second leg of a back-to-back against Philadelphia.

Jamal Murray Mon Mar 9 7:00pm

Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray (ankle) will play in Monday's tasty matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The first-year All-Star injured his left ankle last week and was initially considered questionable for Monday's game. Murray struggled in his first meeting with the defending champions this season but had an outstanding game against them a couple of weeks ago. In a shootout with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Murray finished with 39 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block in a 127-121 overtime loss on Feb. 27.

LeBron James Mon Mar 9 6:50pm

According to Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet, head coach JJ Redick said forward LeBron James (elbow, foot) didn't practice on Monday but is still considered day-to-day. James has missed two straight games due to a left elbow contusion and arthritis in his left foot, and could also miss Tuesday's matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves. If he doesn't suit up, Rui Hachimura will likely start again, while Jarred Vanderbilt and Jake LaRavia could also see additional minutes.

Cameron Payne Mon Mar 9 6:50pm

Philadelphia 76ers point guard Cameron Payne will join the starting lineup on Monday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, filling in for Tyrese Maxey (finger). This will be Payne's first start of the season. With Joel Embiid (oblique), Paul George (suspension), and VJ Edgecombe (back) also out, Payne should play an important role on the offensive end. Quentin Grimes and Kelly Oubre Jr. are also expected to get plenty of scoring opportunities for the short-handed 76ers.

VJ Edgecombe Mon Mar 9 6:40pm

Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe (back) will miss a third consecutive game on Monday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team has downgraded his status from questionable to out. On a positive note, Edgecome participated in the pregame shootaround, which suggests he could be ready to return from his back injury soon. His next chance for a comeback will be a matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday. Quentin Grimes has taken on a bigger role during Edgecombe's absence, and his importance to the team will increase further on Monday night, with Tyrese Maxey (finger) out of the lineup.

Jarrett Allen Mon Mar 9 6:40pm

Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen (knee) will miss a second consecutive contest on Monday against the Philadelphia 76ers. The big man hurt his right knee last week, and it's unclear when he can return from the injury. With Allen out on Sunday against Boston, Evan Mobley shifted to center, and Dean Wade filled the void in the starting lineup. Cleveland has named an unchanged starting five for Monday's game.

Dean Wade Mon Mar 9 6:40pm

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Dean Wade (ankle) will be active on Monday against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 29-year-old was listed as probable on the initial injury report after he returned from an ankle injury on Sunday against Boston. Wade took Jarrett Allen's (knee) spot in the first unit, contributing seven points, three rebounds, and one steal in 21 minutes. He will remain part of the starting lineup against Philadelphia.

Will Richard Mon Mar 9 6:20pm

Golden State Warriors guard/forward Will Richard (ankle) will miss his fourth consecutive contest on Monday against the Utah Jazz due to a right ankle sprain. His next chance to return is on Tuesday night against the Bulls. Seth Curry (back) is set to return, so he could take on some extra playing time while Ricard is out, but he isn't expected to make an impact fantasy-wise during tonight's tilt.

Seth Curry Mon Mar 9 6:10pm

Golden State Warriors guard Seth Curry (back) is set to suit up against the Utah Jazz on Monday evening. The 35-year-old veteran has been dealing with sciatic nerve irritation and has appeared in only two games this season. Curry's minutes will likely be limited in his return, and it remains unclear if he will have a consistent role in the Warriors' rotation moving forward.

Mitchell Robinson Mon Mar 9 5:50pm

New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson (ankle) won't play against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. The 27-year-old big man will sit out the second leg of a back-to-back due to left ankle injury management. Robinson finished with four points, four rebounds and one steal across 17 minutes during Monday's 110-97 loss to the Lakers. With Robinson sidelined, Ariel Hukporti will move up the depth chart as the backup behind starting center Karl-Anthony Towns.

Alex Caruso Mon Mar 9 5:30pm

Oklahoma City Thunder guard/forward Alex Caruso (hip) is unavailable to suit up on Monday night against the Denver Nuggets. The veteran will miss his second straight game due to a bruised left hip. OKC will have Ajay Mitchell (ankle, abdomen) back after missing 20 games, so he will help cover while Caruso is out. Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, and Cason Wallace will also be in line to receive extra minutes during tonight's contest.

Taylor Hendricks Mon Mar 9 8:10am

Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Taylor Hendricks (thumb) is listed as doubtful for Monday's matchup against the Nets due to soreness in his right thumb. The former lottery pick logged 18 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals, two blocks, and three three-pointers across 26 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Clippers before the issue surfaced. Memphis is already thin due to injuries, so Olivier-Maxence Prosper and G.G. Jackson II could absorb additional frontcourt minutes. Prosper produced 11 points and three three-pointers in 23 minutes last game, while Jackson added 14 points and seven rebounds in 22 minutes.

Branden Carlson Mon Mar 9 8:00am

Oklahoma City Thunder center Branden Carlson (back) will miss Monday's matchup against the Nuggets, marking another game on the sidelines as he continues recovering from a lingering back issue. His absence leaves Oklahoma City thin at center, especially with Isaiah Hartenstein (calf) already out and Chet Holmgren (illness) listed as questionable. Jaylin Williams could handle a larger workload after starting in the previous game and posting nine points, three three-pointers, 14 rebounds, and four assists in 33 minutes. Kenrich Williams may also see extra run after contributing 13 points and seven rebounds in 19 minutes.

Scotty Pippen Jr. Mon Mar 9 7:50am

Memphis Grizzlies guard Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe) is listed as doubtful for Monday's matchup with the Nets due to soreness in his right big toe. Pippen has been a regular part of the rotation lately, though the toe problem could keep him sidelined for the opening game of the back-to-back. If Pippen is ruled out, the Grizzlies could lean more heavily on Javon Small, who posted 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two steals, and one block in 33 minutes during a March 4 start. Walter Clayton Jr. and Cam Spencer should also see added ball-handling opportunities in deeper formats.

Peyton Watson Mon Mar 9 7:40am

Denver Nuggets forward Peyton Watson (hamstring) will remain sidelined for Monday's matchup against the Thunder as he continues recovering from a right hamstring strain that has kept him out since early February. Watson had been logging around 31 minutes per game before the injury, leaving Denver to piece together wing minutes in his absence. Cameron Johnson returned from a two-game absence and started, finishing with 10 points, one three-pointer, three rebounds, five assists, and one steal in 22 minutes. Johnson has been inconsistent for much of the season, but he should continue seeing opportunities while Peyton Watson remains sidelined and Aaron Gordon is still ramping up after his return.

Mo Bamba Mon Mar 9 7:30am

Utah Jazz center Mo Bamba signed a second 10-day deal with the team Sunday after showing enough during his initial stint to remain with the club. The former lottery pick appeared in two games earlier this week, producing four points, eight rebounds, and two blocks in 21 minutes against Philadelphia before adding six points and 12 rebounds in 17 minutes versus Washington. Bamba provides depth behind second-year center Kyle Filipowski and veteran Kevin Love, though his role remains inconsistent after a DNP on March 7. For fantasy managers, Bamba is difficult to trust outside of deep leagues unless Utah expands his minutes.
