Houston Astros outfielder George Springer (quad) remains out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Seattle Mariners. He was scratched from Monday's contest and is reportedly still dealing with soreness in his quad. Springer is considered day-to-day and is not expected to land on the disabled list. Tony Kemp will start in center field and bat ninth versus righty Nick Vincent.
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher James Paxton (forearm) is aiming to throw a bullpen session on Thursday. It appears that Paxton is recovering well and his swelling on his forearm is almost gone. Paxton is on schedule to return for the series against the Oakland Athletics starting August 30.
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Mike Leake (illness) has been scratched from Tuesday's start against the Houston Astros. Righty Nick Vincent will draw the start, but is only expected to go a few innings. This is likely going to be a bullpen day for the Mariners. Leake should be fine and is not expected to land on the disabled list.
Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Brian Dozier (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. It appears this is just a routine day off for the righty slugger. Chris Taylor will play second base and bat seventh versus righty Daniel Poncedeleon. Taylor has been average with the bat this season and does not have much upside against Poncedeleon who has been solid. DFS players can avoid Taylor for this contest.
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Puig came off the bench and collected a hit in Monday's loss to the Cards. He'll play right field and bat eighth versus righty Daniel Poncedeleon. Puig is crushing right-handed pitching this season, so he should be a solid DFS option on Tuesday.
St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Matt Carpenter (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It's just a routine day off, so Carpenter should be back in the lineup Wednesday. Jose Martinez will lead off and play first base against lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu. Martinez is in a favorable part of the batting order, but Ryu has been solid this season. Regardless, Martinez is still worth a look in DFS contests.
San Francisco Giants catcher/first baseman Buster Posey (hip) is likely to undergo season-ending hip surgery, according to John Shea. Posey is out of the lineup on Tuesday and may have already played his last game of the season. Posey has been dealing with this hip injuries since May. The Giants are discussing options of possible surgery, according to manager Bruce Bochy. There is a good chance that Posey has played his last game in 2018.
Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu (abdominal) has been scratched from Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Abreu is dealing with lower abdominal pain, so he'll sit out this contest. The organization will do more tests, but hopefully this is just a day-to-day issue. Matt Davidson will play first base and bat third against righty Jose Berrios. Davidson is worth considering for DFS contests on Tuesday.
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Jonathan Schoop (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. Orlando Arcia will play shortstop and bat eighth against righty Sal Romano. Arcia has been awful with the bat this season, so DFS players can go ahead and avoid him.
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman/outfielder Ryan Braun (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. Braun has been dealing with a rib cage issue, but did return to the lineup on Monday. It looks like he is just getting routine day off on Tuesday. Eric Thames will bat sixth and play right field against righty Sal Romano. DFS players can avoid using Thames for this contest.
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman/outfielder Eric Thames (knee) is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. Thames was out of the lineup for a few games due to a sore knee. He'll bat sixth and play right field against righty Sal Romano. Thames has struggled over the last two weeks, so he's not worth using in DFS contests.
Cincinnati Reds shortstop Jose Peraza (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Eugenio Suarez will slide over to shortstop and bat cleanup against righty Junior Guerra. Suarez has crushed right-handed pitching this season, so he's worth a look in DFS contests.
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Matt Albers (hamstring) has been activated from the disabled list on Tuesday. He missed the last couple of weeks due to a hamstring issue. Albers threw three scoreless innings without issues, so he should resume his role in middle relief for the Brewers. Reliever Joakim Soria (groin) should be activated off the disabled list later this week.
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Mark Trumbo (knee) is considering having surgery on his right knee that has been causing him problems throughout most of the season. Trumbo was placed back on the disabled list Monday with a knee issue that dates back to May. Trumbo is scheduled to meet with a physician and there should be more news in the next couple of days. Fantasy owners should be worried that his 2018 season could be over.
Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Ervin Santana (finger) will undergo an MRI on his middle finger on Wednesday. He was placed back on the disabled list Sunday after continuous discomfort in his finger. He made just five starts for the Twins this season and was awful. There is a good chance that Santana does not return again this season.
Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Matt Duffy (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Kansas City Royals. It appears this is a rest day for Duffy who has struggled with the bat over the last week. Joey Wendle will bat third and play third base against righty Glenn Sparkman. Wendle is a decent DFS option for Tuesday's contests.
Kansas City Royals outfielder Jorge Bonifacio (back) has been scratched from Tuesday's starting lineup due to a stiff back. It sounds like a day-to-day situation, so Bonifacio should be back in the lineup soon. Rosell Herrera will bat fifth and play right field against lefty Blake Snell. Herrera is hitting .233/.288/.300 off left-handed pitching this season, so he can be avoided in DFS contests.
New York Mets third baseman Todd Frazier (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the San Francisco Giants. Jose Reyes will get the start at third base and bat eighth against righty Chris Stratton. Reyes has been awful with the bat this season, so he can be avoided for fantasy purposes.
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (bereavement) is not expected to return until Friday against the Astros. Trout was originally placed on the 10-day DL with a wrist injury, but has remained off the field after the tragic passing of his brother-in-law, Aaron Cox. Trout will rejoin the team when they host the Astros at the end of the week. Until then, Eric Young will continue to man centerfield in his absence.
Los Angeles Angels left fielder Justin Upton is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Upton was also out of the lineup on Sunday, with an off-day in between. No official word about an injury or anything for the veteran outfielder, so for now owners should be patient. The slugger is hitting .267 with 26 home runs on the season. Make sure to remove him from any DFS lineups. Kaleb Cowart is playing left field in his absence.
