Detroit Tigers' SS Ronny Rodriguez scored 30.0 fantasy points going 8-for-22 with three home runs and seven RBIs in six games this week. Rodriguez is owned only in 0.25% of mixed leagues.
Minnesota Twins right-hander Kyle Gibson struggled in an 8-5 win over the Detroit Tigers on Saturday. Gibson allowed five runs (four earned) over 5 1/3 innings of work while striking out eight. He still wound up picking up the win on an evening where his offense scored plenty of runs. Gibson's performances this season have been up-and-down but he has shown some strikeout upside for fantasy owners. Overall, Gibson has a 12-6 record, 4.49 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 141 strikeouts in 144 1/3 innings of work. He will take on the Detroit Tigers again in his next start, this time on the road.
Cincinnati Reds left-hander Alex Wood struggled in a 14-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday. Wood gave up five runs (four earned) over 5 1/3 innings of work while striking out one. The loss dropped Wood's record to 1-3, to go along with a 6.07 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and 22 strikeouts in 29 2/3 innings of work. The veteran left-hander's performance in Cincinnati has not come close to his Dodgers days. That being said, his next start comes against the Miami Marlins, so he will be worth streaming for that outing next week.
Washington Nationals' CF Adam Eaton scored 28.5 fantasy points going 8-for-25 with two home runs and four RBIs in six games this week. Eaton is owned only in 47.92% of mixed leagues.
Twins' CF Jake Cave scored 27.5 fantasy points going 7-for-14 with three home runs and four RBIs in five games this week. Cave is owned only in 0.00% of mixed leagues.
Orioles' SS Hanser Alberto scored 31.0 fantasy points going 5-for-24 with three home runs and seven RBIs in six games this week. Alberto is owned only in 6.37% of mixed leagues.
Angels' DH Albert Pujols scored 26.0 fantasy points going 8-for-20 with a home run and six RBIs in five games this week. Pujols is owned only in 4.90% of mixed leagues.
Texas' CF Delino DeShields had four stolen bases and a .300 average with 2 RBIs in six games this week. DeShields is owned only in 2.94% of mixed leagues.
Mariners' 3B Kyle Seager scored 32.0 fantasy points going 7-for-19 with a home run and eight RBIs in five games this week. Seager is owned only in 22.30% of mixed leagues.
Texas Rangers' LF Willie Calhoun scored 32.5 fantasy points going 10-for-29 with four home runs and seven RBIs in seven games this week. Calhoun is owned only in 35.05% of mixed leagues.
Mariners' SS J.P. Crawford scored 29.5 fantasy points going 9-for-21 with a home run and two RBIs in five games this week. Crawford is owned only in 0.37% of mixed leagues.
Chicago White Sox RP Jose Ruiz was optioned to Class AAA Charlotte on Sunday, Aug. 25.
Baltimore Orioles RP Ty Blach was optioned to Class AAA Norfolk on Saturday, Aug. 24.
Texas Rangers DH Hunter Pence (back) will not play against the Chicago White Sox in the finale of the teams' four-game series Sunday, Aug. 25, due to lower back tightness.
Cleveland Indians 3B Jose Ramirez (wrist) left the game against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday, Aug. 24, after hurting his wrist on a swing in his first at-bat. Ramirez underwent an MRI, but the team has yet to announce the results.
New York Mets RP Edwin Diaz (shoulder) was removed from the game versus the Atlanta Braves on Saturday, Aug. 24, due to right trapezius tightness.
Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Wilmer Flores (back) has not played in a game since Aug. 20 due to a minor back issue, according to manager Torey Lovullo.
It was just another multi-hit performance for Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette, who went 3-for-5 in Saturday night's 7-5 victory over the Mariners. Bichette hit his eighth home run of the year in the third inning and finished a triple shy of the cycle, later adding an RBI-single and RBI-double. Now slashing .345/.385/.683 through this first 117 plate appearances, Bichette continues to show why he's one of the jewels of the Blue Jays system and increases his value in dynasty leagues seemingly every day.
St. Louis Cardinals 2B Kolten Wong (toe) was forced from the game against the Colorado Rockies on Saturday, Aug. 24, after fouling a ball off his big toe. Wong was able to avoid a fracture, but he suffered a lot of swelling and bleeding that needed to be alleviated by drilling a hole in his toenail. He left the stadium on crutches and is expected to be out several days.
Toronto Blue Jays reliever Derek Law was called upon in the eighth inning on Saturday night to finish off Toronto's 7-5 victory over the Mariners. Law walked two and struck out two in 1 2/3 innings on his way to picking up his fourth save of the year. Regardless of the strong performance, Law's value in most fantasy leagues will be limited going forward, as closer Ken Giles is set to return from paternity leave on Sunday,
