    J.D. Davis Aug 17 12:50pm ET

New York Mets outfielder J.D. Davis (calf) was forced to leave early during Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Davis suffered left calf tightness while attempting to run out a play in the eighth inning. He's considered day-to-day at the moment, so he might not suit up for Saturday's contest. He's been hot at the plate, so he needs to be started if he does play.

Ender Inciarte Aug 17 12:50pm ET

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte (leg) is in danger of missing the rest of the regular season. He injured his right leg while heading home during Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Inciarte had issues walking around after the incident, so the Braves will do more testing. It's likely that Inciarte lands on the injured list, but fantasy owners will just have to be patient and wait for the testing.

Steve Cishek Aug 17 12:40pm ET

Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Steve Cishek (hip) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Saturday. The team is hopeful that Cishek will be ready to return to the Cubs by Tuesday, assuming everything goes well. He's been sidelined with left hip inflammation, but it doesn't sound too serious. He should get save chances in Chicago until Craig Kimbrel is ready to return.

    From RotoBaller

Teoscar Hernandez Aug 17 12:40pm ET

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Hernandez will get a routine day off here, but should see plenty of playing time in the second half. He has 19 home runs this season, but has a rough batting average thus far. Randal Grichuk will draw the start in center field and bat cleanup versus righty Reggie McClain. Grichuk has been on fire with the bat lately, so he's a solid DFS option for this one.

    From RotoBaller

Kevin Newman Aug 17 12:40pm ET

Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Kevin Newman is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Newman will bat leadoff and play second base versus lefty Jon Lester. Adam Frazier is normally at second base, but gets the day off against the left-handed starter. Newman has been average with the bat, but doesn't have great upside. He's in a favorable spot in the order, so he could be a cheap DFS option, but don't expect too much from him.

Kyle Schwarber Aug 17 12:30pm ET

Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Schwarber will get a routine day off here against the left-handed starter. Ian Happ will cover left field and bat seventh versus lefty Steven Brault. Happ was red-hot with the bat, but has cooled down this week. He's not a great fantasy option for Saturday especially with him hitting .190 over the last seven games.

    From RotoBaller

Roberto Perez Aug 17 12:30pm ET

Cleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the New York Yankees. Perez has surprisingly clubbed 20 home runs this season and become a decently reliable fantasy option at catcher. Kevin Plawecki will draw the start behind the plate and bat eighth versus lefty James Paxton. Plawecki is not worth a look in DFS contests.

    From RotoBaller

Aaron Judge Aug 17 12:20pm ET

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Cleveland Indians. Judge has been slumping with the bat lately, so the Yankees will give him a day off to rest. He's spent almost two months on the injured list this season, so the Yankees want to be cautious with him. Cameron Maybin will play right field and bat sixth versus righty Zach Plesac. Maybin has slowed down with the bat a bit, but remains a decent DFS option for this one.

    From RotoBaller

Gary Sanchez Aug 17 12:10pm ET

New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Cleveland Indians. Sanchez will get a routine day off here to rest, but he should be back in there on Sunday. Austin Romine will do the catching and bat eighth versus righty Zach Plesac. Romine doesn't have enough upside to warrant owning in DFS contests or fantasy leagues.

Ian Kennedy Aug 17 12:10pm ET

Kansas City Royals closer Ian Kennedy has been quite the shock this season, but he continues to do his job and shut down the ninth inning. Kennedy nailed down his 21st save of the season with a scoreless frame against the Mets on Friday. It was a bit exciting as he allowed two hits and a walk before recording the final out, but he also had a three-run lead to work with and who doesn't like an exciting closer? Kennedy has now thrown seven straight scoreless innings, and his strikeout rate still sits north of 10.5 K/9. It looks like the conversion is complete, and Kennedy's career has been salvaged.

    From RotoBaller

Mike Montgomery Aug 17 12:10pm ET

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Mike Montgomery took it to the Mets on Friday as he threw six frames without allowing any earned runs to get the win. Montgomery bested star pitcher Noah Syndergaard as he held New York to just seven baserunners. Montgomery only struck out three, which is a bit concerning, but considering he sat down 12 in his last outing, it's safe to just assume his standard numbers will fall somewhere around the middle of those two. Since coming over to the Royals, Montgomery is rocking a 3.68 ERA and has only allowed two earned runs in his last 18 innings. It may be the Royals, but Montgomery looks like he could be a solid investment for the upcoming weeks.

Jorge Soler Aug 17 12:10pm ET

For the first time in over a year, Kansas City Royals outfielder Jorge Soler walked three times in a single game. Soler's three walks on Friday amounted to just the third time in his entire career that he's walked three or more times in a game, and it was just the second time it had happened without him being walked intentionally. Soler has been hitting at a torrid pace recently, and he still drilled a double on Friday as well. He's closing in on the franchise record for home runs in a single season, he's raised his batting average to a perfectly acceptable .261, and he's only striking out 26.1% of the time, his lowest strikeout rate as a member of the Royals. Soler looks like he's truly turned a corner.

    From RotoBaller

Bubba Starling Aug 17 12:00pm ET

Kansas City Royals outfielder Bubba Starling has fallen on hard times in KC, but he's trying to fight his way through an ugly slump. Following an 11-game hitting streak in his first 12 games in the majors, Starling fell off rapidly. Starling is hitting .115 over his last 52 at-bats with one home run and four runs scored. He's also struck out a whopping 22 times over that period of time, including earning two golden sombreros for striking out four times in a single game. Starling has a history of struggling terribly when he got his first crack at each new level in the minors, so it's not surprising he's struggling in the majors now.

Carlos Carrasco Aug 17 11:53am ET

Cleveland Indians RHP Carlos Carrasco (illness) could begin a rehab assignment with Class AA Akron Monday, Aug. 19, as long as he doesn't experience any setbacks Saturday, Aug. 17. The team is expected to keep him on a reliever's program.

Tom Eshelman Aug 17 11:53am ET

Baltimore Orioles RHP Thomas Eshelman was optioned to Class AAA Norfolk Friday, Aug. 16.

Meibrys Viloria Aug 17 11:50am ET

Kansas City Royals rookie catcher Meibrys Viloria came through with a critical double against Noah Syndergaard on Friday to help the Royals win against the Mets. Viloria's key hit came when KC was trailing, and he would go on to score the eventual winning run when Nicky Lopez knocked him in. Viloria is a light-hitting Double-A prospect for the Royals, but since he got called up, he's impressed a bit. Having safely hit in 11 of 16 games so far, Viloria has already racked up four doubles. It's unlikely that Viloria is going to turn into much this season, but if he can keep stroking the ball like this, he could be a perfect short-term pickup for a team trying to make the playoffs.

Hunter Harvey Aug 17 11:43am ET

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Orioles RHP Hunter Harvey is on an innings limit this season and will be used as a reliever by the parent club.

Steve Cishek Aug 17 11:33am ET

Chicago Cubs RP Steve Cishek (hip) threw a pain-free bullpen session Saturday, Aug. 17.

Hunter Harvey Aug 17 11:33am ET

The Baltimore Orioles promoted RHP Hunter Harvey from Class AAA Norfolk Saturday, Aug. 17.

Luke Voit Aug 17 10:53am ET

New York Yankees 1B Luke Voit (abdomen) ran the bases and fielded ground balls at Yankee Stadium Friday, Aug. 16, and said that he hasn't experienced pain in the last few days. He is slated to report to Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to continue participating in on-field workouts Monday, Aug. 19, with a rehab assignment likely to begin shortly thereafter.
