Stephen Piscotty Aug 19 1:13am ET

Oakland Athletics OF Stephen Piscotty (ankle) missed the game Sunday, Aug. 18 due to a right ankle injury. Manager Bob Melvin expects Piscotty to be back Tuesday, Aug. 20.

Deven Marrero Aug 19 1:13am ET

Miami Marlins SS Deven Marrero cleared waiver Sunday, Aug. 18 and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A New Orleans.

Amed Rosario Aug 19 1:03am ET

New York Mets SS Amed Rosario made his first-ever outfield appearance Sunday, Aug. 18, due to an injury to OF J.D. Davis (calf). He fielded a single and flyout cleanly.

    J.D. Davis Aug 19 12:53am ET

Updating a previous report, New York Mets OF J.D. Davis (calf) was lifted as a precaution Sunday, Aug 18, due to a tight right calf. Davis and manager Mickey Callaway insisted the outfielder is fine. Davis said he expects to be back in the field Tuesday, Aug. 19.

Chance Sisco Aug 19 12:53am ET

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Orioles C Chance Sisco (groin) took a foul ball to the 'privates,' according to manager Brandon Hyde. He is still being evaluated, and he will be ex-examined Monday, Aug. 19.

Mike Moustakas Aug 19 12:38am ET

Milwaukee's 3B Mike Moustakas had five RBIs going 3-for-4 with two home runs in a 16-8 loss to Washington on Sunday, Aug. 18.

Lorenzo Cain Aug 19 12:33am ET

Milwaukee Brewers OF Lorenzo Cain (oblique) is not expected to start Monday, Aug. 19. 'We're hoping he'll be better (Monday) but probably won't start the game. If he keeps making progress, we should be in good shape. Tomorrow is kind of an important day,' manager Craig Counsell said.

Brett Anderson Aug 19 12:33am ET

Updating a previous report, Oakland Athletics LHP Brett Anderson (finger) left his start Sunday, Aug. 18 due to a small blister on his finger. He said he doesn't expect it will be an issue heading into his next scheduled start.

Mike Clevinger Aug 19 12:10am ET

Cleveland's SP Mike Clevinger recorded 10 strikeouts in 5 innings with the win in a 8-4 win over the Yankees on Sunday, Aug. 18.

Mitch Moreland Aug 18 10:30pm ET

Boston Red Sox first baseman Mitch Moreland entered the game in the sixth inning of Sunday's game against the Orioles and finished with three hits in as many at-bats, along with a run batted in and two runs scored. This was Moreland's second three-hit game this season and it bumped his batting average to .243. Earlier this week he hit his first home run since May, but his season hasn't been as fruitful as expected. Dealing with some injuries and inconsistent playing time, Moreland has worked his way out of relevancy in mixed leagues. He still has some value in AL-only formats.

Christian Vazquez Aug 18 10:30pm ET

Boston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez finished 2-for-4 with a run batted in and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Orioles. Vazquez registered his career-high 19th double in the sixth inning which also delivered his 53rd RBI. In his fifth major league season, Vazquez is having a breakout year and has made a name for himself in the fantasy world. Whether it is sustainable in the future or not is a different story, however, for now the 28-year-old should have a shot at finishing as a top 5 fantasy catcher.

    J.D. Martinez Aug 18 10:20pm ET

Boston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez went 3-for-5 with two runs batted in and a run scored in Sunday's 13-7 win over Baltimore. Martinez is having the best month of his season, hitting .391 with a 1.177 OPS, five homers, 12 RBI, five doubles, and 15 runs scored. It's not a career season by any means, but his 28 long balls, 75 RBI, and .310 batting average have made him a solid fantasy asset. Boston is going to have to score a lot of runs to win games the rest of the way, and you can expect Martinez to be one of the main catalysts.

Xander Bogaerts Aug 18 10:10pm ET

Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts finished 2-for-5 with two runs batted in during Sunday's win over Baltimore. The 26-year-old picked up his 42nd double, which puts him at third in all of baseball, and just three behind his career-high. It was going to be tough for Bogaerts to replicate what he did in 2018, but he's well on his way to setting career bests in almost every offensive counting stat. There doesn't seem to be any stopping for Bogaerts, and he has a real shot to finish as the top fantasy shortstop this season.

Rafael Devers Aug 18 10:00pm ET

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers went 4-for-5 against the Orioles on Sunday, while also collecting four runs batted in and two runs scored. The 22-year-old smashed his 27th homer of the year, his sixth in August, and his third in four days. This month he's slashing .338/.372/.703 with 17 RBI and nine doubles. He's the hottest hitter on the planet right now and has to be entering American League MVP talks soon, if he isn't already.

Alex Wood Aug 18 10:00pm ET

Cincinnati Reds left-hander Alex Wood struggled in a 5-4 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. Wood allowed five runs (four earned) over five innings of work. He struck out six and walked one in the outing. Wood's record drops to 1-2 to go along with a 5.92 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts in 24 1/3 innings of work. He missed most of the season with a back issue and continues to try to shake the rust off. Wood is worth owning in National League-only formats and in deeper mixed leagues.

    From RotoBaller

Nathan Eovaldi Aug 18 9:50pm ET

Boston Red Sox pitcher Nathan Eovaldi allowed five runs on three in two complete inning, while striking out one and walking three in Sunday's 13-7 win over Baltimore. Boston's rotation is a disaster right now so the team shifted Eovaldi back to the rotation and it did not go as planned. Over 36 1/3 innings, Eovaldi is 1-0 with a 6.69 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, and 35 strikeouts. He's well off the fantasy radar at his point, as his role is in limbo and his effectiveness hasn't returned either. It's safe to drop him in all formats and don't worry about picking him back up unless he really turns things around.

    From RotoBaller

Tom Murphy Aug 18 8:00pm ET

Backup catcher Tom Murphy once again made the most of his opportunity to start, hitting his 13th home run of the year on Sunday in a 7-0 win over Toronto. In his last start on August 12, Murphy hit two home runs and continues to show that he has thunder in his stick every time he steps up to the plate. In a horrible year for catchers, Murphy is a streaming option every time he gets a start.

Paul Goldschmidt Aug 18 7:50pm ET

After being red-hot for most of June and July, Cardinal's first baseman Paul Goldschmidt cooled off to start August, failing to homer in the first eight games of the month. But the former Diamondback is heating up again, hitting his third home run in seven games. Even though he now has 28 HR on the year, Goldschmidt still has a lot of work to do if he wants to return his draft-day cost.

    From RotoBaller

Oscar Mercado Aug 18 7:40pm ET

Cleveland rookie Oscar Mercado did a little bit of everything on Sunday, as the Indians defeated the Yankees 8-4. Mercado went 3-5, hitting a home run and stealing two bases, with three RBI and one run scored. The toolsy rookie has cooled off lately, as the home run is his first since August 4 while the stolen bases are his first since July 17. Cleveland next plays the other New York team, starting a three-game set with the Mets on Tuesday.

    From RotoBaller

Pete Alonso Aug 18 7:30pm ET

The Mets continued their hot streak on Sunday, beating the Royals 11-5 as Peter Alonso continued to destroy major league pitching, collecting three hits as well as his 40th home run of the year. This is after Alonso had three hits on Saturdays and five on Thursday. A prohibitive favorite to win the National League Rookie of the Year, Alonso's 40 HR is only two behind leader Cody Bellinger and is forcing his way into the elite-tier of fantasy first baseman.
