Tommy Pham Aug 24 5:20pm ET

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Tommy Pham is back in the lineup Saturday versus Orioles left-hander John Means. Pham left Friday's contest early with a nagging wrist injury, but has returned to his customary second spot in the batting order. The 31-year-old has contributed across the board in all roto categories with 19 homers, 60 runs, 54 RBI, and 16 thefts in his first full season with the Rays. He may play with this wrist ailment for the duration of the season, but he's still providing fantasy value with his bat and legs. Expect Pham to cash in another 20/20 campaign before the year ends.

Eloy Jimenez Aug 24 5:20pm ET

Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (hip) is back in the starting lineup on Saturday, serving as the designated hitter and batting fifth against Rangers left-hander Kolby Allard. Jimenez missed the last two games with a minor hip injury. The talented 22-year-old should be returned to all fantasy lineups immediately. His upside is undeniable and he's hitting .241/.293/.471 with 22 home runs, 47 runs and 52 RBI in his 340 at-bats. There continue to be growing pains, but the league better watch out when he finally puts it all together.

Mitch Keller Aug 24 5:20pm ET

Pirates rookie pitcher Mitch Keller may have not been credited with a win on Friday night but he did turn in the best start of his young career, as Pittsburgh beat Cincinnati 3-2 with a ninth-inning comeback. Keller went six innings in the no-decision, striking out nine Reds while allowing only a solo home run by Aristides Aquino in the second inning. Only 10%-owned in all Yahoo Leagues, the Pirate's top pitching prospect will line up for his next start on Wednesday when Pittsburgh travels to Philadelphia.

Nick Pivetta Aug 24 5:10pm ET

Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Nick Pivetta was sent down to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday to add further to a disappointing season. The right-hander gave up five runs (one earned) on Friday in a frustrating loss to the Marlins to up his ERA to 5.38 on the year with a 1.52 WHIP. Pivetta could return to the big leagues when the rosters expand in September, but won't hold any fantasy relevance pitching out of the bullpen. 2019 will undoubtedly go down as a bust season for the 26-year-old, but he's young enough to still have time to return to fantasy relevance in the coming years.

    From RotoBaller

Andrelton Simmons Aug 24 5:10pm ET

Los Angeles Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons is not in the starting lineup on Saturday. Simmons recently returned from the injured list, so the Angels are likely easing him back into action. David Fletcher will start at shortstop and hit leadoff against Astros left-hander Wade Miley. Fletcher has been very valuable for the Halos for his ability to play all over the field. The 25-year-old also makes plenty of contact and is hitting .288/.346/.397. He doesn't have much power (fiver homers), but Fletcher is valuable in deep mixed and AL-only leagues for his ability to get on base and hit for average. He's also scored 70 runs and stolen eight bags in 468 at-bats. He's not a bad DFS sleeper against the southpaw.

Anthony Rizzo Aug 24 5:10pm ET

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo (back) was removed from the game early in the fifth inning on Saturday with mid-back tightness. Rizzo had a walk in two plate appearances before exiting. Consider him day-to-day for now, but the Cubs would be dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of the postseason if Rizzo were to miss time down the stretch. The 30-year-old is batting a very solid .290/.402/.526 with 25 long balls, 80 runs, 82 RBI and five stolen bases in 532 plate appearances. He's a must-start anytime he's on the field. Ian Happ and Kyle Schwarber could be options to replace Rizzo at first base if he misses any time.

    From RotoBaller

Matt Carpenter Aug 24 5:00pm ET

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter is out of the starting lineup for the third straight game on Saturday. Tommy Edman is at the hot corner again and is hitting seventh against Rockies starter Chi Chi Gonzalez. Carp has been a disaster this year and is hitting .212/.323/.363 with 11 home runs, 48 runs, 33 RBI and six steals on the year. He's been much worse since returning from his injury and might play only sparingly down the stretch. Look for better options in shallow mixed leagues if you're still fighting for a fantasy championship. Edman's value increases in NL-only leagues, but he doesn't have much upside in DFS.

Willie Calhoun Aug 24 5:00pm ET

Texas outfielder Willie Calhoun continued to shine on Friday in Chicago, hitting a three-run home run in the top of the first inning off of White Sox starter Dylan Cease. The Rangers would eventually lose 8-3 but Calhoun continues to hit like he has no intention of going back to the minors, with nine home runs, 19 RBI, and 18 runs scored since being recalled. Calhoun is slashing .299/.346/.639 in those 104 plate appearances, with a 146 wRC+ and .401 wOBA. Time is running out to grab the fast-rising slugger off of the waiver wire.

    From RotoBaller

David Peralta Aug 24 5:00pm ET

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed outfielder David Peralta (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with right AC joint inflammation and recalled outfielder Tim Locastro from Triple-A Reno is a corresponding move. Peralta has been very solid again in 2019 with his .275/.343/.461 slash line, 12 home runs, 48 runs and 57 RBI in 99 games, so it's a big loss for Arizona and his fantasy owners. Peralta has plenty of time to make it back before the end of the season, but time is running out for him to help in fantasy. Josh Rojas is playing left field on Saturday, and he could split time with Locastro there until Peralta is ready to return.

    From RotoBaller

Austin Meadows Aug 24 4:40pm ET

A night after helping Baltimore set the record for the most home runs allowed in a season, Tampa Bay outfielder Austin Meadows hit a grand slam on Friday, defeating the Orioles 7-1. Meadow's first career slam was his third home run in his last six games, with seven of his 23 HR having come in August.

    From RotoBaller

Jon Berti Aug 24 4:20pm ET

Miami Marlins 29-year-old rookie Jon Berti continued his improbable run of productivity on Friday night, going 3-for-6 with a home run, two RBI, and a stolen base in a 19-11 win over the Phillies. In 87 plate appearances since returning from the injured list on July 31, Berti is slashing .308/.379/.526 with three home runs, 9 RBI, and 18 runs scored. Throw in five stolen bases, eligibility at four positions, and a leadoff spot, and you have a player who should be much higher than 10%-ownership.

    From RotoBaller

Jeff McNeil Aug 24 4:10pm ET

New York Mets infielder/outfielder Jeff McNeil (hamstring) is coming off the injured list on Saturday. Outfielder Aaron Altherr is being designated for assignment in a corresponding move. McNeil isn't listed in the starting lineup on Saturday, but we'd expect him to be back in there on Sunday. The 27-year-old has done nothing but hit since coming up to the majors last year and is slashing .332/.400/.529 with 15 home runs, 67 runs, 55 RBI and four stolen bases in 2019. Get him back into all lineups when he returns to the Mets lineup. His return could be bad news for J.D. Davis in left field and/or Joe Panik at the keystone.

    From RotoBaller

Felix Hernandez Aug 24 4:03pm ET

Seattle Mariners RHP Felix Hernandez (shoulder) was activated from the 60-day injured list Saturday, Aug. 24. The team also optioned RP Zac Grotz to Class AAA Tacoma.

Zac Grotz Aug 24 4:03pm ET

Seattle Mariners RHP Felix Hernandez (shoulder) was activated from the 60-day injured list Saturday, Aug. 24. The team also optioned RP Zac Grotz to Class AAA Tacoma.

Francisco Cervelli Aug 24 4:00pm ET

The Atlanta Braves signed free-agent catcher Francisco Cervelli to a major league contract on Saturday and optioned catching prospect Alex Jackson to Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move. Jackson has some appeal in the long term for his raw power (25 homers for Gwinnett), but there's a lot of swing and miss in his game. Cervelli is finally over his latest head injury, but he was hitting an atrocious .193/.279/.248 with a homer and five RBI in just 109 at-bats with the Pirates this year before he was released. He'll help spell Tyler Flowers behind the plate until Brian McCann is healthy. Cervelli should be ignored in fantasy.

    From RotoBaller

David Peralta Aug 24 3:53pm ET

Arizona Diamondbacks OF David Peralta (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, Aug. 24, because of AC joint inflammation. The team also recalled OF Tim Locastro from Class AAA Reno.

Tim Locastro Aug 24 3:53pm ET

Arizona Diamondbacks OF David Peralta (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, Aug. 24, because of AC joint inflammation. The team also recalled OF Tim Locastro from Class AAA Reno.

Didi Gregorius Aug 24 3:40pm ET

The New York Yankees trounced the Dodgers on Friday night 10-0, with shortstop Didi Gregorius accounting for half of the Yankees runs. He first chased starter Hyun-Jin Ryu from the game with a fifth-inning grand slam that put the Yankees up 7-1, before adding a cherry on top with a ninth-inning solo shot. Gregorius now has 13 home runs on the year and is slashing .267/.295/.487 in his 244 plate appearances since coming off of the injured list on June 7.

    From RotoBaller

Trey Mancini Aug 24 3:40pm ET

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Trey Mancini is not in the starting lineup on Saturday. Chris Davis returns to the lineup at first base and will hit eighth against Rays left-hander Jose Alvarado. Davis has been one of the worst players in baseball in 2019, hitting an embarrassing .177/.267/.308 with nine home runs, 32 RBI and 121 strikeouts in 303 plate appearances. Avoid him at all costs against a southpaw. He has a .107/.167/.161 line with one homer and two RBI against lefties in 60 plate appearances this year.

    From RotoBaller

Ryne Harper Aug 24 3:33pm ET

Minnesota Twins RP Cody Stashak was recalled from Class AAA Rochester Saturday, Aug. 24. The team also optioned RP Ryne Harper to Class AAA Rochester.
