Corey Seager Mar 25 2:33am ET

Los Angeles Dodgers 2B/OF Enrique Hernandez and SS Corey Seager have been named the starting second baseman and shortstop, and they worked together plenty in the exhibition game Sunday, March 24 against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The two have six assists apiece and neither committed an error.

Kenley Jansen Mar 25 2:23am ET

Los Angeles Dodgers RP Kenley Jansen (leg) was struck in the right leg by a liner in a spring game Sunday, March 24 against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He waved off an athletic trainer and remained in the game, but was later removed in the eight inning for another pitcher. After the game he said he was fine, and he was removed due to his pitch count, so the plan is for Jansen to pitch again Monday, March 25.

Justin Upton Mar 25 2:23am ET

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Justin Upton (toe) suffered a sprained left big toe during an exhibition game Sunday, March 24 against the Los Angeles Dodgers and his status for Opening Day is unclear. 'I hope I walk in here (Monday) and it feels great,' Upton said, 'but I won't know until tomorrow.'

Felix Pena Mar 25 2:23am ET

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RHP Felix Pena threw 3 1/3 innings in his final spring tune-up Sunday, March 24 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He used his improved changeup to his advantage, recording nine of his 10 outs via strikeouts. 'I've been working on (the changeup) since spring training,' Pena said, 'and thank God it's where I want to be.' Manager Brad Ausmus said Pena will be limited to 90-95 pitches in his major league debut.

Mallex Smith Mar 25 2:03am ET

Seattle Mariners OF Mallex Smith (elbow) is expected to see plenty of playing time in two exhibition games at T-Mobile Park on Monday, March 25 and Tuesday, March 26. 'We'll start our regular crew, four innings, maybe a little more,' manager Scott Servais said. '(Smith) will be the exception, will probably play Mallex a little more to build him up. He's been hitting a lot, he hasn't played a ton of defense. But we'll get Mallex 5-6 innings, play him a little bit more on Tuesday.'

Felix Hernandez Mar 25 2:03am ET

Seattle Mariners RHP Felix Hernandez will throw a simulated game Wednesday, March 27 as his final prep before the regular season gets underway.

Yusei Kikuchi Mar 25 1:23am ET

Seattle Mariners LHP Yusei Kikuchi will be limited to one inning every fifth start or so in an effort to keep the pitcher healthy and limit his workload in his rookie season in the majors. They'll likely turn to starting candidates like LHP Justus Sheffield or RHP Erik Swanson to follow him while getting exposure to the majors.

Justus Sheffield Mar 25 1:23am ET

Arizona Diamondbacks RHP Greg Holland has been named the team's closer to open the 2019 season.

Marc Rzepczynski Mar 24 11:53pm ET

Arizona Diamondbacks LHP Marc Rzepczynski was reassigned to minor league camp Sunday, March 24.

Jace Peterson Mar 24 11:53pm ET

Matt Magill Mar 24 11:43pm ET

Minnesota Twins RHP Matt Magill (biceps) has started playing catch and hopes to to throw a bullpen session sometime next week.

Sandy Leon Mar 24 10:50pm ET

Boston Red Sox catcher Sandy Leon has been placed on waivers, while fellow catchers Blake Swihart and Christian Vazquez have made the Opening Day roster. It's been an interesting three-way battle through the spring between Swihart, Leon, and Vazquez to see who the Sox would carry to Beantown with them. Out of minor-league options, it's a possibility that Leon declines any option to the minor league's with hopes that a team will pick him up to be a part of their major league roster. The 30-year-old is well-known for his defensive prowess but not with the bat, meaning his fantasy relevance is essentially non-existent in any format, regardless of his employer.
