Andrew Cashner May 26 2:00am ET

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Andrew Cashner improved to 5-2 despite a lackluster start in Saturday's win against the Rockies. Cashner pitched five innings, allowing five runs on eight hits (including a three-run home run) and no walks with five strikeouts. The 32-year-old has been mediocre this season, posting a 4.55 ERA with 48 strikeouts and 20 walks in 59 1/3 IP. However, he can be a cheap daily fantasy play in favorable matchups. One of those matchups could be his next scheduled start at home against the Giants.

    From RotoBaller

Brandon Nimmo May 26 1:53am ET

New York Mets OF Brandon Nimmo (neck) has a bulging cervical disc pushing on a nerve in his neck, and he is suffering the effects of whiplash. He also received a medical steroid injections to reduce inflammation in his neck.

Renato Nunez May 26 1:50am ET

Baltimore Orioles third baseman/designated hitter Renato Nunez continued to heat up in Saturday's 9-6 win over the Rockies, going 3-for-5 with two singles and a two-run home run. The 25-year-old has now homered in each of his last four games and has five in his last seven games. Additionally, Nunez is hitting .391 with nine RBI in his last seven games. He has shown immense power potential at times this season and could be a useful streamer in deeper leagues when he's on.

    From RotoBaller

Jonathan Villar May 26 1:50am ET

Baltimore Orioles second baseman/shortstop Jonathan Villar had a great day at the plate in Saturday's 9-6 win over the Rockies. The 28-year-old went 3-for-5 with a single, a double, a three-run home run, and a strikeout. Despite the positive outing, Villar has been cold at the plate in May, batting .236 with three HR, 13 RBI, and three steals. His speed always makes him fantasy relevant, but hopefully, he can start to pick things up so he can be more useful for owners.

Francisco Cervelli May 26 1:33am ET

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Pirates C Francisco Cervelli (concussion) is experiencing concussion-like symptoms after exiting the game Saturday, May 25, the team announced. He was hit in the head by a broken bat.

Rookie Davis May 25 11:53pm ET

Pittsburgh Pirates RP Dovydas Neverauskas was recalled from Class AAA Indianapolis Saturday, May 25, and RP Rookie Davis' contract was selected by the Pirates from Class AAA Indianapolis. The team also placed RP Chris Stratton (side) on the 10-day injured list because of right side discomfort and optioned RP Michael Feliz to Class AAA Indianapolis.

Francisco Cervelli May 25 11:13pm ET

Pittsburgh Pirates C Francisco Cervelli (head) exited against the Los Angeles Dodgers Saturday, May 25, after being hit in the head by a broken bat.

Carlos Santana May 25 10:40pm ET

Cleveland Indians first baseman/designated hitter Carlos Santana had a strong game on Saturday, going 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double. Santana scored a run and drove himself in. It was his 10th double and his ninth home run of the year, bringing his slash line up to .287/.410/.500. He's been the only solid contributor to Cleveland's offense this season.

    From RotoBaller

Max Stassi May 25 10:33pm ET

Houston Astros C Max Stassi (knee) exited against the Boston Red Sox Saturday, May 25, with left knee discomfort.

Carlos Carrasco May 25 10:30pm ET

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco struggled on Saturday, tossing 6 1/3 innings but allowing six runs (five earned) on nine hits and a walk. He struck out six but allowed three home runs, tossing 104 pitches. His record dropped to 4-5 and his ERA went up to 4.60. Opponents are hitting .276 off of Carrasco, who hasn't quite been able to put together a string of strong starts yet.

    From RotoBaller

Matt Carpenter May 25 10:30pm ET

St. Louis Cardinals infielder Matt Carpenter hit three singles on Saturday, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Carpenter's been struggling this season, but he seems to be putting it together of late, bringing his slash line up to .222/.335/.389. He's got the upside to be an excellent fantasy asset, but he'll need to put more multi-hit games together soon.

    From RotoBaller

Paul Goldschmidt May 25 10:30pm ET

St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt hit three singles on Saturday, finishing 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. He raised his slash line to .269/.360/.442. "Goldy" hasn't been the elite fantasy product we've all gotten used to, but he could break out any day and give his fantasy owners what they've been waiting for.

    From RotoBaller

Jordan Hicks May 25 10:30pm ET

St. Louis Cardinals closer Jordan Hicks picked up his 10th save of the season on Saturday, tossing a perfect inning with 12 pitches. He dropped his ERA to 2.65 and his opponent's batting average to .175. The Cardinals haven't had many save chances recently, but Hicks has the upside to be one of the more effective fantasy closers.

    From RotoBaller

Dakota Hudson May 25 10:20pm ET

St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Dakota Hudson threw well on Saturday, picking up a quality start. He pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks. He struck out two and needed just 74 pitches for the night. Hudson has had some ups and downs this season, and he'll take a 4.22 ERA into his next start.

    From RotoBaller

David Price May 25 9:13pm ET

Boston Red Sox LHP David Price (illness) was removed from his start against the Houston Astros Saturday, May 25, with flu-like symptoms.

Gregory Soto May 25 9:13pm ET

Detroit Tigers LHP Gregory Soto was optioned to Class AAA Toledo Saturday, May 25.

Tyler Mahle May 25 8:30pm ET

Cincinnati Reds right-hander Tyler Mahle had a rough time against the Chicago Cubs in his Saturday start. Mahle coughed up six runs in five innings while striking out five and walking one. His main issue was the home run ball, as he allowed three on the afternoon. Despite the poor outing, Mahle has been solid for the Reds this season, posting a 4.15 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 59 strikeouts in 56 1/3 innings of work. He isn't a must-own, but he's a decent streaming option when the matchup is right. He will take on the Washington Nationals on Friday.

    From RotoBaller

Tucker Barnhart May 25 8:30pm ET

Cincinnati Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart went 3-for-4 with a double, a homer, two runs, and two RBI in an 8-6 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. After the big afternoon, Barnhart is hitting .195 with a .643 OPS, five homers, 16 runs, and 14 RBI. The veteran catcher is not known for his bat, as his career high in homers is 10, set in 2018. Despite the low average, he shouldn't have much trouble eclipsing that number this season. He isn't of much fantasy interest outside of two-catcher and deep, NL-only formats.

    From RotoBaller

    C.J. Cron May 25 8:00pm ET

Minnesota Twins first baseman C.J. Cron stayed red-hot at the plate in an 8-1 win over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. Cron went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs, and four RBI in the win. The slugger has been locked in at the plate over the past 15 games, hitting .355 with six homers, 15 runs, and 15 RBI. Still available in just under half of Yahoo leagues, Cron is a priority waiver add if he's still out there in your league. He will face off against White Sox starter Dylan Covey on Sunday in a favorable matchup.

    From RotoBaller

Kyle Gibson May 25 7:50pm ET

Minnesota Twins right-hander Kyle Gibson was dominant in an 8-1 win over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. Gibson spun seven innings of one-run ball, striking out nine and allowing just five hits. His only mistake was a solo homer off of the bat of Jose Abreu. Gibson earned the win, improving his record to 5-2 with a 4.08 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 60 strikeouts in 57 1/3 innings of work. While Gibson is just inconsistent enough to preclude him from every-week starter status, he is a high-end streamer in any and all good matchups. He will take the mound against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday.
