Franmil Reyes Aug 25 11:40pm ET

Cleveland Indians outfielder/designated hitter Franmil Reyes hit two home runs on Sunday, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored. Reyes has been having a hard time since getting traded to Cleveland, as even the strong Sunday left him with a .182/.217/.416 line.

Matt Carpenter Aug 25 11:30pm ET

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter had an excellent game on Sunday, going 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, and two singles. He drove in two runs and scored three. The home run was the 12th of the season for Carpenter, who moved his line up to .218/.328/.375. It's been a rough year for "Carp" but he showed what he's capable of in this one. If he has another good game or two, he may be worth looking into in deeper formats.

Dexter Fowler Aug 25 11:30pm ET

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dexter Fowler drove in three runs on Sunday, going 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a run scored. Brock Burke Aug 25 9:30pm ET

Texas Rangers starting pitcher Brock Burke allowed one run in six innings Sunday in a loss to the White Sox. Burke allowed two hits and three walks while striking out five on the afternoon. Burke has now allowed only one run through his first 12 MLB innings. The left-hander primarily pitched in Double-A this season with a 3.18 ERA and a 2.76 FIP. He had a 26.6 percent strikeout rate across Double-A and Triple-A and is one of the top prospects in the Rangers system. He's worth a speculative add in fantasy to see how long he keeps this up, especially with a nice matchup against Seattle lined up for Friday.

Trevor Bauer Aug 25 9:00pm ET

Cincinnati Reds right-hander Trevor Bauer was hit hard in a 9-8 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. Bauer allowed eight runs (seven earned) over three innings while striking out two. It was an uneven effort across the board as the veteran hurler gave up two runs in the first inning and then three runs in each the second and third innings. Bauer has struggled since coming over to Cincinnati, having posted a 7.32 ERA over five starts. Overall, in 29 starts between the Reds and the Cleveland Indians, Bauer has a 10-11 record, 4.34 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 217 strikeouts. He will look to bounce back against the St. Louis Cardinals in his next start.

Martin Perez Aug 25 9:00pm ET

Minnesota Twins left-hander Martin Perez pitched well in a 7-4 win over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday. Perez allowed just two runs over six innings of work while striking out five. The veteran southpaw picked up the win, improving his record to 9-6 to go along with a 4.53 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 116 strikeouts over 139 innings of work. Perez hit a rough patch last month but he has straightened out, having allowed just four earned runs over his past three starts. The Minnesota hurler is worth an add in deeper leagues based on his recent performance. He will face the Tigers again in his next start, this time in Detroit.

    From RotoBaller

    C.J. Cron Aug 25 8:50pm ET

Minnesota Twins first baseman C.J. Cron went 1-for-2 with two walks and a three-run homer in a 7-4 win over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday. The big slugger got off to a fast start this season but that was just his third home run in the month of August. Overall, Cron is hitting .257 with the 21 homers, 44 runs, and 68 RBI. His recent slow spell has rendered him as more of an option in American League-only formats.
