Rene Rivera Mar 26 2:43am ET

Free-agent C Rene Rivera (Giants) signed a minor-league contract with the New York Mets on Monday, March 25.

Addison Reed Mar 26 2:43am ET

Minnesota Twins RHP Addison Reed (thumb) is expected to begin the season on the injured list and will remain at the team's spring training complex in Florida to begin his progression.

Mike Morin Mar 26 2:33am ET

Minnesota Twins RHPs Mike Morin and Preston Guilmet were reassigned to minor-league camp Monday, March 25.

Mike Foltynewicz Mar 26 2:33am ET

Atlanta Braves RHP Mike Foltynewicz (elbow) is expected to throw approximately 50 pitches during a minor-league game Friday, March 29, and 65 to 70 pitches for Class AAA Gwinnett on April 4. He will likely require one more rehab start after that, making it possible he could return sometime during the team's second homestand beginning on April 11.

Jose Ramirez Mar 26 2:23am ET

Cleveland Indians 3B Jose Ramirez (knee) was spotted fielding grounders at the team's spring training complex Monday, March 25. While manager Terry Francona declined to say if Ramirez will start on Opening Day, he is currently listed as day-to-day.

Yu Darvish Mar 26 2:13am ET

Chicago Cubs RHP Yu Darvish (blister) is tentatively scheduled to start the second game of the season Saturday, March 30, versus the Texas Rangers, assuming he does not experience a setback with his blister in the interim.

Jon Jay Mar 26 2:13am ET

Chicago White Sox OF Jon Jay (hip, back) felt soreness in his hip and lower back Monday, March 25, after playing for the first time in 11 games one day earlier.

Walker Buehler Mar 26 2:03am ET

Los Angeles Dodgers RHP Walker Buehler is scheduled to make his season debut against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday, March 31.

Ervin Santana Mar 26 1:23am ET

Chicago White Sox RHP Ervin Santana will make two more starts at extended spring training in Arizona before he can rejoin the team, according to Scott Merkin of MLB.com.

Chris Paddack Mar 26 1:13am ET

San Diego Padres RHP Chris Paddack is scheduled to make his major-league debut against the San Francisco Giants on Sunday, March 31, according to Dennis Lin of The Athletic.

Steve Pearce Mar 26 1:03am ET

Boston Red Sox 1B Steve Pearce (calf) will open the season on the 10-day injured list, according to Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald.

Chris Taylor Mar 26 12:53am ET

Los Angeles Dodgers INF/OF Enrique Hernandez will be the club's primary second baseman in 2019, the manager Dave Roberts. As a result, 2B/OF Chris Taylor is expected to take over the super-utility role that Hernandez has embraced in recent years.

Ervin Santana Mar 26 12:50am ET

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Ervin Santana will stay in Arizona and make a couple more starts before joining the White Sox's rotation for the regular season. Santana made just his second spring start on Monday and won't be an option for fantasy owners until mid-April most likely. The 36-year-old right-hander made only five starts for the Twins last year due to injury and is a poor bet to bounce back in the American League and in a hitter's park.

Francisco Pena Mar 26 12:43am ET

St. Louis Cardinals LHP Tyler Webb was optioned to Class AAA Memphis on Monday, March 25. RHP Chris Beck, LHP Tommy Layne, Cs Francisco Pena and Andrew Knizner, INFs Tommy Edman and Rangel Ravelo and OF Dylan Carlson were also reassigned to minor-league camp.

Tyler Webb Mar 26 12:43am ET

Steve Pearce Mar 26 12:40am ET

Boston Red Sox first baseman Steve Pearce (calf) will start the season on the injured list. Sam Travis will start the season in Pearce's place and could platoon at first with Mitch Moreland against left-handers. Pearce shouldn't be on the shelf for too long to begin the season. He'll turn 36 on April 13 after becoming the unlikely World Series MVP last fall. Don't let his impressive postseason run distract you from the fact that he's a streaky and aging platoon player best reserved for DFS and AL-only leagues.

Rick Porcello Mar 26 12:40am ET

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Rick Porcello was struck in the head with a Willson Contreras line drive on Monday but was able to get up immediately and remained in the game. It was reported that all concussion tests came back negative. He finished four complete innings, allowing two earned runs, while striking out three, and scattering four hits, including a home run to pitcher Cole Hamels. This was the former Cy Young winner's final tuneup before the regular season and he is expected to start one of the games this coming weekend against the Mariners. At just 30 years old, Porcello is a solid source of innings and strikeouts for one of the top teams in baseball, making him a strong fantasy option in any format.

    From RotoBaller

Chris Paddack Mar 26 12:40am ET

San Diego Padres starting pitcher Chris Paddack will likely make his major league debut on Sunday against the Giants after a very impressive spring training. Paddack, the team's No. 5 prospect and No. 34 overall per MLB Pipeline, has big upside but threw only 90 innings in two minor league stops in his first year back from Tommy John surgery in 2018. So while he certainly should be owned in all leagues now that he's earned a rotation spot, a likely innings limit will cap his upside in redraft leagues.
