Jonathan Villar May 20 4:50pm ET

Baltimore Orioles second basemen Jonathan Villar(rest) is getting his first day off of the season on Monday. The 28-year-old is having a decent start to the season, tallying 27 runs, five home runs, and 19 RBI to go along with nine stolen bases over the first 46 games. Hanser Alberto will start in his place at second and bat leadoff against the Yankees on Monday.

Yoenis Cespedes May 20 4:50pm ET

New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (heel) suffered multiple fractures in his right ankle after a "violent fall" on his ranch in Port St. Lucie. It is not known when Cespedes, who has been out all year rehabbing from heel surgeries, will be able to return to the Mets' lineup. He is now back in New York and there should be more information released in the next coming days.

Corey Kluber May 20 4:50pm ET

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Corey Kluber (forearm) will undergo an x-ray on Thursday to determine if his cast can be removed. Kluber, who has been out since May 1st after getting hit by a line drive, could switch over to a removable splint if the evaluation determines that things are progressing in the right direction. There is still no exact timetable for his return.

Albert Pujols May 20 4:20pm ET

Los Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols is not in the lineup Monday night against the Twins. It appears the team is opting to use left-handed hitting teammate Jared Walsh and Shohei Ohtani against the Twins starter Jake Odorizzi. Pujols has been hitting the ball well lately, slugging .690 with three home runs over his last seven games. But the future Hall of Famer is currently slugging only .427 against right-handed pitching and will get the night off.

Yoenis Cespedes May 20 4:13pm ET

New York Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes (heel, ankle), who was already on the 60-day injured list recovering from heel surgery, reportedly suffered multiple right ankle fractures in an accident recently on his ranch in Florida, according to multiple sources.

Josh Reddick May 20 4:10pm ET

Houston Astros outfielder Josh Reddick went 2-for-2 with one double and two walks in the Astros 4-3 loss to the Red Sox. Reddick is 8-for-17 (.470) over his last five games played and is slashing .302/.361/.453 in the month of May. After a down season in 2018 that was maligned by injuries, the veteran is back to being a dangerous bat in the bottom half of a dangerous Astros lineup. Through 144 at-bats this season Reddick's slugging percentage is back up to .472 and is absolutely crushing left-handed pitching. Through 25 at-bats against lefties, Reddick is slashing .480/.536/.800 with five doubles. Reddick still is not an everyday player, limiting his fantasy value and is best suited for AL-only leagues right now.

Carlos Correa May 20 4:00pm ET

Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa hit his 11th home run of the season in the Astros 4-3 loss to the Red Sox on Sunday. Correa is enjoying a resurgent season offensively, thanks to slashing .290/.348/.613 with one triple, three doubles and five home runs in the month of May. Correa will be a strong play in DFS lineups all week and has five extra-base hits with seven RBI over his last seven games.

Felix Pena May 20 4:00pm ET

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Felix Pena will serve as the team's primary pitcher Monday against the Twins. The Angels will have pitcher Taylor Cole serve as opener and then Pena will take the mound. Pena has followed openers all season and is posting a 0.96 WHIP. He has pitched more than five innings only once but has 37 strikeouts through 38 2/3 innings this season. While Pena's numbers are trending in a positive direction right now, his lack of ability to pitch deeper into games stifles his fantasy ceiling. Pena could, however, be used in the short-term on Monday against the Twins team that he held to three runs through five innings pitched on May 14.

Seth Lugo May 20 3:53pm ET

New York Mets RP Seth Lugo (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder tendinitis Monday, May 20. The Mets also selected the contract of RP Hector Santiago from Class AAA Syracuse.

Willson Contreras May 20 3:40pm ET

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras will have Monday evening off. The Cubs have been using their backup catchers for all starts made by Yu Darvish and that allows Contreras to have a designated day off. This will be the fifth straight start by Darvish in which Contreras will sit and he should be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Victor Caratini will be behind the plate and bat fourth on Monday. Caratini is in a good spot in the order and worth a dart throw in DFS on Monday versus Jake Arrieta.

    From RotoBaller

Javier Baez May 20 3:40pm ET

Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez will rest on Monday. Baez left Sundays game early with a heel contusion. Baez rarely takes a day off and the Cubs are wise to give him a breather as he is a little banged up. Baez remains day-to-day. Addison Russell will take over for Baez at shortstop and bat eighth. Russell has struggled since being reinstated from a suspension and could be avoided versus Phillies starter Jake Arrieta on Monday.

Josh Bell May 20 3:00pm ET

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell was named National League Player of The Week for his performance from May 13-19. In seven games, he went 11-for-27 (.407 average), with an on-base percentage of .484 and a slugging percentage of .889. He slugged four home runs and drove in 10 during a week that the Pirates went 4-3. Bell continues his tear, and is one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball over the past month. On the season, the 26-year-old now has a .333 average, is slugging .697 to go along with 14 home runs, 44 RBI, and 31 runs scored. He will continue to be the main offensive catalyst for the Pirates, who sit three games back of the Cubs in the NL Central.
