Khris Davis May 24 5:20pm ET

The Oakland Athletics officially placed outfielder Khris Davis (hip, oblique) on the 10-day injured list with a left hip/oblique contusion on Friday and recalled outfielder Skye Bolt from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. The move is retroactive to May 22. Davis just hasn't been right since initially suffering the hip injury on May 5. The elite slugger is batting .248/.318/.497 on the season with 12 homers, 23 runs and 29 RBI. Keep him stashed everywhere and hope for a quick return. Chad Pinder and Mark Canha will both benefit from extra playing time while he's out and are worth a pickup in deep mixed leagues. Bolt figures to see sporadic playing time.

Jimmy Nelson May 24 5:10pm ET

The Milwaukee Brewers activated starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson (elbow) from the 10-day injured list on Friday and then optioned him to Triple-A San Antonio. The 29-year-old had a 4.74 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 22 strikeouts and nine walks in 19 innings in his four outings (three starts) for San Antonio on his rehab assignment. The Brewers want to see a little more from him on the farm before they re-insert him into their starting rotation. The right-hander didn't pitch at all in 2018 but went 12-6 with a nice 3.49 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and career-high 10.2 K/9 in 29 starts for the Brew Crew in 2017. He should become a streaming option in deep mixed leagues when he's back in the rotation in Milwaukee.

Jed Lowrie May 24 5:10pm ET

New York Mets manager Mickey Callaway said that third baseman Jed Lowrie (hamstring, knee) is a ways away from a return. Lowrie has yet to make his season debut in his first year in New York, and it's fair to wonder at this point if he'll even make it back before the All-Star break. Those that spent a draft pick on him have to be sorely disappointed. Whenever he does make his season debut, he might be fighting for playing time with the likes of Jeff McNeil, J.D. Davis and Todd Frazier. Those in mixed leagues can leave him to the waiver wire.

    From RotoBaller

Mike Clevinger May 24 5:00pm ET

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Mike Clevinger (back) threw 35 pitches on Friday and is heading to extended spring training to ramp up his activities before beginning a minor league rehab assignment. The 28-year-old right-hander hadn't allowed an earned run in his two starts this year while striking out 22 in 12 innings before his injury. Clevinger has fantasy ace potential when he's healthy, so he shouldn't be available on any waiver wires. Barring any setbacks on his rehab assignment, the right-hander should be ready to return around the middle of June.

Ryan Braun May 24 5:00pm ET

Milwaukee Brewers outfielders Christian Yelich (back) and Ryan Braun (knee) are both back in the starting lineup on Friday against Phillies starting pitcher Jerad Eickhoff after missing time this week. Yelich is in right field and hitting second, while Braun is batting third and playing left field. Yelich is once again in the running for the National League MVP so far this year. Both he and Braun are excellent choices for your daily lineups to kick off the series against the Phils this evening.

Aaron Altherr May 24 4:53pm ET

New York Mets OF Aaron Altherr was added to the active roster Friday, May 24. The Mets also optioned RP Ryan O'Rourke to Class AAA Syracuse.

Zac Rosscup May 24 4:53pm ET

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and RP Thomas Pannone were recalled from Class AAA Buffalo on Friday, May 24. 2B Cavan Biggio also had his contract selected from Buffalo, while RP Zac Rosscup was added to the roster. To make room for the four, the Blue Jays optioned INF Richard Urena and OF Billy McKinney to Buffalo, designated RP Ryan Feierabend for assignment and placed RP Elvis Luciano on the bereavement list.

Rafael Devers May 24 4:50pm ET

Boston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez (back, illness) is returning to the designated hitter spot and is batting cleanup against Astros starting pitcher Wade Miley on Friday. Martinez has been out since Sunday with a back injury and an illness. Get the elite slugger back into all fantasy lineups against the southpaw. Third baseman Rafael Devers will take a seat against the lefty, with Eduardo Nunez at the hot corner and batting seventh. Nunez is a boom/bust DFS play with limited upside on Friday. Steve Pearce, who recently hit his first homer of the year, will be a sleeper play at first base and in the fifth spot in the lineup against the lefty.

    From RotoBaller

George Springer May 24 4:50pm ET

Houston Astros outfielder George Springer (back) is back in the lineup in right field and is hitting leadoff on Friday against Red Sox left-handed starting pitcher Chris Sale. Michael Brantley will take a seat against the southpaw, with Josh Reddick in left field and batting seventh. Tyler White is the designated hitter and is batting eighth. Springer had been out since Sunday with lower back stiffness, but the All-Star outfielder is back in there and should be back in all fantasy starting lineups as well, even in the tough matchup. Reddick and White should be faded in DFS against Sale, who has looked more like his Cy Young self in recent outings.

Jimmy Nelson May 24 4:43pm ET

Milwaukee Brewers RHP Jimmy Nelson (elbow) was activated from the 10-day injured list and optioned to Class AAA San Antonio on Friday, May 24.

Michael Conforto May 24 4:30pm ET

New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto (concussion) thinks he will return from the injured list this weekend, but he needs to be cleared by the league first. The Mets need all the help they can get in the outfield -- they are starting J.D. Davis, Carlos Gomez and Rajai Davis on Friday night. Conforto was hitting .271/.406/.521 with nine homers, 27 runs, 21 RBI and three steals before his injury, so he needs to remain owned in all leagues. Get him back into your lineups when he returns for the Mets, possibly as early as Saturday.

    From RotoBaller

Renato Nunez May 24 4:30pm ET

Baltimore Orioles designated hitter Renato Nunez is not in the starting lineup on Friday. Outfielder Keon Broxton is starting in center field and is batting sixth in his debut with the team this evening. First baseman Chris Davis is also taking a seat on the bench. Rio Ruiz is getting the nod at third base and is hitting fifth in the lineup. Ruiz is hitting .245 (37-for-151) with four home runs and 14 RBI on the year, but he isn't a very attractive fantasy option in any format. Broxton hit under .200 in his time with the Mets this year but should start in center field for Baltimore and could have appeal in deep mixed and AL-only leagues if you're in need of speed.

    From RotoBaller

Josh Naylor May 24 4:20pm ET

San Diego Padres first baseman Josh Naylor is serving as the designated hitter and is batting sixth on Friday in his major league debut against Blue Jays starting pitcher Trent Thornton. The 21-year-old was hitting .299/.378/.538 with 10 home runs and 35 RBI in 45 games for Triple-A El Paso before his call-up. He's a short-term option in deep mixed and NL-only leagues. There's a good chance the Friars send him back to the minors when they finish up their road trip with the Blue Jays and Yankees. He's San Diego's No. 9 prospect, per MLB Pipeline.

    From RotoBaller

Chad Wallach May 24 4:10pm ET

The Miami Marlins placed catcher Chad Wallach (concussion) on the 10-day injured list with a concussion on Friday and called up catcher Bryan Holaday from the minors in a corresponding move. Outfielder Isaac Galloway was also designated for assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man roster. Holaday will now serve as the backup to Jorge Alfaro in Miami. There's nothing to see here from a fantasy perspective.

    From RotoBaller

Anibal Sanchez May 24 4:10pm ET

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez (hamstring) is throwing a simulated game on Friday. The veteran right-hander is hoping to return to the rotation at some point next week, as his hamstring injury wasn't very serious. However, fantasy owners will want to steer clear of him. The 35-year-old is 0-6 on the season with a 5.10 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 41 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings over his nine starts. There's almost zero upside left in his right arm nowadays.

    From RotoBaller

Carlos Correa May 24 4:10pm ET

Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa will have a favorable matchup Friday against Chris Sale and the Red Sox. It isn't often that facing Sale could be favorable for an opposing hitter but Correa is slashing .356/.420/.689 against lefties this season with eight extra-base hits in 45 at-bats. Correa is also producing at Minute Maid Park this season, posting a .965 OPS through 24 home games. The talented shortstop is also one of the few Astros hitters to have hit a home run off of Sale in their career. The Astros run out a potent offense night after night but Correa is the choice in DFS for Friday.

    From RotoBaller

Troy Tulowitzki May 24 4:10pm ET

New York Yankees shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (calf) had nine plate appearances in his first simulated game on Friday since re-injuring his left calf. He has not played for the Yankees since April 3 but could start a rehab assignment next week. Tulo has been taking grounders at shortstop, third and second base. At this point, it looks like Didi Gregorius (elbow) will make it back before Tulowitzki, so Tulo will have to serve in a utility infield role upon his return. The oft-injured veteran just doesn't have much left these days and should be left to the waiver wire.

Chad Wallach May 24 4:03pm ET

Miami Marlins C Chad Wallach (concussion) was placed on the seven-day concussion list Friday, May 24. The Marlins also designated OF Isaac Galloway for assignment.

Isaac Galloway May 24 4:03pm ET

Miami Marlins C Chad Wallach (concussion) was placed on the seven-day concussion list Friday, May 24. The Marlins also designated OF Isaac Galloway for assignment.

Didi Gregorius May 24 4:00pm ET

New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius (elbow), who is recovering from Tommy John surgery last October, served as the designated hitter in his fourth extended spring training game on Friday. He will start a rehab assignment with High-A Tampa on Saturday and is hoping to return around mid-June. My timing is not there yet, Gregorius said of his hitting. But defensively Im good. Arm and everything feels good. Gregorius will return to starting shortstop duties when he's ready, which will push Gleyber Torres back to second base. He should be stashed in all leagues, as he can be a difference-maker at the position when he's healthy.
