Welington Castillo May 25 12:00pm ET

The Chicago White Sox placed catcher Welington Castillo (head) on the seven-day concussion injured list on Saturday and called up catcher Seby Zavala from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move, according to a source. Castillo took a foul tip off his mask on Friday night and had to leave the game early. He's done very little in 2019, hitting just .176/.286/.318 with three home runs and 10 RBI in 85 at-bats. James McCann has been the much better offensive talent and will be the primary catcher going forward with Zavala backing him up.

Tim Collins May 25 11:53am ET

The Chicago Cubs recalled RPs Tim Collins and Dillon Maples from Class AAA Iowa Saturday, May 25. In corresponding moves, RP James Norwood and OF Mark Zagunis were optioned to Iowa.

Mark Zagunis May 25 11:53am ET

The Chicago Cubs recalled RPs Tim Collins and Dillon Maples from Class AAA Iowa Saturday, May 25. In corresponding moves, RP James Norwood and OF Mark Zagunis were optioned to Iowa.

Mike Yastrzemski May 25 11:50am ET

The San Francisco Giants called up outfielder Mike Yastrzemski from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday after he spent seven seasons in the minor leagues. He's the grandson of Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski and was hitting .316 with 12 home runs in his time in the minors this year. Given how bad the San Francisco offense has been this year, there's a chance that Yastrzemski sees decent playing time in the Giants outfield if he produces. You might want to consider him in deep NL-only leagues.

Delino DeShields May 25 11:50am ET

The Texas Rangers optioned outfielder Delino DeShields back to the minors on Friday night in order to make room for shortstop Elvis Andrus (hamstring), who will come off the injured list on Saturday. DeShields played the ninth inning as a defensive replacement on Friday. He was slashing .211/.318/.421 at Triple-A Nashville in nine games before being called up this week. DeShields has speed, but he hasn't been able to get on base frequently enough to help fantasy owners out while in the big leagues. He'll be back again this season, but you can leave him to the waiver wire for now.

Michael Conforto May 25 11:50am ET

New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto (concussion) is back to "100 percent," he said on Friday. He expects to come off the seven-day injured list either Saturday or Sunday, as soon as the league approves him. I feel ready to go, Conforto said. But were going to be smart about it. Conforto restarted full baseball activities on Friday, taking batting practice with teammates. He was hitting .271 with nine home runs and a .926 OPS in 42 games before his head injury. Return him to lineups in all leagues when he makes his return. J.D. Davis has been playing left field mainly with Conforto out, but he'll go back to somewhat of a timeshare at third base with Todd Frazier.

Thyago Vieira May 25 11:43am ET

The Chicago White Sox optioned RP Thyago Vieira to Class AAA Charlotte Saturday, May 25.

    J.P. Crawford May 25 11:30am ET

Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford went 2-for-3 in Friday's game versus the Athletics with a pair of free passes upping his average to .271 on the season. The 24-year-old now has hits in seven of his last eight games although he's struggling to find opportunities to score and drive in runs at the bottom of the lineup. Crawford has taken over the reigns as the starting shortstop giving him some appeal in AL-only leagues. He doesn't run much or hit for much power limiting his overall fantasy value, but if he continues to find success with the bat, the counting stats will surely follow.

Domingo Santana May 25 11:30am ET

Seattle Mariners outfielder Domingo Santana recorded a double and a pair of singles in a losing effort Friday night. He also scored a run and drove in his 39th RBI of the season busting out of a 3-for-21 skid. Santana's play has been streaky this season with his hits usually coming in bunches followed by spans of hitless games as his average sits at a healthy .274. He hasn't hit a homer since May 9, but thankfully he's still managing ways to drive in runs keeping his fantasy value intact. Santana's ceiling is high as a 26-year-old despite his slumps and tendencies to strikeout, making him valuable in all formats.

Derek Fisher May 25 11:23am ET

The Houston Astros are expected to recall OF Derek Fisher from Class AAA Round Rock Saturday, May 25, according to multiple sources.

Derek Fisher May 25 11:20am ET

The Houston Astros have recalled right fielder Derek Fisher from Triple-A Round Rock. He replaces outfielder George Springer, who is expected to be placed on the injured list after leaving Friday's game with a hamstring injury, on the active roster. Fisher was really raking it with the Express to the tune of .314/.379/.555 with eight home runs and six steals in 154 plate appearances. This will be the 25-year-old's second stint with the big league club this year as he spent two days with the team earlier in the month, going 0-for-1 at the plate in two appearances. He is expected to compete with Michael Brantley, Josh Reddick, Jake Marisnick and Tony Kemp for at-bats. While Fisher has yet to get on track at the major league level in three years -- hitting just .195 with a 37.9 percent strikeout rate -- his combination of power and speed could be useful for fantasy owners in deeper leagues depending on the amount of playing time he receives.

Bryce Harper May 25 11:10am ET

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper went 1-for-4 with two RBI and two strikeouts Friday night in Milwaukee. Harper drove in the Phillies first run of the game with a sacrifice fly and added an RBI double in the fifth inning. Unfortunately for Harper he also struck out twice in the game bringing his strikeout rate on the season to an astronomical 30.1 percent. That strikeout rate combined with his 11.1 percent infield-fly-ball rate means over 41 percent of his plate appearances are ending in automatic outs. Fantasy owners can only hope Harper turns it around soon. The Phillies are scheduled to face a right-handed pitcher in their next five games so hopefully, the lefty-swinging Harper can get something going in those games.

Rhys Hoskins May 25 10:50am ET

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored Friday at Milwaukee. It was Hoskins' first multi-hit game since May 8, a span in which he's hit a paltry .164. The main issue for Hoskins has been the strikeouts. He's whiffing at a career-high 25.5 percent rate this season. If he can cut back on the strikeouts the rest of his numbers look pretty good. He's making hard contact at an elite rate of 47.6 and hitting almost 50 percent fly balls. This has lead to a very good .519 slugging percentage. Despite the recent slump Hoskins appears to be fine. This wouldn't be a bad time to make a buy-low trade offer if the Hoskins owner is frustrated with the recent lack of production.

Willson Contreras May 25 10:30am ET

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras will sit for a second consecutive day on Saturday versus the Reds. Its odd that one of the Cubs best offensive players has been out without an injury for two straight days, but manager Joe Maddon prefers to use Victor Caratini behind the plate when Yu Darvish is on the mound. Contreras pinch-hit Friday and picked up a RBI. Caratini will bat sixth versus Tyler Mahle and is an intriguing cheaper option in DFS leagues.

Jackie Bradley Jr. May 25 10:20am ET

Boston Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. hit his third home run in five games, in a 4-3 loss to Houston Friday night. The 29-year-old didn't club his first home run until May 20 but he now has three in a week. Bradley is certainly capable of hitting the long ball, tallying 13 and 17 in the past two seasons, respectively. While he'll likely never get back to the 26 he hit in 2016, it seems the outfielder is slowly finding himself at the plate. A .170/.259/.272 clip isn't effective at all for season-long fantasy, but if you want to ride the hot hand in DFS for a dirt cheap price, Bradley has been a shot-in-the-dark option of late.

Chris Sale May 25 10:10am ET

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale lasted six innings Friday, allowing four runs, only two of which were earned, in a 4-3 loss to Houston. Sale punched out five and walked two, while also surrendering his 10th home run of the year. The southpaw threw just 56 of 89 pitches for strikes, including just seven swinging strikes. The Astros benefited from Boston errors in the second and fourth innings, which pushed them out to an early 3-0 lead. It wasn't a bad start by any means, but it was a return to earth for the 30-year-old, after posting a 69:11 K:BB with just 10 earned runs over his past six starts. His record sits at 1-6, but five of those losses came in the first month of the season, when the Sox were struggling as a team. He'll get the Indians Wednesday, where he'll have the chance to get back to double-digit strikeouts and should be a popular DFS option.

Mike Clevinger May 25 10:03am ET

Cleveland Indians RHP Mike Clevinger (back) will head to Arizona for extended spring training Saturday, May 25, in order to see some game action before beginning a rehab assignment.

Fernando Tatis Jr. May 25 10:03am ET

San Diego Padres SS Fernando Tatis Jr. (hamstring) has been participating in extended spring training games at the organization's complex in Peoria, Ariz. However, there is no timetable for his return.
