David Price May 25 9:13pm ET

Boston Red Sox LHP David Price (illness) was removed from his start against the Houston Astros Saturday, May 25, with flu-like symptoms.

Gregory Soto May 25 9:13pm ET

Detroit Tigers LHP Gregory Soto was optioned to Class AAA Toledo Saturday, May 25.

Tyler Mahle May 25 8:30pm ET

Cincinnati Reds right-hander Tyler Mahle had a rough time against the Chicago Cubs in his Saturday start. Mahle coughed up six runs in five innings while striking out five and walking one. His main issue was the home run ball, as he allowed three on the afternoon. Despite the poor outing, Mahle has been solid for the Reds this season, posting a 4.15 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 59 strikeouts in 56 1/3 innings of work. He isn't a must-own, but he's a decent streaming option when the matchup is right. He will take on the Washington Nationals on Friday.

Tucker Barnhart May 25 8:30pm ET

Cincinnati Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart went 3-for-4 with a double, a homer, two runs, and two RBI in an 8-6 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. After the big afternoon, Barnhart is hitting .195 with a .643 OPS, five homers, 16 runs, and 14 RBI. The veteran catcher is not known for his bat, as his career high in homers is 10, set in 2018. Despite the low average, he shouldn't have much trouble eclipsing that number this season. He isn't of much fantasy interest outside of two-catcher and deep, NL-only formats.

    C.J. Cron May 25 8:00pm ET

Minnesota Twins first baseman C.J. Cron stayed red-hot at the plate in an 8-1 win over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. Cron went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs, and four RBI in the win. The slugger has been locked in at the plate over the past 15 games, hitting .355 with six homers, 15 runs, and 15 RBI. Still available in just under half of Yahoo leagues, Cron is a priority waiver add if he's still out there in your league. He will face off against White Sox starter Dylan Covey on Sunday in a favorable matchup.

    From RotoBaller

Kyle Gibson May 25 7:50pm ET

Minnesota Twins right-hander Kyle Gibson was dominant in an 8-1 win over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. Gibson spun seven innings of one-run ball, striking out nine and allowing just five hits. His only mistake was a solo homer off of the bat of Jose Abreu. Gibson earned the win, improving his record to 5-2 with a 4.08 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 60 strikeouts in 57 1/3 innings of work. While Gibson is just inconsistent enough to preclude him from every-week starter status, he is a high-end streamer in any and all good matchups. He will take the mound against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday.

Taylor Cole May 25 7:33pm ET

Los Angeles Angels RP Taylor Cole was recalled from Class AAA Salt Lake Saturday, May 25. The team also optioned RP Luke Bard to Class AAA Salt Lake.

Luis Garcia May 25 7:23pm ET

Los Angeles Angels RHP Matt Harvey (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, May 25, because of an upper back strain. The team also activated RP Luis Garcia (back) from the 10-day injured list.

Los Angeles Angels RHP Matt Harvey (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, May 25, because of an upper back strain. The team also activated RP Luis Garcia (back) from the 10-day injured list.

Tyler Chatwood May 25 7:20pm ET

Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Tyler Chatwood picked up his first save of the season on Saturday versus the Reds. Chatwood allowed two hits, but threw a scoreless frame. The right-hander continues to pitch well out of the bullpen for the Cubs and owns a 2.76 ERA, but it is unlikely he will get many save opportunities as he has been the Cubs long man out of the bullpen and Pedro Strop (hamstring) is close to returning from a hamstring injury.

Kyle Seager May 25 7:10pm ET

Seattle Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager went 2-for-4 with a run in his first game back from a partially torn tendon in his hand. The journeyman infielder underwent surgery at the beginning of the season to repair his hand miraculously marking his first trip to an injured list in his major league career. Seager's production has remained consistent across his seven seasons in the bigs making him a viable starter in mixed leagues. There could be some slow progress to his power as hand injuries can linger, but his bat in the middle of the Mariners lineup will help his counting stats blossom.

    From RotoBaller

Yusei Kikuchi May 25 7:10pm ET

Seattle Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi had an afternoon to forget versus the Athletics Saturday. He failed to make it through four innings giving up five runs on 10 hits with only one strikeout on the day. One of his runs was unearned, but this outing snapped a streak of four starts where he gave up three runs or less. Kikuchi is now 3-2 on the season and holds a 3.82 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 50 strikeouts in 63.2 IP. The rookie is worth hanging on to in all formats although wins may become more scarce with the Mariners offense failing to provide the same run support that they were contributing early in the year. Kikuchi's next start will come next week versus the Angels, although his "short" start will be soon on the horizon.

Austin Hedges May 25 6:40pm ET

San Diego Padres catcher Austin Hedges unloaded for a grand slam off of Blue Jays starter Edwin Jackson Saturday afternoon. He's now homered in back-to-back games as he now has six on the year with 15 RBI. Despite the offense scoring 19 runs, Hedges' only other productive at-bat came when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded as he wore a golden sombrero with four strikeouts on the day. He's batting on the interstates with a .195 batting average providing fantasy value solely in NL-only leagues. The 26-year-old remains the number one backstop in town but isn't worth roster consideration until he shows more consistency at the plate.

    From RotoBaller

Patrick Corbin May 25 6:40pm ET

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Patrick Corbin threw the team's first complete game shutout of the season Saturday in a 5-0 win against the Miami Marlins. Corbin wasn't his usual self, striking out only five, but got three double play ground balls and allowed just four hits and a walk while throwing 116 pitches. With the Nationals bullpen a shambles, Corbin delivered a much-needed performance, and put his previous outing (5 IP, 4 ER) in the rear view mirror. He goes to Cincinnati to take on the Reds next, where as usual he should be started in all leagues.

Lonnie Chisenhall May 25 6:33pm ET

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Lonnie Chisenhall (hand, calf) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Saturday, May 25.

Eric Hosmer May 25 6:30pm ET

San Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer was in the middle of the team's offensive outburst Saturday going 3-for-5 with three runs. He homered in the eighth inning and added a pair of singles as he now sports a healthy .292/.344/.462 slash line with eight long balls and 30 RBI. Hosmer has bounced back this season with an improved lineup around him after hitting only .253 a year ago. He's not your prototypical power hitting first baseman, but he'll fill up all roto categories admirably. Look for Hosmer to keep rolling into next week when the Friars head to Yankee Stadium for a three-game series.

    From RotoBaller

Wil Myers May 25 6:30pm ET

San Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers found his stroke Saturday afternoon teeing off twice against the Blue Jays finishing the day with four runs and four RBI. He now has nine homers on the season as he finished the day with three walks and a hit-by-pitch reaching base in all six plate appearances. It's been a disappointing season for Myers overall slashing .232/.316/.445 with 19 RBI and 25 runs, although he's managed to stay healthy this year which has always been his biggest knock against him. Myers had gone hitless in his last five starts, and hopefully, this outing helps jumpstart his year after getting demoted to the bottom third of the lineup. There's plenty of season left so owners should remain patient with the 28-year-old.
