Ross Stripling Jul 19 10:30am ET

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Ross Stripling allowed three runs - two earned - on five hits through five innings of work during a 7-6 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. He left the game in line for the win, but the bullpen failed to deliver. Stripling has served as a reliever and a starter this season. As a starter, he owns a 2-2 record to go along with a 3.54 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and a 58/13 K/BB rate. He will likely stay in the rotation as Rich Hill (forearm) has a long way to go in his injury recovery. Stripling is worthy of ownership in the majority of mixed leagues. He will face the Los Angeles Angels in his next projected start.

Alex Verdugo Jul 19 10:30am ET

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Alex Verdugo was 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk during Thursday's 7-6 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. The 23-year-old has broken out this season, slashing .304/.352/.505 with 12 HRs, 44 RBI, and four stolen bases through 299 at-bats. Verdugo has become an everyday player for an incredibly deep Dodgers' team. He is worthy of ownership in the majority of fantasy formats.

    From RotoBaller

Kike Hernandez Jul 19 10:20am ET

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Kike Hernandez was 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Thursday's 7-6 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. The 27-year-old is batting .347 over his last 15 games, tallying 10 RBI in the process. Hernandez is slashing .235/.309/.435 on the season with 16 HRs and 51 RBI. He was dismal during May and June but has started to come to life in July. With Chris Taylor (forearm) sidelined for the foreseeable future, Hernandez will see steady playing time. He is worthy of a pickup in deeper formats.

Joey Votto Jul 19 9:10am ET

Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 1-for-4 with an RBI in a 7-4 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. The RBI gives him just 24 on the year, to go along with a .257 average, eight homers, and 46 runs. He has been slumping lately, hitting just .207 over his past 15 games. Sadly, Votto appears to be done as a fantasy asset. Usually among the league leaders in walks, Votto is walking at just an 11.5% rate. That would be the second-worst walk rate of his career if the season ended today. He doesn't need to be owned in fantasy outside of deep National League only formats.

Eddie Rosario Jul 19 8:20am ET

Minnesota Twins outfielder Eddie Rosario hit a pinch-hit, three-run homer in a 6-3 win over the Oakland A's on Thursday. Rosario gave way to Jake Cave in the starting lineup but entered in the seventh inning. He promptly blasted an offering from Yusmeiro Petit over the fence for his 21st homer of the season. Rosario missed about three weeks with an ankle injury, having just been activated from the injured list on Tuesday. Overall, Rosario is hitting .284 with 53 runs and 64 RBI this season. He remains a must-start fantasy outfielder.

Chris Sale Jul 19 2:57am ET

Boston Red Sox's SP Chris Sale recorded 12 strikeouts in 6 innings with the win in a 5-0 win over the Blue Jays on Thursday, Jul. 18.

Trevor Bauer Jul 19 2:41am ET

Indians' SP Trevor Bauer recorded 10 strikeouts in 6.2 innings collecting the win in a 6-3 win over the Tigers on Thursday, Jul. 18.

Alex Bregman Jul 19 2:40am ET

With the Astros already leading five to zero, Alex Bregman put one of the final nails in Angels pitcher Matt Harvey's coffin of a start, hitting a 408-foot home run when the former Dark Knight tried to sneak a flat 91 mph fastball straight down the middle of the plate. Thursday's blast off of Harvey gave Bregman his team-leading 25th home run, along with 70 runs scored and 61 RBI. Only six home runs shy of last year's career-high 31 round-trippers, Bregman continues to show why he's not only one of fantasy's best assets but is also one of the best hitters in baseball.

    From RotoBaller

Jonathan Schoop Jul 19 2:03am ET

Minnesota Twins 2B Jonathan Schoop (abdomen) missed his second consecutive game Thursday, July 18.

George Springer Jul 19 2:00am ET

With the Astros already leading the Los Angeles Angels two to zero in the second inning, George Springer kicked off the runs parade against Angels starter Matt Harvey, hitting a 368-foot round-tripper to the opposite field on a center-cut Harvey fastball. Harvey would later leave the game after giving up six runs in five innings while Springer would leave the game with his fourth home run in as many games. Since returning from a hamstring injury on June 25th, Springer is slashing .286/.390/.486 and looks to continue his recent power surge against the Rangers this weekend in an all-Texas matchup.
