Estevan Florial May 15 10:30am ET

New York Yankees outfielder Estevan Florial was promoted to the team's Triple-A site on Friday. Florial has gotten off to a hot start at the dish for the Yankees' Double-A affiliate, clubbing four home runs in his first nine games played. The 23-year-old has only played a couple of weeks above A-ball due to injuries but is now only a step away from the majors. It's probably premature to expect Florial to be called up to the big leagues this season, though, with Aaron Hicks (wrist) potentially sidelined for a while and Clint Frazier and Brett Gardner underperforming, it certainly shouldn't be completely ruled out. Florial has 20-homer, 20-stolen base upside and has shown the ability to hit for average.

Donaldson supplied the only offense of the night with the Twins' bats going quiet- as he belted a solo shot off of Frankie Montas in the sixth inning. The homer traveled 381 feet at an exit velocity of 104 MPH, one of two batted balls that was hit 100 MPH or harder by the veteran third baseman. Donaldson is slashing .279/.364/.488 with four homers and 14 RBI and is on-pace for the lowest strikeout rate of his career. He's hitting the ball harder than ever and could be on the verge of one of his finest big league seasons, so long as he stays healthy.

Ender Inciarte May 15 10:03am ET

Matt Shoemaker May 15 10:00am ET

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker took his fourth loss of the season in Friday's 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Athletics. Shoemaker pitched six innings but gave up five earned runs on five hits, striking out four while walking a pair. The nine-year veteran made it through four frames relatively unscathed but allowed a pair of two-run homers in the fifth and sixth. Shoemaker now owns a 6.62 ERA and is allowing a career-worst 2.6 home runs per nine innings. Given his injury history, it's not out of the question to suspect there's an underlying issue- though whether it's injury or ineffectiveness, he could soon find himself out of the rotation if he doesn't begin to put together some more consistent results. Shoemaker shouldn't be started in any formats in his next outing against the White Sox.

    From RotoBaller

Jakob Junis May 15 9:50am ET

Kansas City Royals pitcher Jakob Junis was given a spot start in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox. He struggled in the outing, lasting just 1 1/3 innings and allowing four hits and three runs (two earned) while striking out one. Junis started off the year strong and pitched his way into the starting rotation. He then struggled and was moved back to the bullpen, where his struggles continued. Over 11 games and 29.1 innings this year, he has a 5.52 ERA and 1.36 WHIP.
