Luis Garcia Oct 16 9:23pm ET

Houston Astros RHP Luis H. Garcia (knee) exited Game 2 of the American League Championship Series against the Boston Red Sox Saturday, Oct. 16, with right knee discomfort.

Max Scherzer Oct 16 8:50pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Max Scherzer is starting Game 2 of the National League Championship Series against the Atlanta Braves on Sunday. The 37-year-old pitched to a 2.46 ERA and a 2.97 FIP during the regular season while striking out 236 batters and surrendering 36 walks. In 12.1 innings this postseason, the veteran has struck out 16 batters while surrendering six hits, four walks, two earned runs, and a home run. Sunday will mark the veteran's third start of the year against Atlanta. In 12 innings against the National League East club during the regular season, Scherzer struck out 18 batters while giving up eight hits, four earned runs, and four home runs.

Jose Hernandez Oct 16 8:50pm ET

Houston Astros starting pitcher Jose Urquidy will start Game 3 of the American League Championship Series against the Boston Red Sox on Monday. Urquidy will be making his first start of the postseason after pitching to a 3.62 ERA and a 4.14 FIP to go along with 90 strikeouts and 19 walks in 107 innings during the regular season. The right-hander made one start against Boston earlier this year on May 31, allowing three hits, one earned run, and a walk in six innings while striking out a season-high nine batters.

Cody Bellinger Oct 16 8:10pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder and first baseman Cody Bellinger isn't in the starting lineup for the first game of the National League Championship Series. The 26-year-old is hitting .294 with a .368 on-base percentage in 19 plate appearances this postseason, but he'll move to the bench on Saturday. Los Angeles is starting Albert Pujols at first base with Mookie Betts, Chris Taylor, and AJ Pollock starting from right to left in the outfield against the Atlanta Braves and left-hander Max Fried.

Albert Pujols Oct 16 8:00pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Albert Pujols is in the line lineup for Game 1 of the National League Championship Series on Saturday night. The Dodgers will take on the Atlanta Braves and left-hander Max Fried with Pujols starting at first base and batting sixth. The veteran hit .294 with a .336 on-base percentage and 13 home runs in 146 plate appearances during the regular season against left-handed pitchers. He's collected two hits in four postseason plate appearances for the Dodgers this year.

    From RotoBaller

AJ Pollock Oct 16 8:00pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder AJ Pollock is getting the start in left field for the first game of the National League Championship Series. Pollock is hitting seventh against the Atlanta Braves and left-handed starter Max Fried. In eight career plate appearances against Fried, the outfielder has recorded a pair of hits and a walk. Saturday marks a return to the lineup for the veteran, who wasn't in the starting lineup for either of the last two games of the Division Series.

Eddie Rosario Oct 16 8:00pm ET

Atlanta Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario is in the starting lineup for Game 1 of the National League Championship Series. The veteran is batting leadoff on Saturday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Reliever Corey Knebel will start the game for the Dodgers. While Rosario doesn't have a hit in four career plate appearances against Knebel, he does have a hit in each of his four postseason appearances this year. The 30-year-old hit .259 with a .305 on-base percentage, 14 home runs, and 11 stolen bases in 412 plate appearances during the regular season.

Luis Garcia Oct 16 6:33pm ET

Houston Astros RHP Luis H. Garcia (knee) left Game 2 of the American League Championship Series early Saturday, Oct. 16, because of knee discomfort.

Kike Hernandez Oct 16 5:30pm ET

Boston Red Sox utility man Enrique Hernandez continued his torrid hitting in Game 1 of the ALCS Friday, recording yet another four-hit game with two home runs. He finished just a triple short of the cycle. With his two runs and two RBI, Hernandez has now gone 14-for-28 with four homers, seven runs, and eight RBI in five postseason games this year. No player has ever had as many hits, home runs, or RBI in any four-game postseason stretch. Hernandez is opening eyes on the biggest of stages, and fantasy managers can expect him to maintain his role at the top of the Boston lineup in 2022.

Chris Sale Oct 16 5:20pm ET

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale made his second start of the postseason in Game 1 of the ALCS against the Houston Astros Friday, and once again he did not last long. Sale recorded just eight outs, allowing one run on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts. While he looked better than his one-inning appearance against the Tampa Bay Rays in the division series, he still threw predominantly fastballs and sliders, and remains a major question mark for Boston going forward. He stands to get another start in the series, unless manager Alex Cora decides to go another direction.

Chris Martin Oct 16 4:00pm ET

Atlanta Braves reliever Chris Martin is on the NLCS roster to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to the team. Martin couldn't secure a spot on the division series roster but did have a productive season on the mound. He posted a 3.95 ERA with one save in 43.1 innings, although his strikeout rate was down from 30.3% last year to 18.2% this year. The 35-year old veteran takes Dylan Lee's spot on the roster after Lee didn't pitch in the NLDS. As well, utility player Johan Camargo takes outfielder Terrance Gore's spot. Camargo only played in 15 games this season and couldn't get a hit in 18 plate appearances.

    From RotoBaller

David Price Oct 16 3:50pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander David Price is not on the roster for the NLCS against the Atlanta Braves, according to the team. Price did make an appearance on the divisional series roster but couldn't get into a game. The veteran had an average season, posting a 4.03 ERA with just 58 strikeouts across 73.2 innings. He was in a relief role most of the season, making just 11 starts. He was a bit better as a starter, pitching to a 3.92 ERA across 41.1 innings. Right-hander Evan Phillips and lefty Justin Bruihl are new additions to the roster that will likely pitch out of the bullpen. Phillips produced a 3.38 ERA in eight appearances, and Bruihl had a 2.89 ERA in 21 games during the regular season.

    From RotoBaller

Christian Vazquez Oct 16 3:40pm ET

Boston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez will start game two of the ALCS on the bench against the Houston Astros, according to MLB.com. Vazquez slashed .258/.308/.352 with six home runs during the regular season and has hit .300 with a .750 OPS thus far in the playoffs. Kevin Plawecki will catch in his place with Nathan Eovaldi on the bump. The 30-year old backstop hit .287 with three home runs and a .349 OBP in 64 games this season. He was very strong at the dish after the All-Star break, posting a .792 OPS. Plawecki caught Nathan Eovaldi's last start, so it seems he's likely more of a personal catcher right now.

    From RotoBaller

Max Muncy Oct 16 3:20pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy (elbow) is not listed on the roster for the NLCS against the Atlanta Braves, according to the team. Muncy also missed the entire NLDS and Wild Card game after dislocating his left shoulder during a play in the season finale. After going for an MRI, he will not require surgery, but it is unsure when or if he'll be back before the end of the postseason. He put up a strong year at the plate, slashing .249/.368/.527 with 36 HRs, 94 RBI, and 95 runs across 144 games. While Muncy is out, expect Gavin Lux to get more reps in the outfield with Cody Bellinger playing first base. Lux slashed .242/.328/.364 during 102 regular-season games but has hit .333 with a .788 OPS this postseason.

    From RotoBaller

Corey Knebel Oct 16 3:10pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Corey Knebel will start the first game of the NLCS against Max Fried and the Atlanta Braves. It will be Knebel's second start of the postseason after he opened game five of the division series with an inning of no-run ball. The 29-year old had a shortened but successful season on the mound pitching to a 2.45 ERA, 29.7 K%, and 0.97 WHIP with three saves over 25.2 IP. Expect another brief start for the reliever with Tony Gonsolin pitching in a bulk role out of the bullpen. Gonsolin had an injury-riddled season but still posted a 3.23 ERA with 65 strikeouts in 13 starts and 55.2 innings.
