Kansas City Royals infielder/outfielder Jonathan India (elbow/forearm) exited early against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday after taking a Max Scherzer pitch off the left elbow/forearm. The Royals moved Adam Frazier to second to replace India and brought in Nick Loftin to play left field in the fifth inning. India's now undergoing further evaluation. The 28-year-old went 1-for-1 on Saturday and is now hitting a disappointing .242/.323/.344 with five homers, 32 RBI, 48 runs scored, and no stolen bases over 440 plate appearances.

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Shane Bieber (elbow) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday. It'll be Bieber's first start as part of the Toronto organization, which acquired him from the Cleveland Guardians before Thursday's trade deadline. The Blue Jays took a gamble on Bieber, who hasn't pitched in the majors since April 2024 as a result of Tommy John surgery. The former AL Cy Young winner has been dominant in a total of four rehab starts among the rookie, High-A, and Double-A levels this year. Across 11 1/3 innings, Bieber has put up a 1.59 ERA with 21 strikeouts and one walk. With Bieber aiming for five innings and 70 to 75 pitches Sunday, he's closing in on his Blue Jays debut.

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell (shoulder) made his long-awaited return from the injured list Saturday after missing four months with shoulder inflammation. Facing the Tampa Bay Rays, one of his former teams, Snell tossed five innings of five-hit, three-run ball with eight strikeouts and no walks on 86 pitches (57 strikes). Snell surrendered two home runs to Yandy Diaz, but he was otherwise sharp in a 4-0 loss. While Snell fell to 1-1 on the year in his third start and first since April 2, his strikeout total, command, average fastball velocity (95 mph), and 19 whiffs were all encouraging signs. The Dodgers are easing the 32-year-old back in as part of a six-man rotation. He's scheduled to toe the rubber again next Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Boston Red Sox infielder Marcelo Mayer (wrist) will receive an anti-inflammation injection in his right wrist on Saturday, manager Alex Cora announced. "We have to wait three days to see if it works," Cora said. "And then he starts doing baseball activities and see how he reacts to it." With Mayer in limbo for the next few days, his timeline to return remains unclear. The 22-year-old rookie amassed 144 plate appearances and hit .228/.272/.402 with four homers, 10 RBI, and 20 runs scored in 44 games before the Red Sox placed him on the 15-day injured list on July 24.
From RotoBaller
Miami Marlins outfielder Derek Hill (finger) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday. The Marlins placed Hill on the 10-day injured list on July 22 with a sprained middle finger on his left hand, but it doesn't appear he'll miss much more time. The 29-year-old has hit a woeful .211/.276/.322 with two homers, seven RBI, 14 runs scored, and six steals in 100 plate appearances this season.
From RotoBaller
Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (calf) will sit for the third straight game on Saturday against the Seattle Mariners as he deals with calf soreness. Josh Smith will fill in at the hot corner and lead off versus right-hander Luis Castillo, while Rowdy Tellez will take first and bat seventh. The good news for Jung is that it doesn't seem as if he'll require a trip to the 10-day injured list. He did some sprints in the outfield on Saturday and said afterward that he feels "better." Manager Bruce Bochy stated that Jung could be available to pinch-hit if needed. Jung has taken 330 trips to the plate this season and slashed an underwhelming .249/.297/.385 with 10 homers, 40 RBI, 31 runs scored, and four stolen bases. However, the 27-year-old went a red-hot 11-for-30 (.367) with two HRs, five RBI, and six runs in a nine-game stretch to end July. Jung will try to pick up where he left off when he comes back, perhaps on Sunday.

The Texas Rangers announced that they have placed outfielder Evan Carter (back) on the 10-day injured list with back spasms and recalled fellow outfielder Alejandro Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock. Carter is heading to the IL for the second time this year after previously sitting out the end of May with a quad strain. The 22-year-old has dealt with a laundry list of injuries in his career, including a lumbar sprain last season, and his health issues have prevented him from realizing his potential. Carter has appeared in just 55 games this season and hit .238/.323/.381 with four homers, 21 RBI, 27 runs, and 12 steals over 189 plate appearances. Wyatt Langford is starting in center in Carter's place on Saturday against Seattle Mariners right-hander Luis Castillo. Osuna is playing left field, and Adolis Garcia is in right.

The Colorado Rockies placed right-handed pitcher Antonio Senzatela (finger) on the 15-day injured list with a right middle finger blister. The designation to the injured list comes one day after he was shelled for eight earned runs in 2/3 of an inning against the Pirates. It is unclear if his blistered finger was the reason for his recent struggles, but he will miss at least two weeks of action nonetheless. Over 103 innings pitched this season, the 30-year-old has posted a 7.34 ERA, a 1.91 WHIP, all while striking out just 55 batters. He can remain on the waiver wire in most leagues.
From RotoBaller
Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter (back) is dealing with back spasms and will not play Saturday against the Seattle Mariners, according to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. Carter may head to the 10-day injured list, but the Rangers haven't made a decision yet. This is a concerning issue for Carter, who has a history of back problems and missed most of the 2024 season with a lumbar sprain. The 22-year-old was on the IL earlier this season with a quad strain and has batted a modest .238/.323/.381 with four homers, 21 RBI, 27 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases in a career-high 189 plate appearances. Carter was highly productive in June, but he has gone just 12-for-69 (.174) with no home runs in 22 games since July 4.

New York Mets right-hander Max Kranick (elbow) recently underwent surgery to repair his flexor tendon, according to Will Sammon of The Athletic. It was previously believed that Kranick would require Tommy John surgery for the second time, so this is positive news for the 28-year-old. While Kranick won't pitch again in 2025, he could return to the Mets' bullpen sometime next season. Kranick ended the year 3-2 with a 3.65 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP, 25:5 K:BB, and five holds in 37 innings.

Baltimore Orioles left-hander Cade Povich (hip) will come off the 15-day injured list to start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday, interim manager Tony Mansolino announced. It'll be the first start since June 16 for Povich, who has missed a month and a half with inflammation in his left hip. The 25-year-old went 2-5 with a 5.15 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and 68 strikeouts against 23 walks in 64 2/3 innings before he went on the IL. Povich built up to 86 pitches in his most recent rehab start, so he shouldn't face any restrictions against Philadelphia. The Phillies will be a tough draw for Povich, though, as they rank 10th in the majors in runs and own the league's seventh-best wOBA versus southpaws (.322).
From RotoBaller
Boston Red Sox right-hander Tanner Houck (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery, according to manager Alex Cora. He'll miss the rest of this season and possibly all of the 2026 campaign as a result. Houck was an All-Star last year, but he was unable to follow up on that performance during a nightmarish, injury-ravaged 2025. The 29-year-old made nine starts and went 0-3 with a ghastly 8.04 ERA, a 1.69 WHIP, and 32:17 K:BB over 43 2/3 innings before hitting the 15-day injured list May 14 with a flexor pronator strain. Houck tried to work his way back in the minors, where he also struggled, but the Red Sox had to shut him down a couple of weeks ago after he suffered a setback. While it's no surprise that Houck is done for this season, the hope was that he would avoid a Tommy John procedure and return sometime next year. Given the timing of this surgery, it now appears that Houck won't have a chance to come back to the majors until 2027.
From RotoBaller
Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Pena (hamstring) is not in the lineup Saturday against Boston Red Sox right-hander Walker Buehler. Carlos Correa will take over at short and hit third, while Ramon Urias will man third base and bat ninth. Pena left Friday's game early with hamstring cramps, but he was confident afterward that he would play Saturday. That won't be the case, and it's unclear if Pena's dealing with a serious injury or if the Astros are merely playing it safe with him. Pena just returned Friday after missing over a month with a small fracture in his rib. The additions of Correa and Urias, acquired before Thursday's trade deadline, soften the blow of Pena's absence for Houston.
From RotoBaller
The Baltimore Orioles scratched outfielder Tyler O'Neill (illness) because of an illness on Saturday against the Chicago Cubs. Gunnar Henderson will DH in O'Neill's place and hit third, and Luis Vazquez will handle shortstop and occupy the No. 9 position in the lineup. O'Neill struggled mightily earlier in the year and has missed a significant amount of time with injuries, but he has found his power stroke again over the past month. Since July 4, the 30-year-old has gone 14-for-58 with five homers, 11 RBI, and 10 runs scored in 17 games.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Phillies reliever Daniel Robert (finger) went on the 15-Day Injured List on Friday with a blister on his right middle finger. It's unclear how much time the right-handed reliever will miss, but blisters can tend to linger in length if they are not completely healed before a player begins pitching again. Robert has struggled as of late, having surrendered five earned runs over his last two appearances. Through twelve games this season, he sports a 27.3% strikeout rate, but an incredibly high 18.2% walk rate. He will look to return at some point this month and remain at the back of the Phillies' bullpen.
From RotoBaller
The Boston Red Sox have transferred pitcher Hunter Dobbins (knee) to the 60-day injured list to make room for the newly acquired Steven Matz. The rookie right-hander last pitched on July 11, and it was there that he suffered a torn right ACL while covering first base on a ground ball. He finished his rookie season with a 4.13 ERA over 61.0 innings pitched while posting a 17.6% strikeout rate and a 6.6% walk rate. He can be safely dropped in all redraft leagues.

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Emmet Sheehan will join the team's six-man starting rotation going forward and will start on Tuesday in L.A. against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register. Right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto will go on Sunday in the series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Tyler Glasnow will get Monday's series opener against the Cards. Shohei Ohtani will slot in on Wednesday for the series finale against St. Louis. The 25-year-old Sheehan will essentially be taking the rotation spot of Dustin May, who was traded to Boston this week. Tuesday's start against St. Louis will be his fifth start of the year. Sheehan has been decent in only six MLB outings in 2025, posting a 3.60 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 26:10 K:BB. He'll be useful for starting depth in deeper fantasy leagues until Roki Sasaki (shoulder) returns.
From RotoBaller
Seattle Mariners outfielder Victor Robles (shoulder) is targeting a return to the team in September. Robles has been throwing out to distances of 150 feet and hitting on the field this past week for the team. While he was said to feel around 80 percent healthy, the former Washington National aims to play again before the season ends. Robles has yet to slide or dive during pre-game workouts but remains positive in his desire to return. While the optimism remains, he is likely to have minimal fantasy impact, given how long he has been away and how little time remains in the season.
From RotoBaller
The Pittsburgh Pirates reinstated left-hander Ryan Borucki (back) from the 15-day injured list on Friday. Borucki will return to Pittsburgh's bullpen for the first time since he went on the IL in the middle of June with a lower-back injury. The 31-year-old will remain off the fantasy radar moving forward, even though the Pirates have more opportunity for late-inning work after they traded David Bednar to the New York Yankees at this week's deadline. Borucki, a former 15th-rounder by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2012, will return to a 5.26 ERA (4.31 FIP) and 1.25 WHIP with 22 strikeouts and 11 walks in 25 2/3 innings pitched this year. He has never saved a game in his eight major-league seasons and is unlikely to change that the rest of the way in 2025 with Dennis Santana now locked into the team's closer role.
From RotoBaller
Boston Red Sox right-handed pitcher Tanner Houck (elbow), who was recently transferred to the 60-day injured list, is unlikely to return to the team in 2025. Houck was all set to return late in July, but after suffering a setback in his rehab assignment, he was shut down indefinitely. If Houck does not return, he will finish the season with a very disappointing 8.04 ERA, a 1.69 WHIP, and a career-low 15.8% strikeout rate over 43 2/3 innings. It remains to be seen what his role will be with the Red Sox beyond this year, whether as a starter or a reliever.
