Golden State Warriors guard/forward Moses Moody has been diagnosed with a torn patellar tendon in his left knee, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Due to the injury, Moody's career-best season ends as he finishes with averages of 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals in 25.7 minutes per contest across 60 outings. With Moody out for the foreseeable future, Gui Santos, Gary Payton II and Will Richard are all candidates for larger roles.
Anthony Slater of ESPN.com reports that Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (knee) won't play on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets as he continues recovering from right knee soreness. Curry has been out of action since the beginning of February and it's unclear when he will return. Slater also noted that the 38-year-old hopes to participate in a scrimmage in the near future and see how the knee feels. In the meantime, Brandin Podziemski and De'Anthony Melton should continue seeing expanded backcourt roles and streaming appeal. Both guards offer fantasy value for scoring and assists.
According to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, Minnesota Timberwolves Head coach Chris Finch said guard Anthony Edwards (knee) is still just doing individual work as he rehabs the right knee. Edwards hasn't joined practice yet, so he definitely won't be available for Wednesday's game, and there isn't a timetable for when he will return. The 24-year-old star guard has already missed four straight games heading into Wednesday's matchup with Houston due to right knee inflammation. Julius Randle, Naz Reid, Ayo Dosunmu, and Bones Hyland will be relied upon to continue heavier workloads until Edwards returns.
Sacramento Kings forward/center Precious Achiuwa (back) was downgraded from questionable to out for Tuesday's game against Charlotte. Achiuwa has been playing significant minutes lately, reaching double-digit points in six straight games, highlighted by a 14-point, 15-rebound performance against the Nets in his most recent outing. With the veteran out on Tuesday, Dylan Cardwell, Doug McDermott, and Daeqwon Plowden (who was upgraded to available) will be in line for more minutes in this tough matchup against the Hornets.
Sacramento Kings guard Killian Hayes (foot) was downgraded from questionable to out for Tuesday's game against the Hornets. He left Sunday's win early due to foot soreness and will join Russell Westbrook (foot) on the sidelines. Without both veterans, Sacramento could let Devin Carter and Malik Monk carry more of the load. Carter is interesting for DFS and streaming usage since he had 16 points, five rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 27 minutes on Sunday. Monk dropped 32 points with seven threes and six assists in 30 minutes in that game as well, and he makes sense as a short-term pickup, or as a DFS play in this matchup with his former team on Tuesday.
Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Jaylon Tyson (toe) won't play on Tuesday against the Orlando Magic. He will miss a second consecutive game due to a bone bruise on his left big toe. While Tyson has played a significant role with the Cavaliers this season, the team can handle his absence well now that Max Strus has entered the rotation. The veteran sniper has averaged 8.8 points and 7.0 rebounds across his first four appearances of the season. Meanwhile, Keon Ellis has recently made a positive impact and will also help cover for Tyson's absence.
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen (knee) won't be available for a ninth consecutive game on Tuesday against the Orlando Magic. The big man landed on the shelf with right knee tendinitis at the start of the month and isn't in the lineup for the first leg of a back-to-back on Tuesday. Evan Mobley will continue to start at center, with Thomas Bryant providing cover off the bench. The bench role limits Bryant's fantasy value, but he was close to a double-double in Saturday's win over New Orleans, finishing with 11 points, eight rebounds, one assist, and one block in 15 minutes.
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (illness) will remain sidelined on Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Due to illness, Suggs was unable to play on Monday night versus Indiana, and the team has also quickly ruled him out for the second game of a back-to-back. Jevon Carter filled in for Suggs in the starting lineup against Indiana but was a massive disappointment. After scoring at least 10 points in four consecutive games, Carter managed just two points. To make things worse, he didn't register a single assist in 24 minutes. On Tuesday, Carter faces a much tougher matchup, making him a risky choice for fantasy managers.
Orlando Magic guard Anthony Black (abdomen) has been ruled out for Tuesday's Eastern Conference clash against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He suffered an abdominal strain earlier this month and will be unavailable for a 10th consecutive game. In his absence, Tristan da Silva will continue to start, and he will enter Tuesday's game with positive momentum. Da Silva finished as Orlando's second-highest scorer in Monday's 128-126 loss to Indiana, posting 21 points on 9-for-16 shooting. He has averaged 11.7 points and 4.3 rebounds as a starter this season.
Sacramento Kings guard/forward Nique Clifford (foot) will be re-evaluated in one week, Kevin John of ABC10 reports. He has been diagnosed with a mild midfoot sprain. Clifford will exit the lineup on Tuesday against the Charlotte Hornets, leaving the Kings without yet another starter. With him unavailable, Malik Monk and Devin Carter are poised for bigger roles in the backcourt. Daeqwon Plowden (foot) will also help cover for Clifford's absence. He is expected to return to the lineup after being handed a probable tag on the injury report.
Charlotte Hornets guard/forward Kon Knueppel (back) is considered probable for Tuesday's matchup with the Sacramento Kings. The 20-year-old rookie is dealing with a lower back issue, but it doesn't seem to be very serious. Knueppel has sat out just one game during his first NBA season, averaging 19.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. He will look to rebound from a poor performance on Tuesday, having tallied only nine points on 3-for-9 shooting in Saturday's win over Memphis.
Golden State Warriors guard/forward Moses Moody suffered a non-contact left knee injury in Monday's 137-131 overtime win against the Dallas Mavericks. He needed to be stretchered off the floor after being hurt with 1:13 left in overtime. This was Moody's first appearance in three weeks, having recovered from a wrist injury. The 23-year-old scored a team-high 23 points and had three rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks. Moody is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday. Unfortunately, it looks like his season is over. If that's the case, the Warriors are likely to bring Gui Santos back into the first unit. Gary Payton II and Will Richard are also candidates for larger roles.
Utah Jazz's F Ace Bailey scored 37 points on 11-of-21 shooting in a 127-143 loss to the Raptors on Monday, Mar. 23. Bailey is owned in only 69.2% leagues.
Rockets' C Alperen Sengun recorded a triple-double, finishing with 33 points, 10 assists and 13 rebounds in a 124-132 loss to Chicago on Monday, Mar. 23.
Houston's F Kevin Durant scored 40 points on 15-of-23 shooting in a 124-132 loss to Chicago on Monday, Mar. 23.
Milwaukee Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma (Achilles) won't be in the lineup on Monday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. The former Laker has been ruled out for the contest after carrying a questionable tag on the initial injury report. However, Kuzma's absence isn't unexpected, as he had to leave Saturday's win over Phoenix early due to soreness in his right Achilles. With Kuzma out, Pete Nance and Jericho Sims are likely to receive more work in the frontcourt.
Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (ankle) will play on Monday against the Milwaukee Bucks. The team has upgraded him from questionable to available. Leonard has recently been in and out of the lineup due to a left ankle sprain, but he will make a second consecutive appearance on Monday. The veteran star has been a beast offensively in his last five appearances, averaging 32.6 points in 31.1 minutes per game. The Bucks are one of the worst defensive teams in the league, so Leonard's scoring spree should continue on Monday night.
Los Angeles Clippers forward/center John Collins (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks. This is a bit surprising, as the team listed Collins as probable on the initial injury report. Kris Dunn or Jordan Miller will replace Collins in the first unit, while Nicolas Batum may also be more involved in the rotation. The Clippers have a great matchup on Monday against a struggling team that can't defend.
Dallas Mavericks forward Caleb Martin (heel) and guard Brandon Williams (concussion) won't play on Monday against the Golden State Warriors. Martin has been ruled out after being listed as questionable on the initial injury report, while the team has downgraded Williams from doubtful to out. Dallas will be without both players for the third consecutive game. Overall, Martin will miss his fourth straight contest. With the duo missing from the rotation, Ryan Nembhard, Klay Thompson, and Khris Middleton have an opportunity to play larger roles off the bench.
Golden State Warriors guard/forward Moses Moody (wrist) and guard De'Anthony Melton (hand) have been cleared to play on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks. Moody has missed 10 games due to a wrist sprain and was initially listed as questionable on the injury report. Meanwhile, the team has upgraded Melton's status from probable to available. The two will start the contest alongside Brandin Podziemski, Draymond Green, and Kristaps Porzingis. Gui Santos is dropping to the second unit, while Moody's return will also impact Will Richard's playing time.
