Donovan Mitchell Sat May 30 9:40am

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell is extension-eligible on July 7, and president of basketball operations Koby Altman made it clear the organization plans to keep building around him, according to cleveland.com's Chris Fedor. "He's our guy. Do we think we can win with him as the best player on a championship team? Yes," Altman said. The 29-year-old backed up that confidence with another high-end fantasy season, averaging 27.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 3.5 threes across 70 games. Cleveland's playoff run ended with a four-game Eastern Conference Finals sweep against New York, so the offseason focus now shifts to how Mitchell fits with James Harden and Evan Mobley. If the Cavaliers keep that core intact, Mitchell should remain the team's top scoring option and a strong early-round fantasy anchor.

Adou Thiero Sat May 30 9:30am

Los Angeles Lakers forward Adou Thiero had a quiet rookie season, but Silver Screen and Roll's Edwin Garcia wrote that the team should keep him in its long-term plans. The 22-year-old missed training camp and the start of the regular season while recovering from left knee surgery and later lost time to an MCL sprain. He logged only 25 regular-season games, averaging 1.9 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.4 assists in 6.0 minutes while shooting 51.6% from the field. There were still fantasy-relevant flashes, including a 25-point South Bay outing on 10-for-12 shooting and 5-for-5 from deep. Thiero needs a steadier jumper and a real rotation lane, but his rim pressure and defensive tools make him a summer watchlist name.

Kyrie Irving Sat May 30 9:00am

Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving (knee) said on a Friday Twitch stream that he's "close to being over at 100%" in his recovery, more than 14 months removed from surgery. The nine-time All-Star tore his left ACL in March 2025 and missed all of 2025-26, but general manager Mike Schmitz and president Masai Ujiri have backed his return rather than entertaining trade talk. No timetable is set, and Dallas doesn't open camp until late September, leaving runway for a full ramp-up. Before the injury, Irving averaged 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists across 50 games. Age 34 and coming off a torn ACL, he profiles as a draft-day discount rather than a top-tier guard, though Ujiri's plan to let him play off the ball next to Cooper Flagg protects both his efficiency and Flagg's on-ball value.

Ajay Mitchell Fri May 29 8:00pm

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Ajay Mitchell (calf) has been ruled out for Saturday's Game 7 against the San Antonio Spurs. The 23-year-old has been unavailable since aggravating the injury during Game 3, removing one of Oklahoma City's better bench scorers and secondary ball-handlers from the rotation. Mitchell averaged 13.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists during the regular season and 15.1 points with 4.3 assists in the playoffs before going down. With Jalen Williams (hamstring) also sidelined, Jared McCain and Cason Wallace should remain busy behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Mitchell Robinson Fri May 29 8:00pm

New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson (finger) underwent surgery on his broken right pinky and plans to play in Game 1 of the NBA Finals next Wednesday with a brace on his hand, ESPN's Shams Charania reports. The 28-year-old has been a low-usage piece all postseason, averaging 5.3 points and 5.5 rebounds in 14.2 minutes off the bench behind Karl-Anthony Towns. His value has always come from energy rebounding and rim protection rather than scoring, so the brace is the real question: a player whose calling card is securing the ball now has to do it with a protected hand. Even at full strength, he offers little beyond rebounds and blocks for fantasy purposes, and if the finger limits him, Ariel Hukporti is the only proven fallback at center for New York.

Jalen Williams Fri May 29 7:50pm

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams (hamstring) won't play in Saturday's Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals against San Antonio. The 25-year-old tried to return in Game 6, but he logged only 10 minutes and finished with one point and one assist before being ruled out again. Williams averaged 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.5 assists during the regular season, so Oklahoma City loses a key secondary creator. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander should handle even more late-clock work, while Jared McCain and Cason Wallace are in position for elevated backcourt minutes.

Jalen Williams Fri May 29 9:00am

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams produced one point and one assist in Thursday's 118-91 Game 6 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. He went 0-for-1 from the field and 1-for-2 at the line in only 10 minutes, returning after missing the previous three games with a hamstring strain. Williams also came off the bench for the first time since his rookie season, so this looked more like a controlled reintroduction than a normal workload. He averaged 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.5 assists during the regular season, but his Game 7 value depends heavily on whether Oklahoma City is ready to loosen his role.

Jared McCain Fri May 29 8:50am

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jared McCain finished Thursday's 118-91 Game 6 loss to the San Antonio Spurs with 13 points, two rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 27 minutes. He shot 4-for-11 from the field, 2-for-3 from deep, and 3-for-3 at the line, giving Oklahoma City one of its cleaner offensive lines on a night when the team shot 36.8 percent overall. With Jalen Williams limited to 10 minutes in his return, McCain's secondary creation stood out. His regular role has been modest, but the six assists give him some Game 7 intrigue if Oklahoma City keeps needing more ball movement.

    De'Aaron Fox Fri May 29 8:40am

San Antonio Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox was limited to five points, five rebounds, and seven assists in Thursday's 118-91 Game 6 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. He shot 1-for-9 from the field and missed all three attempts from deep, but San Antonio still forced Game 7 behind a 20-0 third-quarter run and a 52-42 rebounding edge. Fox has not looked fully settled as a scorer in this series, yet the playmaking volume remains useful while the Spurs lean on Victor Wembanyama and their younger guards to carry more of the offense. Fox's fantasy line will need better efficiency to match his usual ceiling in Saturday's elimination game.

    Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Fri May 29 8:40am

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander managed just 15 points (6-for-18 FGs, 3-for-3 FTs), one rebound, and four assists in Thursday's 118-91 Game 6 loss to the Spurs. The back-to-back MVP went 0-for-5 from deep and finished a game-worst minus-28, his quietest offensive night of the entire 2025-26 season. The series has followed a clear script: when Wembanyama outscores Gilgeous-Alexander, San Antonio wins, and Game 6 was no exception. None of that dents his outlook. A Game 7 at home is the reset spot, the 0-for-5 from three reads as noise, and OKC will run everything through him as the season hangs on one game.

Victor Wembanyama Fri May 29 8:10am

San Antonio Spurs forward/center Victor Wembanyama posted 28 points (10-for-21 FGs, 4-for-4 FTs), 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals, three blocks, and four 3-pointers in Thursday's 118-91 Game 6 rout of the Thunder. The 7-foot-4 star opened with a pair of triples and an early block on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as San Antonio led wire-to-wire, forcing a winner-take-all Game 7 on Saturday in Oklahoma City. He joined David Robinson and Tim Duncan as the only Spurs with five 25-point, 10-rebound games in a single postseason. Filling all five categories anchors his fantasy value, and with a Finals berth at stake, expect another massive workload Saturday.

Jalen Williams Thu May 28 8:30pm

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams (hamstring) is active ahead of Thursday's Game 6 against the San Antonio Spurs. Williams is back in action for the first time since Game 2 of this series. This is great news for the Thunder, who can certainly benefit from his two-way ability. Despite being active, the Thunder will stick with the same starting five from Game 5. Jared McCain scored 20 points during that game and will remain the starter even with Williams healthy. Williams should be a solid contributor off the bench, but his overall fantasy value will take a hit with him playing with the second unit.

Thomas Sorber Thu May 28 8:20pm

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Thomas Sorber (knee) missed all of the 2025-2026 season while recovering from a torn ACL in his right knee. He was the 15th overall pick in last year's draft, but only made it through a few workouts before suffering a season-ending injury. Sorber is reportedly progressing well and believes he'll be ready to play during the upcoming Summer League. Sorber continues to work hard and take part in team workouts. It sounds like he's doing everything right and will hopefully be able to contribute next season. His overall fantasy value will be dependent on where he shakes out in the rotation.

Terry Rozier Thu May 28 8:10pm

NBA veteran Terry Rozier hasn't played since the 2024-2025 season due to charges of alleged sports gambling. Federal prosecutors filed new charges against Rozier this week. Rozier allegedly took a bribe to exit early during a game with the Charlotte Hornets in March of 2023. During that game, Rozier had five points and two assists across 10 minutes of action before exiting and not returning. Rozier was not on the injury report ahead of that contest and exited in the first quarter with an injury. He hasn't played since the 2024-2025 season with the Miami Heat. He was placed on leave following federal indictments in 2025. The 10-year veteran spent time with the Boston Celtics and Charlotte Hornets before playing two seasons with the Heat.

Mitchell Robinson Thu May 28 7:50pm

New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson (finger) could be in danger of missing some time after suffering an injury earlier this week. Robinson has been diagnosed with a broken right pinky finger and remains without a timetable to return. The 28-year-old has been a key contributor as a reserve player for the Knicks. He averaged 4.5 points and 5.8 rebounds during the Eastern Conference Finals. The team hasn't shut the door on him returning for the Finals. His absence could open up more playing time for Ariel Hukporti. The Knicks would likely lean on Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart, assuming Robinson misses any time. Robinson might still be able to contribute in a limited role, but being a full-go seems unlikely.

Cedric Coward Thu May 28 10:00am

Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward Cedric Coward is focused on improving his ball-handling ability. "The biggest thing is my handle and showing that I'm a primary ball handler," Coward told Mark Medina of R.org in an interview. "I have it. But we had a lot of point guards last year. So I wasn't able to show quite as much. But at the end of the day, that is something that I've been working on." The 22-year-old averaged 13.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists during his first year in the Association, earning a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team. As Coward develops his playmaking abilities, his assist numbers should naturally rise, increasing his fantasy value.

Jonas Valanciunas Thu May 28 9:50am

Denver Nuggets center Jonas Valanciunas appears to have his sights set on Europe if the Nuggets don't exercise a $10 million option on his contract for next season. "I received attention," Valanciunas said during a podcast appearance in his native Lithuania. "Yes, there were talks with one team, another team, and the Lithuanian club. There are discussions, and we are deciding. But the final word belongs to Denver. First of all, it depends on whether they trade me, keep me, or not. That's their decision. Right now, I think the bigger question for them is what they will do with the roster overall: who stays and who goes. As I understand it, only Nikola [Jokic] is untouchable, and everyone else can be moved." Valanciunas noted that his future will be clear in the first week of July, or maybe even earlier. As a backup in Denver this season, Valanciunas averaged 8.7 points and 5.1 rebounds in 13.4 minutes per game.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Thu May 28 9:40am

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is not expected to join the Boston Celtics for next season, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reports. "I know some people are linking him to Boston, but I have not heard that Giannis, Boston, and Milwaukee are serious about it. That's out there, but I haven't heard it," Windhorst said Wednesday on ESPN Cleveland. While Antetokounmpo's move to Boston appears unlikely, it's widely believed he has played his final game for the Bucks and will move on this offseason. With the 2026 draft just weeks away, a deal may be close.

LeBron James Thu May 28 9:30am

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James is waiting for the team to approach him with its offseason plans, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reports. "The LeBron side, from what I am told, would like the Lakers to come and say, 'LeBron, here's our plan for you,' or 'here's what we were offering,' and if they're offering less than the max, here's why. Because we're going to use this cap space to sign these players, and this is where you slide in," Windhorst said on Wednesday's episode of The Hoop Collective podcast. James will be an unrestricted free agent this summer after earning $52.7 million in 2025-26. If he agrees to take a pay cut, the Lakers would have a chance to build a better roster around him. Recently, James suggested he isn't in a rush to make a decision on his future.

Jared McCain Wed May 27 7:50pm

The NBA has upgraded San Antonio Spurs center Mason Plumlee's late-game foul on Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jared McCain to a Flagrant 1 after league review, the NBA Officials account announced Wednesday. With 1:39 left in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's 127-114 Thunder win, Plumlee stepped up to show on a screen and drove an elbow into McCain's back as the second-year guard trailed ball-handler Alex Caruso on an offensive set. The foul was called common on the floor. No suspension was issued. McCain, who was making his first playoff start with Jalen Williams (hamstring) and Ajay Mitchell (calf) sidelined, finished with 20 points, three rebounds, and a 7-for-19 mark from the field, with 18 of those points coming in the second half. Bismack Biyombo also delivered a hard foul on McCain with 46 seconds remaining, though that one was not upgraded. With the Thunder up 3-2 in the series, McCain is expected to keep the starting role in Game 6 on Thursday in San Antonio, and the chippiness of Game 5's closing minutes adds an extra layer to a road closeout attempt.
