Washington Wizards guard Trae Young (injury management) has only played two games for the Wizards since being acquired at the trade deadline, and Tuesday won't be his third after he was ruled out for injury management. He has averaged 14.5 points and 7.0 assists in just 18.5 minutes in his two games for the Wizards, and his next chance to return to the lineup will be Thursday against the Magic. Without Trae on Tuesday, Bub Carrington and Tre Johnson are in line for more work in Washington's backcourt, while more usage will be available for Will Riley, Bilal Coulibaly, and Jaden Hardy as well.
Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro (quad) was a late addition to the injury report for Tuesday's game, which is never a good sign for a player's availability. He has missed time this season with a variety of ailments, and he is now dealing with quad soreness. He played 30 minutes on Sunday against the Pistons and racked up 25 points in Miami's win. Before that, he lit up the Hornets for 33 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds on Friday. He's been rolling and has a great matchup against Washington if he's at 100%, but if he is unable to give it a go, Pelle Larsson and Jaime Jaquez could be more involved for the Heat. If that happens, both would bring high ceilings as streaming or DFS plays.
Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner (ankle) is battling a high ankle sprain and hasn't been able to play since the middle of February. On the season, he has been limited to 28 games, and he has only played four games since Dec. 7. The team announced on Tuesday that he continues to progress, but that his return will continue to depend on how he responds to his rehab. Now that Anthony Black (abdomen) is also without a timetable to return, Tristan da Silva will continue to see more run for Orlando. Desmond Bane and Paolo Banchero will have to continue to carry heavy offensive workloads for the Magic and remain excellent fantasy options down the stretch.
Orlando Magic guard Anthony Black (abdominal) is dealing with a left lateral abdominal muscle strain, according to an MRI. The team announced that his return timeframe will depend on his response to treatment. Black is having a breakout season for the Magic, averaging 15.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 30.7 minutes per game. He has helped the Magic overcome extended absences by Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner (ankle), but now it looks like he'll be on the sideline for a while. For however long he is out, Tristan da Silva will likely rejoin the starting lineup, while Jevon Carter may see increased minutes off the bench. In 21 starts this season, da Silva has averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds.
Phoenix Suns guard/forward Jordan Goodwin (calf) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's matchup against the Bucks as he works toward a possible return from a left calf strain that has sidelined him for seven games. The 27-year-old last appeared in late February and had been carving out a steady rotation role, averaging 10.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 1.8 assists in 26.3 minutes across his previous five outings. If cleared, Goodwin would add defensive depth on the wing while the Suns remain without Dillon Brooks (hand). Collin Gillespie and Grayson Allen (knee), if active, would be among the players competing for backcourt minutes if Goodwin returns.
Minnesota Timberwolves forward/center Kyle Anderson (knee) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Lakers as he continues dealing with right knee soreness. The veteran forward could miss a second straight contest, though his absence carries limited fantasy impact given his modest role since joining Minnesota. Anderson has averaged just 14.5 minutes, 3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists across his first two appearances with the team. With Julius Randle, Rudy Gobert, and Naz Reid anchoring the frontcourt rotation, Anderson remains off the fantasy radar in most formats even if he returns.
Chicago Bulls forward/center Jalen Smith (calf) is listed as probable for Tuesday's matchup against the Warriors as he continues working back from a left calf strain. The 25-year-old recently returned after a five-game absence and logged 20 minutes off the bench in Sunday's loss to Sacramento, finishing with four points, one three-pointer, three rebounds, and one block. Smith may handle a similar workload if active, which caps his fantasy ceiling for now. Guerschon Yabusele and Nick Richards could still handle a share of the frontcourt minutes, which may leave Smith as more of a deep-league option if his workload remains modest.
Indiana Pacers guard T.J. McConnell (hamstring) will sit out Tuesday's matchup against the Kings after leaving Sunday's loss to Portland late with right hamstring soreness. The veteran floor general's absence could stretch Indiana's already thin backcourt, especially with Andrew Nembhard (back/neck) doubtful to suit up. Quenton Jackson logged 17 minutes in the previous game, posting two points, three rebounds, and three assists, while Ben Sheppard and Kam Jones also saw brief runs. Jackson profiles as the most viable deep-league streamer, while Sheppard and Jones could see modest usage bumps if the rotation tightens.
Indiana Pacers forward Jarace Walker (ankle) is listed as probable for Tuesday's game against the Kings despite dealing with a right ankle sprain and mid-back soreness. The 22-year-old has been a key piece in Indiana's rotation lately, including a 14-point outing Sunday against Portland. Walker's role has expanded with the Pacers thin in the frontcourt due to Ivica Zubac (ankle) and Pascal Siakam (knee) remaining sidelined. Over his last five games, Walker is averaging 15.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.0 three-pointers in 28.9 minutes, making him a viable fantasy hold if active.
Indiana Pacers center Ivica Zubac (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's matchup against the Kings as he continues recovering from a sprained left ankle that has delayed his debut with the team. The Pacers remain thin in the frontcourt, especially with Pascal Siakam (knee) also sidelined. Jay Huff should continue handling starting center duties after posting 16 points, six rebounds, and five blocks in 22 minutes during the last game against Portland. Jarace Walker (ankle) could also maintain a large role if cleared to play after producing 14 points and two steals in 31 minutes, while Micah Potter remains a deeper-league option.
Miami Heat forward/center Kel'el Ware (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's matchup against the Wizards due to a right shoulder strain. The young big has been available regularly since late January, so this marks a new concern for Miami's frontcourt depth. If Ware sits, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Myron Gardner could see expanded roles. Jaquez logged 29 minutes in the team's last game against Detroit, producing 19 points, six rebounds, and seven assists, while Gardner started but played just 17 minutes with four points and six rebounds. Vladislav Goldin could also pick up limited minutes but remains a risky fantasy option.
Miami Heat guard/forward Norman Powell (groin) will sit out a sixth consecutive game on Tuesday night against the Washington Wizards. He is on the shelf with a groin strain and remains without a timetable for his return. Pelle Larsson, Dru Smith, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. have picked up more work during Powell's absence. Meanwhile, Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo are responsible for most of the offense, especially with Andrew Wiggins (toe) also out of the lineup. The Heat have a great fantasy matchup on Tuesday against a team that allows 120.5 points per 100 possessions.
Miami Heat forward Andrew Wiggins (toe) has been ruled out for Tuesday's encounter with the Washington Wizards. He is nursing a left big toe injury and will sit out a third consecutive contest. The Heat have used Myron Gardner as Wiggins' replacement in the starting unit, but he hasn't had a big impact in games. Over the last two contests, Gardner has averaged 5.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 16.0 minutes. Wiggins will get his next chance to return on Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Chicago Bulls guard Collin Sexton (leg) is questionable to play on Tuesday night against the Golden State Warriors. He injured his left leg on Sunday against Sacramento and might be unavailable for the first time since making his Bulls debut on Feb. 7. Sexton has been a great fit in Chicago and led his team in scoring for four consecutive games. If Sexton can't play on Tuesday, Rob Dillingham is expected to absorb many of his minutes, but he still isn't an appealing fantasy option, even with an expanded role.
Chicago Bulls point guard Josh Giddey (ankle) is probable for Tuesday's contest against the Golden State Warriors. Giddey injured his right ankle last week, but he returned to the lineup on Sunday against Sacramento and appears ready to play on Tuesday night. Health issues have left a mark on Giddey's season, but he has looked like his usual self again in recent games. Over his last three appearances, Giddey has recorded two triple-doubles, averaging 16.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 9.7 assists.
Chicago Bulls forward Matas Buzelis (ankle) is considered probable for Tuesday's matchup with the Golden State Warriors. The talented sophomore sprained his right ankle last week but missed only one game. He was back in action on Sunday against Sacramento, notching 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. Buzelis has enjoyed a significantly larger role on offense during the second half of the season, scoring at least 20 points in four of his last five outings. He has also been a force on the glass, averaging 6.8 boards during that stretch.
Charlotte Hornets guard Coby White (calf) won't be in the lineup on Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers. The explosive guard is managing a left calf injury and hasn't played in both games during a back-to-back set. He will likely rejoin the lineup on Wednesday night against the Sacramento Kings. Since moving to Charlotte, White has averaged 12.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in 18.3 minutes. Sion James and Josh Green will split the available minutes on Tuesday night, but they aren't expected to have a major impact.
Indiana Pacers forward Pascal Siakam (knee) will sit out Tuesday's game against the Sacramento Kings. Siakam recently missed time due to a wrist problem, and he's now on the injury report with a knee sprain. In Siakam's absence, Kobe Brown could slide into the starting lineup. Additionally, Jarace Walker is set to carry a heavier offensive load. In games played without Siakam this season, Walker has averaged 16.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. His fantasy stock will rise further on Tuesday due to the opposition's lack of quality.
Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard (back, neck) is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's matchup with the Sacramento Kings. Nembhard has recently played through back and neck issues, but all signs point to him sitting out Tuesday's action. Pascal Siakam (knee) has already been ruled out for the game, so Indiana will likely be without its two offensive leaders. This will give players like Jarace Walker, Kobe Brown, and Quenton Jackson a chance to make a bigger impact. Jackson and Kam Jones are the candidates to fill in for Nembhard in the starting lineup.
Denver Nuggets' C Nikola Jokic recorded a triple-double, finishing with 32 points, 13 assists and 14 rebounds in a 126-129 loss to Oklahoma City on Monday, Mar. 9.
