- CommissionerThu Sep 19 2:28pm ETAlright, week 2 in the books. Look at those standings. Three teams at 2-0, six teams at 1-1 and three teams at 0-2. We will wrap up round one f the divisional games this week. Coming out 0-3 will make the playoffs very difficult indeed.
The Blues laid the biggest turd of the season going from Top points to third fewest in one week. Despite a narrow victory in week two over Bones Crew, Air Italia’s offense still can’t get out of the hangar. Mark’s team hung a great big L on Big Cat Moeller despite scoring the second lowest points of the week. Parisi was lucky to play the Crew, who just could not score. Mike’s team was efficient, his bench failed to do anything either as his starters scored 94.1% of available points.
While looking at efficiency, the Blues were the least efficient team in wee at a miniscule 79.9%.
The weekly scoring average was up from Week one by 3.87 points. Bench points were also up in week two by 4.08 points. Maybe the NFL offenses are starting to wake a bit. Not playing starters in the pre-season may be impacting our scoring.
The injury bug hit yet again. Tua may be done for good, Kupp is hurt, Jefferson left his game early, AJ Brown was out and the list goes on. Congrats to all the week one losers that were able to grab players off waivers. While many of us have not been directly impacted by injury, the residual impact has become just as significant. If you own Waddle and Hill, I feel your pain. Stafford has been rendered unmentionable with Nacua and Kupp out. Will Mahomes feel the loss of Pacheco? Is Purdy going to be effective with McCaffrey and Samuel nicked up? Let’s not even mention the Cleveland offense as long as they have no QB. The same could be said in Carolina and Tennessee! Many good players withering on the vine and lesser players are becoming relevant simply due to the situation they are in.
Don’t forget to set your rosters for the Jets/Pats game.
The Power Rankings think Eli’s Successor is the best team. Funny, where is Bones Crew? Yep, #12. Mike what did the draft recap say about your team? It may be the kiss of death.
The waiver wire is becoming very thin, so keep those trades avenues open and working.

I know, it seems like a ways off, but heck, it’s the 2nd week of September already. Seems like just yesterday I purchased my Fantasy Index magazine and was trying to figure out draft strategy. And look, it’s already week one, everyone is scrambling to make claims on players like Alexander Mattison, Derek Carr and Rashid Shaheed (sorry for those of you who were hoping to sneak a claim in!).
As is typical in this league, we have all been doing this for quite a while. There aren’t too many hidden gems out there and there are always good trade opportunities if you are willing to make the plunge in the trade market.
Once again, the injury bug has bitten way too early. Two teams took major blows after week one play and another took a blow before the Monday Night game. Bones Crew looks to have lost Jordan Love foe several weeks, Mean Machine lost Nacua for at least 7 games and Smeds went into the Monday game have lost the consensus best player due to a calf injury. All three players figured into the long term success of their respective teams and their losses will be painful. It looks like Smeds will feel the loss of CMC the most since Mike doesn’t really have an immediate fill in. Maybe Tanks will trade with you?
On the surprising side of things, it is amazing the Bears scored 45 points. Chicago is the sole reason Sean pulled off a win. Speaking of surprises, who would have thought that Baker Mayfield would have scored 37.66 points? And did anyone see 26.10 coming from Isaiah Likely?
Based on week 1 results, it would be easy to assume there are have’s and have not’s. I disagree. It’s extremely possible that the entire league could be 1-1 after week 2. On thing is certain, Deshaun Watson stinks, Stefon Diggs can still play football, we will see better play from Lamar & Patrick and Mark Andrews is not the #2 to Likely. So, don’t panic and if you think you have opportunity to improve your roster, start a conversation with a fellow owner that may be willing to engage you in a trade.
All that said, it’s time to recognize the best of week one and pile on the losers!

Brown Notes had the lowest point percentage scoring 72.5% of total available points in week 1. Conversely, the Blues scored 96.5% of total possible points. You may want to watch this stat. If you find yourself making bad decisions or leaving good points on the bench, you may want to consider a trade to eliminate these types of decisions.
Weekly predictions:
1. Bones Crew is the early favorite over Air Italia. I see the Crew dropping an early divisional contest.
2. Dark Horse and Avengers is a virtual pick ‘em game. I think Avs make a roster change and put Prescott in this week and that’s the difference.
3. Brown Notes should prevail over Mean Machine, but this one is really close.
4. Tanks will grab the upset. There’s no way that the Blues can score that many points two weeks in a row.
5. Smeds/Pheasants are a toss up. This really comes down to whether McCaffrey plays. I say the Pheasants win this one.
6. End Game and Eli have several players that underachieved in week 1. Olave/Engram were no shows with Kamara. If they score, this could be a win for Sean. Achane may be banged up for Eli. Robert needs a game from Chase/Dell/Williams. Take End Game. - Latest TransactionsAll

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is coming off an incredibly productive Week 2 showing, running the ball 12 times for 103 yards. He also grabbed two of his four targets for another 32 yards in the air. He now gets ready for a Week 3 home matchup against the Chicago Bears. The Bears have been in the middle of the pack defending the run this season, allowing the 15th least fantasy points to RBs. Despite the average matchup, Taylor can make up for that with his high-end volume. Taylor has seen an 88.9% opportunity share this season, the fourth most amongst all backs. With all that in mind, Taylor is a strong start again in Week 3, and managers in all formats can target him as an RB1.

Anthony Richardson Sep 21 7:10pm ETIndianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is coming off of a weak Week 2 showing, throwing for just 204 yards, one touchdown, and totaling three interceptions. He also ran the ball four times for 37 yards on the ground. He now gears up for a matchup with the Chicago Bears, a team allowing the sixth-least fantasy points to opposing QBs this season. While on paper the matchup isn't great, Richardson and the Colts' offense is expecting WR Josh Downs (ankle) back in action, a key piece for them in the receiving game last season. As always, Richardson's rushing upside makes him an elite fantasy quarterback week in and week out, and this week isn't the exception. While Richardson doesn't provide as safe of a floor as some of the other top-tier QB options with his low passing volume, he still makes for a strong start in all formats in Week 3.

Younghoe Koo Sep 21 7:10pm ETAtlanta Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo has been one of the more reliable kicking options over the last few years. Koo looks to continue that in 2024 as he has yet to miss a kick through two weeks of the season. He connected on all three of his field goal attempts during last week's win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He should continue to get chances if this offense can continue clicking like they did in Week 2. The Falcons should be able to move the ball against the Kansas City Chiefs who rank in the middle of the road in terms of defense. Fantasy managers should feel comfortable with Koo as their kicker for Week 3.

Tyler Allgeier Sep 21 7:00pm ETAtlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier (hip) has been cleared to play ahead of the Week 3 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. The young back opened up the week as a limited participant, but it appears he's fully healthy now. The Falcons continue to use a run-heavy approach, which is good news for Allgeier. However, Bijan Robinson is the lead back and the primary option in the running game. Last week, Allgeier did rush nine times for 53 yards in the win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He's averaging 6.2 yards per carry this season, which is great to see. However, the weekly volume is unknown and Allgeier is barely involved in the passing game. That being said, Allgeier is at best a boom-or-bust RB4 for Week 3.

Darnell Mooney Sep 21 6:50pm ETAtlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney is coming off a decent performance, but a game that could've been much bigger. Mooney and quarterback Kirk Cousins haven't quite been on the same page early in the season. Luckily, Mooney was able to salvage his value last week with a 41-yard touchdown. He hauled in three of his seven targets for 88 yards and a TD in the win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2. The hope is that Mooney can build off that during Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Mooney is technically the No. 2 option on this offense, but they've struggled to move the ball through the air. Mooney does carry some flex appeal, but is more of a boom-or-bust deep league option.

Tim Patrick Sep 21 6:40pm ETDetroit Lions wide receiver Tim Patrick has been elevated from the practice squad ahead of the Week 3 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Patrick is back on the active roster for the second week in a row. Last week, Patrick hauled in two of his four targets for 12 yards in the loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 30-year-old can only be elevated one more time following Sunday's game, after which the Lions have to sign him to the active roster if he want him to play. Patrick might end up sticking on the team as depth, but probably won't have much of a role behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams in this offense.

Greg Gaines Sep 21 6:30pm ETTampa Bay Buccaneers tackle Vita Vea (knee) is currently listed as doubtful ahead of the Week 3 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Vea missed the first two practice sessions of the week before getting in a limited session on Friday. The superstar tackle suffered a MCL sprain during the Week 2 win over the Detroit Lions. It sounds like the Pro Bowl nose tackle might be able to play through the issue, but we'll see if the Bucs decide to take the cautious approach instead. If Vea sits, Greg Gaines would likely be asked to step up and start against the Denver Broncos. The loss of Vea would be a significant blow to the Bucs defense that is already dealing with a handful of injuries.

Tank Bigsby Sep 21 6:20pm ETJacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby (shoulder) is considered questionable ahead of the Week 3 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Bigsby was limited in practice all week due to a lingering shoulder issue that he suffered last week. At first, Bigsby was considered active for Week 3, but now has been downgraded to questionable on the injury report. Bigsby rushed 12 times for 73 yards in the season opener, but saw little action in Week 2 due to his injury. Travis Etienne Jr. is the lead back, but it seems like the Jaguars do want to involve Bigsby as well. Bigsby will fall into the RB3 conversation if cleared for Monday's game.

Fantasy Spin: No surprise here, as head coach Doug Pederson said earlier in the day that Engram wasn't expected to play. Engram's absence offers a slight bump to the Jags' top pass-catchers but Jacksonville doesn't have a viable starting option at tight end behind him.

Fantasy Spin: Kittle popped up on the injury report during the week and was listed as doubtful before being ruled out. With Kittle and Deebo Samuel (calf) both sitting, Brandon Aiyuk is a borderline WR1 and Jauan Jennings is a high-end flex option. Kittle owners should look elsewhere for tight end help, as none of the 49ers' backups can be trusted in lineups.

Unfortunately, he struggled in Week 2 against the Eagles, amassing three grabs for 20 yards. Fantasy managers had high hopes for Pitts coming into the 2024-25 campaign. However, the 23-year-old hasn't met expectations. With that in mind, most of the tight ends around the National Football League have struggled this season. Still, Pitts' upside is higher than most in Week 3, with a favorable matchup on tap versus a Chiefs defense that has allowed more fantasy points to opposing tight ends than any team this season. Keep the 2021 No. 4 overall pick starting in all fantasy formats.
