Kenny Pickett Oct 3 7:20pm ET
    Kenny Pickett

The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to move forward with rookie first-round quarterback Kenny Pickett, according to sources, after Pickett took over for the benched Mitch Trubisky in the Week 4 loss to the New York Jets. Pickett took over at halftime and head coach Mike Tomlin said, "we needed a spark." Pickett went 10-for-13 passing for 120 yards with three interceptions, but he also added two rushing scores and will see plenty of opportunities moving forward, beginning in Week 5 in a very tough matchup against the Buffalo Bills on the road. It shouldn't come as a huge surprise that the Steelers are sticking with Pickett over the ineffective Trubisky. The 24-year-old rookie will have his growing pains, but he proves the Steelers and fantasy managers with more upside, especially with his legs. He'll be a low-end QB2 option in superflex leagues in his first career start this week.

Brian Robinson Jr. Oct 3 7:13pm ET
    Brian Robinson Jr.

Dynasty | Washington running back Brian Robinson has been designated to return off the IR. Dynasty Analysis: His return can't come soon enough as Antonio Gibson had his smallest snap share of the season this week and simply hasn't done enough to look like the long-term answer at running back. Robinson was clearly the top choice going into the season and the window to buy is closing rapidly. At this point, he's creeping up on first round rookie pick value. Plan accordingly.

Jamison Crowder Oct 3 7:13pm ET
    Jamison Crowder

Dynasty | Jamison Crowder suffered a broken ankle in week four against Baltimore. Dynasty Analysis: He's likely headed to injured reserve, but nothing is official. It's been a rough go for the slot dynamo who seemingly lost his job to Isaiah McKenzie in the off-season. With just six catches for 60 yards, this was turning into a lost season prior to the injury anyway. Now 29, Crowder will look to rehab and hopefully land in a better situation next season should he fail to come back and make an impact with Buffalo this year. Our WR97, Crowder is a tough hold in a dynasty leagues and is more of a roster clogger than anything else at this point.

Jonathan Taylor Oct 3 7:10pm ET
    Jonathan Taylor

Tests on Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) came back negative on Monday and he has a chance to play on Thursday night in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos, according to a source. The team initially feared that Taylor had suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 4 loss to the Tennessee Titans, but it's now looking like he may have avoided a long-term injury. He was listed as DNP on the team's estimated practice report on Monday, and fantasy managers will have to keep a close eye on his status over the next couple of days. Even if Taylor is active, he could see fewer snaps, which would make him an extremely risky RB1. If Taylor is inactive this week, Nyheim Hines and Deon Jackson would share backfield duties, with Phillip Lindsay likely being added to the active roster as additional depth.

    From RotoBaller

Nyheim Hines Oct 3 7:10pm ET
    Nyheim Hines

If Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is unable to play on Thursday night in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos, pass-catching back Nyheim Hines would likely have an increased role out of the backfield. He has 17 catches through four games but has only eight carries for 11 yards on the ground. The Colts could also turn to Phillip Lindsay, who has spent the first four weeks on the practice squad. Deon Jackson would also see an elevated role behind Hines, but Indy's ground game has been abysmal to start the year, ranking just 27th despite the presence of Taylor, who ranks sixth in the league in rushing with 328 yards. If Taylor is inactive this week, Hines would be the most attractive Colts RB in fantasy, mostly in PPR formats.

Kenny Golladay Oct 3 5:13pm ET
    Kenny Golladay

Dynasty | Kenny Golladay has a knee injury and is likely out for week five. Dynasty Analysis: Golladay's season can only be described as a nightmare thus far. With a new coaching staff failing to have any semblance of belief in his abilities, he's been used sparingly all season, posting just two catches for 22 yards. This injury will likely keep him off the field for a bit, but it honestly doesn't matter at this point. Golladay badly needs a change of scenery, but his contract is next to impossible to move. It simply looks like a lost year for Kenny G, who has fallen off the map as our WR93. He's droppable.

    From Dynasty League Fantasy

Mike Boone Oct 3 3:49pm ET
    Mike Boone

Dynasty | With Javonte Williams out for the season, Mike Boone is in line for an increased role. Dynasty Analysis: While many dynasty managers are going to be on the hunt for shares of Melvin Gordon, Boone is going to come much cheaper and could end up being the waiver wire darling of 2022 in the process. Gordon has had fumbling problems again this season and Boone actually played more snaps than Gordon this week after Williams went down with his knee injury. Boone's ADP is going to skyrocket over the next few days as he's currently outside the top 90 running backs.

Melvin Gordon Oct 3 3:13pm ET
    Melvin Gordon

Dynasty | With Javonte Williams out for the season, Melvin Gordon is the de facto starting running back in Denver yet again. Dynasty Analysis: The Broncos were widely booed for re-signing Gordon this off-season, but it looks like a great move at this point. With Javonte Williams out for the year with a torn ACL and LCL, Gordon should have a golden opportunity ahead of him. However, he's been less than impressive thus far and his four fumbles are a serious issue. There's little doubt Gordon will get the first crack at the lion's share of vacated carries and catches, Mike Boone is also in the fold and actually outplayed Gordon this past weekend. His ADP of RB45 is sure to go up, but savvy dynasty owners aren't going to be overpaying for his services quite yet.

    From Dynasty League Fantasy

Caleb Huntley Oct 3 3:13pm ET
    Caleb Huntley

Dynasty | With Cordarelle Patterson on the shelf for at least four weeks, rookie running back Tyler Allgeier is in line for a bigger role. Dynasty Analysis: Allgeier had a rough off-season and wasn't even active the first game this season. However, he performed well yesterday with 84 yards on ten carries, with one catch for another 20 yards. While he'll likely be sharing work with Caleb Huntley, this represents our first real chance to see Allgeier perform. He's seen his rookie ranking fall all the way down to #26 overall, so this should breathe some life into his value.

    From Dynasty League Fantasy

Gus Edwards Oct 3 3:10pm ET
    Gus Edwards

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (knee) will begin practice soon as he's been designated to return off the NFL's Physically Unable to Perform list. Edwards tore his ACL around the same time J.K. Dobbins did but has yet to return to game action. When he returns, he'll be on the fantasy radar along with Dobbins. All other Ravens' RBs will take a hit in value if Edwards is healthy and ready to go. Expect this to be a frustrating and confusing committee backfield upon his return.

    From RotoBaller

Jahan Dotson Oct 3 3:00pm ET
    Jahan Dotson

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson (hamstring) left his Week 4 game against the Dallas Cowboys early and is expected to miss one to two weeks. A favorable matchup for wide receivers (Tennessee Titans) is ahead for the Commanders in Week 5, so Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel should see more targets. Logan Thomas and J.D. McKissic could also be in line for more work. In deeper leagues, Cam Sims or Dyami Brown are decent dart throws, but it's tough to know who the third wideout will be for Carson Wentz.

    From RotoBaller

Treylon Burks Oct 3 2:30pm ET
    Treylon Burks

Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Treylon Burks (toe) could go on Injured Reserve after being diagnosed with turf toe. Burks left the game late against the Indianapolis Colts and did not return. However, Burks isn't expected to miss the season and won't need surgery, so he could have sneaky value later in fantasy football in the playoff stretch. For now, Robert Woods, Nick Westbrook-Ikhineand Kyle Philips should be in line for more targets, as well as tight end Austin Hooper. Tennessee could also look to make a move at the position. With that said, no Titans pass-catchers are sure things. Woods seemingly has the most upside moving forward.

    From RotoBaller

Tua Tagovailoa Oct 3 2:20pm ET
    Tua Tagovailoa

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) has already been ruled out for Week 5 against the New York Jets. However, there's no clear timetable on how long he could be out moving forward. Veteran Teddy Bridgewater will start in his place as long as he's out and is a decent streaming option in one of the league's best passing attacks. Bridgewater has never been a fantasy superstar, but Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill are elite weapons at wide receiver, so his ceiling is as high as it's ever been. The Jets present a favorable matchup for quarterbacks, so Bridgewater can be started for fantasy managers in a tough spot at QB.

    From RotoBaller

Melvin Gordon Oct 3 2:13pm ET
    Melvin Gordon

Dynasty | Broncos running back Javonte Williams has been diagnosed with a torn ACL, and LCL. Dynasty Analysis: And with that, we have our first major injury in dynasty leagues after a relatively quiet first month, Williams is out for the season, will undergo surgery and should return in time for the 2023 season. It's a brutal blow for the Sophomore running back who was starting to separate himself from Melvin Gordon. He'll end his season with 404 rushing yards, 16 catches, 76 receiving yards and no scores. Williams' dynasty value is going to take a hit after this injury and he's likely to drop out of first round consideration. However, this injury could open an opportunity for a dynasty owner to buy on our RB3.

    From Dynasty League Fantasy

Denzel Perryman Oct 3 2:13pm ET
    Denzel Perryman

Updating a previous report, Las Vegas Raiders LB Denzel Perryman (concussion) was placed in the league's concussion protocol Monday, Oct. 3.

    From TheHuddle

Cordarrelle Patterson Oct 3 2:10pm ET
    Cordarrelle Patterson

Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) is headed to Injured Reserve but is expected to return at some point this season. His placement on IR means he'll be out for at least four weeks. Rookie Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley combined for 140 rushing yards and a touchdown against the Browns and will be the featured backs moving forward. Damien Williams (rib) could return soon, too, so he's worth noting. For now, it's tough to say whether Allgeier or Huntley is the player to start in Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it'll be a tough matchup against one of the league's premier front sevens in the NFL.

    From RotoBaller

Cordarrelle Patterson Oct 3 1:23pm ET
    Cordarrelle Patterson

Atlanta Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 3.

Fantasy Spin: Patterson is averaging 5.9 yards per carry and ranks fourth in the league in rushing at 340 yards, so there is no question his absence will be a big one for the Falcons. With Damien Williams also on IR, rookie Tyler Allgeier will almost certainly be asked to carry most of the load for the next couple of weeks. Caleb Huntley also figures to play a prominent role after rushing for 56 yards and his first NFL touchdown on 10 carries in Week 4. Allgeier should be considered a strong flex option with RB2 upside and Huntley a priority stash in deeper leagues.

    From TheHuddle

Javonte Williams Oct 3 1:10pm ET
    Javonte Williams

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams (knee) suffered a torn ACL in the Week 4 loss to the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders and his 2022 season is over, according to a source. Williams came into the year as a popular breakout candidate in his second NFL season, but after four weeks, no touchdowns and a torn ACL, his sophomore season comes to a disappointing end. He can now be dropped in single-season leagues. With Williams now done, the Broncos will turn to some combination of Melvin Gordon III and Mike Boone. Gordon had a disastrous Week 4 with three carries for eight yards and a lost fumble that was returned for a touchdown. While this could be another frustrating timeshare, Gordon should have more fantasy upside as a potential RB2, but Boone is also worth waiver-wire consideration in deeper leagues.

    From RotoBaller

Marquise Brown Oct 3 1:00pm ET
    Marquise Brown

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay (forearm) didn't suffer a major forearm injury in the Week 4 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and has a chance to play in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals. Meanwhile, cornerback Avonte Maddox (ankle), who suffered an ankle sprain last week, is up in the air for Week 5, according to sources. Maddox could miss another game, but his injury isn't long-term. It's good news for the Eagles secondary as they try to remain the only undefeated team in the league heading into a matchup against Arizona. If Slay is able to play, it will be bad news for Cardinals No. 1 receiver Marquise Brown. The Eagles defense/special teams has been a must-start fantasy unit this season.

    From RotoBaller

Baker Mayfield Oct 3 12:50pm ET
    Baker Mayfield

Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule told reporters on Monday that he's sticking with Baker Mayfield as his quarterback after the Week 4 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Rhule added that Sam Darnold (ankle) is still not ready to return from his high-ankle sprain. Darnold reportedly isn't close to coming off Injured Reserve, so the struggling Mayfield will have a little more leash as the starter under center. The 27-year-old has gone 64-for-117 for 747 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions in his first four games with the Panthers. Mayfield is averaging a career-low 6.4 yards per attempt and 186.8 yards per game. He'll remain a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues going forward, and if he's still struggling when Darnold is healthy enough to return, the Panthers could be compelled to make a switch.
