Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce is focused on improving some parts of his game, specifically blocking and ball security. "You've got to protect the ball and protect the quarterback," said Pierce. "We've been working a lot on both." The 2022 fourth-round pick finished his inaugural season with 939 yards off 220 carries while adding 30 catches for 165 yards. He also totaled five touchdowns. Unfortunately, he fumbled four times, and his year ended prematurely because of a high-ankle sprain suffered in Week 14. That said, Pierce should receive more than enough work during the 2023-24 campaign to make his mark, and he may see the field more if he continues to improve as a blocker. Fantasy managers shouldn't sleep on him, as he could easily surpass expectations.

According to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, running back Isiah Pacheco (hand, shoulder) is "making progress." The 24-year-old finished his inaugural season with 830 yards and five touchdowns off 170 carries. He added 13 catches for 130 yards. However, Pacheco battled several injuries during the year, including a broken hand and torn labrum. He hasn't participated in any offseason programs, although there's hope he'll be ready for training camp. While the seventh-round pick will compete with Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon for snaps, he may see more work catching passes out of the backfield, which will mean good things for PPR managers. At any rate, assuming Pacheco is healthy, he has an excellent chance of finishing the 2023-24 campaign as the most productive back in Kansas City by a considerable margin.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs has made a favorable impression at OTAs, so much so that the team believes he's ready to take his game to another level. "Rome has done a nice job of really making that next step," said head coach Matt LaFleur. "He's doing a great job getting his feet on the ground, running violent routes, violent cuts. Being aggressive with his hands. I think he's shown a lot of progress." The 23-year-old appeared in 13 games as a rookie, amassing 42 catches for 425 yards and three touchdowns. Of course, he'll mostly compete with Christian Watson and Aaron Jones for receptions this season. However, Doubs has plenty of room to surpass his numbers from last season, especially since he's seeing plenty of attention during practices from quarterback Jordan Love, who will take over the offense after the Packers traded Aaron Rodgers to the Jets.

The Minnesota Vikings are receiving real trade interest centered around star pass-rusher Danielle Hunter, according to sources. Hunter has made the Pro Bowl in three of the last four seasons and finished last year with 65 tackles (46 solo), 10.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, 22 QB hits and a forced fumble in 17 regular season games. He's due to make only $5.5 million in 2023, and Hunter and the Vikings haven't been able to make any progress on a long-term contract extension. A trade of the 28-year-old pass-rusher would have been easier to pull off before the draft, but we'll keep an eye on the situation with training camp quickly approaching. Hunter finished as the No. 10 fantasy defensive lineman in 2022.

Dynasty | The Tennessee Titans are hosting free agent DeAndre Hopkins for a free agent visit. Dynasty Analysis: Hopkins was reportedly interested initially in either Kansas City or Buffalo but it seems he's not getting the kind of offer he wants. The Browns have recently been rumored to have at least some interest and the Titans are obviously now in the mix. Hopkins is bound to be a target hog wherever he ends up. Hopkins is no sure thing to end up with a contender is likely going to take the most lucrative offer he sees. Regardless, he'll be a solid veteran target for dynasty teams looking for a short-term WR1. Hopkins comes in as our WR43.

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry unsurprisingly looks to be in great shape this offseason and has been smooth running and catching the ball during offseason workouts. Henry appears to be taking advantage of his offseason work heading into the 2023 season. It makes sense for the 29-year-old to be at all six of the team's organized team activities while trying to learn new offensive coordinator Tim Kelly's system. The offense shouldn't be all that much different in 2023, with Henry fully expected to remain as a high-volume producer in a run-friendly offense. King Henry finished as the RB4 in half-PPR leagues last year, running for 1,538 yards (second in the NFL) and 13 touchdowns on a league-high 349 carries. Even if he starts to show signs of decline, Henry should at the very least be treated as a top-10 fantasy RB.

Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Tim Kelly said that the team is going to give rookie running back Tyjae Spears as much as he can handle. Spears has regularly been one of the most active and most noticeable players during the team's offseason workouts as well. Not much is expected of the 21-year-old third-round selection in his first NFL season as long as bell-cow back Derrick Henry remains healthy, but he could have a chance to carve out a nice little role in Tennessee's backfield to give Henry some breathers. It will be interesting to see how much second-year RB Hassan Haskins is involved, but Spears has more immediate and long-term upside once King Henry's reign is over. Spears will go undrafted in standard 12-team fantasy leagues, but he's not a bad low-cost investment in dynasty/keeper formats.

As expected, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (shoulder) participated in 7-on-7 drills during organized team activities on Wednesday. It's the first time that Herbert has practiced in front of reporters since having offseason labrum surgery on his left, non-throwing shoulder. Herbert should be fully ready to go in training camp at the end of July, and if he can stay healthy in 2023, he should improve on what was a rather disappointing third season in the NFL after. He did complete a career-high 68.2% of his passes, but he had a career-low 25 TDs and 10 interceptions in 17 regular season starts. The 25-year-old QB will need Keenan Allen and Mike Williams to stay healthy, but he still has running back Austin Ekeler and gained first-round rookie wideout Quentin Johnston. Herbert isn't a bad fallback option in fantasy once the elite names come off the board.

The Miami Dolphins are taking it slow with wide receiver Tyreek Hill (undisclosed) this spring -- he's done very little beyond individual drills during offseason practices -- because he's dealing with a minor undisclosed injury. If it were the regular season, Hill would be on the field. The Dolphins are just being super cautious with their star receiver, and the guy they call the Cheetah has appeared in 108 of a possible 114 games in the first seven years of his career. His 119 receptions and 1,710 receiving yards in 2022 both set franchise records, but Hill could be in for another amazing season in 2023 in head coach Mike McDaniels' system. "He is putting his best foot forward, is night and day ahead of where he was last year with regard to the offense and has his mind set on improving and being even better from last year, which is the only place we want," McDaniels said.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney (ankle) suffered a broken ankle in the Week 12 game against the New York Jets, effectively ending his 2022 season. The Tulane product finished the year with 40 receptions for 493 yards and two touchdowns. Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said "Darnell is working his tail off. He's on track. He'll be ready (for training camp)." This is great news for his early-season availability, and he'll be moved to a more natural WR2 role in 2023 with the arrival of DJ Moore. The Bears are expected to take a step forward on offense, so Mooney could have boom weeks. That said, the team will still likely have one of the most run-heavy offensive attacks, so there's a good chance he's not a weekly producer. His best fantasy value will likely be in best-ball formats.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce (foot) sat out of practice Wednesday with a minor foot issue, but head coach Shane Steichen said "it's nothing serious," and he could have practiced on Wednesday. The team is just being cautious with the second-year wideout early in the offseason. Pierce posted 593 yards and two touchdowns on 41 receptions in the lifeless Colts offense last season, so it was ultimately a decent campaign for the Cincinnati product. With Parris Campbell gone, he could serve as the primary field-stretcher for a combination of quarterbacks Gardner Minshew and No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson in 2023. Michael Pittman Jr. should continue to operate as the Colts' No. 1 WR, but Pierce and rookie Josh Downs will battle it out to be the second option in the passing game.

Atlanta Falcons running back and return specialist Avery Williams (knee) suffered a torn ACL in practice last week, meaning he's likely to miss the entire 2023 season. Last season, Williams rushed 22 times for 109 yards and a touchdown, adding 13 receptions for 61 yards. The 24-year-old returned 18 punts for 292 yards last season as well, posting a league-leading 16.2 yards per return. He also posted 313 yards on 16 kickoff returns. Williams wasn't on the fantasy radar to begin with, but Atlanta will be tasked with finding his replacement in the return game.

Free Agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is set to visit with the Tennessee Titans Sunday, marking his first free agent visit since being released by the Arizona Cardinals on May 26th. Head coach Mike Vrabel was on the Houston Texans' staff while Hopkins was there, so the connection could prove to lead Hopkins toward Tennessee. The Titans have a major hole at wide receiver, with Treylon Burks, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Kyle Philips, and Chris Moore slated to be the top-four receivers for Ryan Tannehill or Will Levis. Hopkins played in just nine games last season thanks to a six-game suspension and a knee injury, but he still looked good in his age-30 campaign. He caught 64 passes for 717 yards and three touchdowns. Ultimately, he'd be a huge upgrade for Tennessee, regardless of if he takes a step back in 2023.

Dynasty | Head coach Kevin Stefanski singled-out rookie receiver Cedric Tillman as a top performer Dynasty Analysis: Stefanski acknowledge that all the rookies are "swimming" due to all the information but lauded Tillman's intelligence specifically. Without pads in training camp, it's far easier for rookies to catch the eye of coaches and fellow players, but all positive notes are good notes. Tillman is found as DLF's rookie WR10 and has a chance at early-career production as he fights for snaps in his rookie year. With Amari Cooper expected to move on following 2023 and Donovan Peoples-Jones still not considered a top-flight option, Tillman could benefit. He's listed as DLF's WR66 in our non-rookie rankings.

Dynasty | Mark Andrews said that he's probably in the best shape of his life Dynasty Analysis: Andrews turns 28 in early September and is coming off a down year in which he produced 847 yards and five touchdowns across 73 receptions. The top tight end did miss two games due to injury. Looking ahead to the 2023 regular season, Andrews figures to loom large once again as a favored target of Lamar Jackson, potentially approaching the 107/1,361/9 stat line he produced in 2021. One to always deflect praise, if Andrews is saying he's in the best shape of his career, it's a statement to take note of. He's listed as DLF's TE2.

Dynasty | Romeo Doubs is a breakout candidate for 2023 Dynasty Analysis: Doubs' connection with Jordan Love has been on display in OTAs and it continues to grow. It's clear the second-year receiver has been the standout in camp and he'll be looking to finally make good on expectations after, as a rookie, the fast-rising receiver failed to match the hype, ultimately finishing with a 42/425/3 line with Aaron Rodgers under center. Now with Jordan Love at the helm, it remains to be seen if the reduced expectations from the dynasty community are enough to create a value-on opportunity. He's found as DLF's WR61.

Dynasty | Rookie running back Tyjae Spears is "regularly one of the most active - and noticeable - players." Dynasty Analysis: Spears has also been staying after practice to catch "100-plus" balls on a consistent basis. Fellow players have also been effusive in their praise of the rookie noting his routes, versatility, and his quickness. One of the stories of the 2023 NFL Draft involved the Titans using a third-round selection on what was perceived as an unneeded position and, furthermore, on Spears who has no ACL in one knee, leading many to believe he'll be a one-contract player. At the running back position, however, few reach a second contract with their original team. With reports that Spears is already dealing with some level of arthritis due to his condition, career length continues to be an issue keeping his draft status in dynasty lower than it would otherwise be. Starter Derrick Henry is 29 and Spears figures to see touches immediately, potentially inheriting the starting role when Henry departs, likely following 2023. Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said that linebacker David Long (undisclosed) had a "tweak" earlier in the offseason workout program, which is why he hasn't been participating in team drills. "He's in a good spot and look forward to getting him out there," McDaniel said. It's unclear what Long's specific injury is, but it doesn't sound like something that will keep him sidelined into training camp at the end of July. The Dolphins are just being cautious with him for now. The 26-year-old is expected to enter 2023 as the team's starting inside linebacker after inking a two-year deal in March. Long comes to Miami after recording 230 tackles (137 solo), 15 tackles for loss, five QB hits, four interceptions, 14 passes defensed and two forced fumbles in four years with the Tennessee Titans.

The Buffalo Bills signed free-agent cornerback Cameron Dantzler to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday and released cornerback Kyler McMichael in a corresponding move. Dantzler was just waived by the Washington Commanders at the end of May, but he quickly finds a home in Buffalo. The 24-year-old was originally a third-round selection by the Minnesota Vikings in 2020 out of Mississippi State. In three seasons with the Vikings, he had 149 tackles (125 solo), six tackles for loss, three interceptions, 17 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 35 games (26 starts). Dantzler had 50 tackles in 10 games in his final season in Minnesota in 2022. He'll provide secondary depth at corner behind Tre'Davious White and Kaiir Elam.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that quarterback Brock Purdy (elbow) is "right on pace" with his recovery from tightrope surgery on the torn UCL in his right elbow. Purdy is now throwing three times a week, and the Niners are hoping he'll be cleared for training camp at the end of July. The 23-year-old second-year signal-caller was present for the first day of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and although he didn't throw, he was seen running on a side field. In the meantime, Trey Lance and Sam Darnold will split first-team repetitions under center, but if Purdy is ready to go for Week 1 of the regular season as expected, he is the 49ers' starting QB after an impressive rookie season. Until Purdy shows us more, though, he'll be considered a low-end QB2 in fantasy.
