Uchenna Nwosu Mar 26 11:20pm ET
    Uchenna Nwosu

Seattle Seahawks president of football operations John Schneider said that both offensive tackle Abraham Lucas (knee) and linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (pectoral) are on track to be ready for the start of the 2024 season. Schneider is unsure if safety Jerrick Reed II (knee) will be ready, but he did say that Reed's rehab has gone well. Lucas, 25, had knee surgery at the end of last season, but he should be ready to go as the team's right tackle later this fall. Nwosu, 27, suffered a torn pectoral muscle in 2023 that limited him to six games. Getting the former second-round pick in 2018 out of USC back will be big news for Seattle's pass rush in 2024, as Nwosu picked up career-highs in combined tackles (66), sacks (9.5), tackles for loss (12) and QB hits (26) in 17 starts in 2022 in his first year in Seattle.

Mazi Smith Mar 26 11:10pm ET
    Mazi Smith

Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Mazi Smith (shoulder) carried a four- to six-month timetable after having shoulder surgery shortly after last season, but he is expected to be ready for training camp this summer. As long as Smith doesn't encounter any setbacks as he rehabs his shoulder this offseason, the 22-year-old should be ready for training camp at the end of the July and for the start of the 2024 season. After being taken 26th overall in the first round last year out of Michigan, Smith played in all 17 regular-season games (three starts) and recorded only 13 tackles (nine solo) and one sack in a depth role. He could carve out a bigger role on the interior of Dallas' defensive line in Year 2, but Smith isn't going to be on the fantasy radar in IDP leagues.

Luke Schoonmaker Mar 26 11:00pm ET
    Luke Schoonmaker

Dallas Cowboys tight end Luke Schoonmaker (shoulder) had shoulder surgery recently but is "all systems go" for training camp this summer, according to a person familiar with the situation. Schoonmaker played in all 17 regular-season games in his rookie season in 2023 after being taken in the second round out of Michigan, but he didn't do much behind Jake Ferguson, catching only eight of 15 targets for 65 yards and two touchdowns. However, his shoulder injury may have been partially to blame. The 25-year-old could have a bigger role in his sophomore campaign in Dallas, but as long as Ferguson stays healthy, it's hard to envision Schoonmaker being very attractive for fantasy managers on a weekly basis. As long as Ferguson is healthy, Schoonmaker will be a blocker over a receiver.

Christian Watson Mar 26 10:50pm ET
    Christian Watson

The Green Bay Packers feel that they have a better grasp of where wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) stands after he underwent a body scan at the University of Wisconsin-Madison this offseason with the hope of preventing future flare-ups. Watson has battled hamstring injuries in both of his two seasons in the NFL, with the 6-foot-4, 208-pounder missing eight games in 2023, playing just 446 offensive snaps. It hasn't just been hamstring injuries for the 24-year-old, and he's played in only 23 games in his first two seasons to quickly develop an injury-prone label. But when healthy, he's caught 69 of 119 targets for 1,033 yards and 12 touchdowns, adding two rushing scores. There's intriguing upside given the nature of Green Bay's improving offense under quarterback Jordan Love, but Watson's durability makes him a risk/reward fantasy selection heading into his third year.

    Amon-Ra St. Brown Mar 26 9:10pm ET
    Amon-Ra St. Brown

The Detroit Lions and star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown have been discussing a contract extension that would likely make him one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the league. St. Brown's agent and Detroit brass met last month at the NFL scouting combine to begin negotiations as it appears that both sides are motivated to get something worked out. St. Brown is heading into the final year of his rookie deal and will play at an absolute bargain price of $3.366 million in 2024. The team is making it a priority to get St. Brown and quarterback Jared Goff extended this offseason after they came just one win short of making it to the Super Bowl.

Jared Goff Mar 26 9:00pm ET
    Jared Goff

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff and the team have been discussing a contract extension this offseason. Goff's representatives and the Detroit brass have been having ongoing contract discussions this offseason as the team looks to keep him in town for the foreseeable future. A Goff extension could make him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league if and when it gets done. Goff has just one year left on the four-year extension that he signed while still a member of the Los Angeles Rams. The Lions are also looking to extend star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown as the team looks to keep their offensive core together moving forward.

    J.K. Dobbins Mar 26 8:50pm ET
    J.K. Dobbins

Free-agent running back J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) has been cleared for football activities, according to Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Dobbins tore his Achilles tendon early in the 2023 season but reportedly looks "outstanding" as he continues his rehab efforts. The veteran running back is expected to be making visits to NFL teams soon as he looks to latch on with another team after the Baltimore Ravens let him leave as a free-agent. Dobbins' days as a lead back might be over but he could still form part of a backfield committee moving forward.

Darious Williams Mar 26 8:20pm ET
    Darious Williams

The Los Angeles Rams and free-agent cornerback Tre'Davious White intend to agree upon a one-year, $8.5 million contract according to White's agents. White will join a revamped LA secondary that recently added Darious Williams. The veteran cornerback has struggled to stay on the field in recent seasons, having appeared in just 10 total games over the past two years. White's contract with the Rams has the potential to be worth up to $10 million with incentives as he looks to bolster the Los Angeles defense.

Derek Carr Mar 26 5:00pm ET
    Derek Carr

New Orleans Saints offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk (knee) could miss the entire 2024 season due to lingering knee issues. The 29-year-old missed five games last year, and head coach Dennis Allen said his knee is not responding the way they had hoped. This is a cloudy situation for now, but there will be further updates as the 2024 campaign approaches. Ramczyk was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by New Orleans and has started 101 games for the organization. He is a two-time Pro Bowl selection and one-time All-Pro. Needless to say, his absence from the lineup could negatively affect Derek Carr and the team's running backs and wide receivers.

Nick Chubb Mar 26 5:00pm ET
    Nick Chubb

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) is expected to begin load running in April, according to general manager Andrew Berry. The 28-year-old suffered a torn MCL and damaged ACL in the Week 2 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last season in what looked to be a potential career-ending injury. However, he is looking to bounce back and play again, but there is a lot of time before the start of next season. This will be an ongoing development worth following ahead of fantasy drafts for the 2024 campaign. Cleveland has Jerome Ford on the roster and recently signed veteran D'Onta Foreman, and if Chubb is limited upon his return, he could be utilized as a committee back moving forward.

    D'Andre Swift Mar 26 4:40pm ET
    D'Andre Swift

The Chicago Bears signing of former Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles running back D'Andre Swift was one of the first moves of free agency, and head coach Matt Eberflus suggested he will be a passing game weapon for the organization. "We just felt that we wanted a home-run hitter there. I think D'Andre brings that. We wanted a weapon back -; a guy who could be a weapon out of the backfield," Eberflus said. "I know that in situational football it's very difficult to be able to have the two guys outside covered, two tight ends covered, and then you got another situation where you have the weapon back inside. So that was critical." It sounds like Chicago is planning to utilize Swift out of the backfield more often, which was a role he excelled in while in Detroit. Swift posted just a 10% target share in his lone season in Philadelphia after being at 15.1% in 2022 and 18.4% in 2021. With Chicago almost certainly slated to take USC's Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Swift could see a ton of usage underneath as a receiver while Williams feels out the NFL game.

Sam Howell Mar 26 4:20pm ET
    Sam Howell

The Seattle Seahawks traded for former Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell on March 14. Although the franchise has already declared Geno Smith as the starter in 2024, general manager John Schneider said he "absolutely" believes Howell can be a full-time starter again in the future. Howell started 17 games for Washington last season, throwing for 3,946 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions. He flashed upside and mobility, but the turnover woes proved to mark the end of his short tenure with the Commanders. With Smith turning 34 next season, Seattle will likely have to eye his replacement in the near future. It's not necessarily going to be Howell, but it sounds like the Seahawks are keeping the light on for him moving forward. The North Carolina product doesn't have immediate fantasy value, but he might be worth stashing in Superflex and two-QB dynasty leagues.

Cordarrelle Patterson Mar 26 4:20pm ET
    Cordarrelle Patterson

The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing running back/wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Patterson enjoyed the best season of his career under current Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith in Atlanta, so the move gives the veteran a smidge of fantasy relevance in 2024. In 2021, Patterson rushed 153 times for 618 yards and six touchdowns and caught 52 passes for 548 yards and five scores. He finished that campaign as the RB9 in PPR leagues. However, he posted just 219 yards of offense last season and turned 33 years old on March 17. In all likelihood, he will primarily be used on special teams and as a gadget player in the new-look Pittsburgh offense. Patterson holds the NFL record for kick return touchdowns (nine), and this move was made on the same day the league approved a revised kickoff.

Dak Prescott Mar 26 2:50pm ET
    Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott have a mutual understanding of his contract situation, according to sources, with no offers from Dallas despite Prescott being in a contract year. "We are where we are, locked and loaded for this year," owner Jerry Jones said. With no indication of a new deal coming, it looks like the 30-year-old signal-caller will play out the 2024 season on the final year of his contract. The three-time Pro Bowler threw for 4,516 yards and a league-high 36 touchdowns in 17 regular-season games in one of his best showings, but the Cowboys fell flat in the playoffs yet again. There's still time for the two sides to work something out to help ease the burden of Prescott's $55.46 million salary cap hit this year. Fantasy-wise, Prescott will be a QB1 consolation prize after the elite names at the position come off the board.

    DeMeco Ryans

The NFL announced that this year's Hall of Fame game, the first preseason contest of 2024, on Aug. 1 will feature the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans. The game will feature the upstart Texans, who won a playoff game in 2023 under first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans and rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud against a Bears team that is expected to take USC QB Caleb Williams first overall in the upcoming draft. The league will also hold two games on Christmas Day this year, which falls on a Wednesday. Last year's Christmas Day tripleheader drew historic ratings, with all three games ranking among the top-five Christmas Day NFL games on record, dating back to 1988.

Greg Joseph Mar 26 2:20pm ET
    Greg Joseph

The Green Bay Packers signed free-agent kicker Greg Joseph to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday, according to his agent, Brett Tessler. Joseph kicked for the division-rival Minnesota Vikings the last three seasons and holds the NFL record for game-winning kicks in a season (five) and the Vikings record for longest field goal (61 yards). The 29-year-old went 83-for-101 on his field goals and 112-for-124 on extra points during his time in Minnesota. In addition to Joseph, the Packers have last year's sixth-rounder, Anders Carlson, on their roster, but Carlson struggled mightily in his rookie season and could now be on his way out. Joseph finished the 2023 season as the No. 24 kicker in terms of overall fantasy points and should be on the streaming radar in 2024 with Green Bay.

Josh Jacobs Mar 26 2:10pm ET
    Josh Jacobs

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur implied that we'll see more of new running back Josh Jacobs in the passing game than the 40 catches per year he averaged in five seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. "Just studying him, I think there's more out there for him in regards to the passing game, using him out of the backfield. He's put some really good choice routes on tape. That's something we always try to get to," LaFleur said. Despite Jacobs ranking second in carries since entering the NFL behind only Derrick Henry, don't expect that to change how the Packers split carries in their backfield with AJ Dillon re-signing. However, there's a possibility Dillon doesn't make the team, so Jacobs' spot as the feature back is about the only sure think in Green Bay's backfield. Even if Jacobs losing carries to Dillon or another back in Green Bay, his increase in receptions should keep him afloat as an RB1 in fantasy in his new home.

Calvin Ridley Mar 26 2:10pm ET
    Calvin Ridley

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley is expected to see a lot of targets in his first year with the team in 2024. "You're looking at a very similar role to what Ja'Marr Chase played," Titans head coach Brian Callahan said. The new Titans head coach previously coached Chase as the offensive coordinator with the Cincinnati Bengals. Ridley might not be the overall talent that Chase is, but his fantasy price is going to go up considerably if the Titans indeed use Ridley similarly to how Chase is used in Cincinnati. With the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023, the 29-year-old was mostly used as a deep threat on the outside and finished with the second 1,000-yard season of his career and eight touchdowns in 17 starts. If he's running more intermediate routes out of the slot in 2024, Ridley's fantasy ceiling could be even higher.

Kevin Stefanski Mar 25 10:00pm ET
    Kevin Stefanski

Cleveland Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam said on Monday that they are close to reaching contract extensions with both head coach Kevin Stefanski and general manager Andrew Berry. In the last four seasons with Stefanski and Berry at the helm in Cleveland, the Browns have made the postseason twice and even won a playoff game against the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers. The Browns have gone 37-30 in the regular season since both men were hired. They've gone 1-2 in the postseason but advanced to the playoffs last year despite season-ending injuries to key players like Deshaun Watson, Nick Chubb, Jack Conklin and Jedrick Wills. It remains to be seen how long their new contract extensions will be, but both Stefanski and Berry have earned the right to stick around longer.

Daniel Jones Mar 25 9:40pm ET
    Daniel Jones

While New York Giants president and CEO John Mara still has faith in quarterback Daniel Jones (knee), he told reporters on Monday at the NFL meetings that he wouldn't stop general manager Joe Schoen from taking a quarterback in the upcoming draft. "I think the Daniel (Jones) we saw in 2022 is the real deal. I still have all the confidence in the world in him. Yes, I think we all expect him to be the starter in 2024," Mara said. Jones is no lock to be ready for Week 1 in 2024 after tearing his ACL last year, but the Giants continue to stay that when he's healthy, he'll be the team's starter under center. The G-Men aren't giving up on the former sixth overall pick in 2019 out of Duke, but 2024 might be his make-or-break season. Drafting a QB this year would give the Giants some insurance at the position.
