Week 7 Results

By The Commissioner Tue Oct 21 9:26pm CT

We have reached the halfway point of the regular season, and here is how the division races stack up ---

  • In the Beer Division, Winning Colors has a league best 6-1 record but has FloJoRo’s just 1 game back with a 5-2 record. Jimmy’s Boys is 2 more games back at 3-4 but is still very much in the hunt for a wildcard playoff spot, but The Bungals is licking his wounds after a winless 1st half of the season.
  • In the Tequila Division, A Lambeau Leap sports a 5-2 record and holds a 1-game lead over Timba’s Tigers with Ace Packer Backer another game back and Colts one more game behind APB.
  • In the Bourbon Division, ExStorminator has a division best record of 5-2 and holds a 2-game lead on all of his division rivals who each sit 2 games back at 3-4.

There are only 5 teams with winning records at the halfway point of the regular season and with 6 playoff spots up for grabs, that means that the 5 teams sitting at 3-4 and even the one sitting at 2-5 are still very much alive for a wildcard playoff spot. It will just take a good 2nd half of the season for any one of those teams to take strides towards getting one of those coveted playoff spots.

Congratulations to our week 7 winners (listed in order of points scored: Winning Colors, Jimmy's Boys, Timba’s Tigers, FloJoRo’s, A Lambeau Leap and ExStorminator.

Winning Colors gets his 2nd high scorer award for the week with a whopping total of 164 points which is just off the all time high weekly point total of 167. Ace Packer Backer has the 3rd highest point total at 117 but the misfortune of being matched up against Winning Colors so he gets smoked despite his good point total. In fact, the 117 points is the most scored by any losing team this season and is only the 4th losing team to score 100 plus points this season. ExStorminator has the lowest points by a winning team with the 5th lowest overall.

The 100% efficiency mark is hit for just the 2nd time this season as Jimmy’s Boys follows up Timba’s Tigers who did that in week 6. At the bottom this past week is Wrinkled & Green  at 60.7%. Year to date, Timba’s Tigers is at the top with 91.5% efficiency with DaRifRaff at 90.1% joining TT above the 90% mark. Wrinkled & Green hangs on to the bottom spot at 76.5% and is the only team below 80%.

This competed the 4th week of interdivisional play and the Beer Division posts the best mark for the week at 3-1 followed by Tequila at 2-2 and Bourbon at 1-3. Year to date, all 3 divisions sport identical 8-8 records.

No scoring records this past week, although Winning Colors made a great run at the all time weekly high point total. There was one negative performances --- as usual it is by a D/ST as DaRifRaff got –4 from his starter. High scorer by position this past week (and obviously year to date) and all time marks are as follows:

  • QB – 36 (Jimmy’s Boys) for the week --- high for the season is 40 (Timba’s Tigers in week 1); all time high is 57 by Winning Colors (2013, week 1)
  • RB – 33 (Ace Packer Backer) for the week; this is also the high for the season; all time high is 52 by The Bungals (2020, week 16)

In the NFL Picks A Lambeau Leap just misses a perfect week as he posts a 14-1 record but Colts and Timba’s Tigers are just behind with 13-2 marks for the week. With his great record this past week, A Lambeau Leap vaults into a 4-game lead over 4 who are tied for 2nd place --- Colts, Timba’s Tigers, FloJoRo’s and Wrinkled & Green.
