Week 9 Results

By The Commissioner Wed Nov 5 8:58pm CT

Getting close to the home stretch and with 5 games left in the regular season, the playoff picture is still a bit fuzzy. Still a lot of possibilities left to play out, but at this point in the season, here are a few takeaways ---

  • Winning Colors and ExStorminator have the best record at 7-2 but while ExSt holds a 3-game lead in his division, WC has only a 2-game lead over FloJoRo’s who has the 3rd best record at this time.  But all 3 of those teams are well positioned to make the playoffs.
  • There are exactly 6 teams with winning records so if the playoffs were today, then those would be the 6 teams in. But 3 of those teams are at 5-4 and with 3 other teams at 4-5, so there is a battle brewing for the wildcard playoff spot --- or even the division title in Tequila since Timba’s Tigers and A Lambeau Leap are tied at the top with 5-4 records but Ace Packer Backer is only 1 game back.

Congratulations to our week 9 winners (listed in order of points scored: Risky, Timba’s Tigers, Jimmy’s Boys, Wrinkled & Green, The Bungals and ExStorminator.

Risky gets his 1st high scorer award of the season with 135 points and is the 7th different team this season to collect at least one high scorer award. ExStorminator has the lowest point total of any winning team at the 3rd lowest overall, while A Lambeau Leap is again the highest scorer for a losing team with the 5th highest point total.

FloJoRo’s hits the 100% efficiency mark for the week but still has the lowest point total of the week, while The Bungals is at the bottom with his 72.6% mark but still enough to get the win. Year to date, Timba’s Tigers remains at the top at 92.6% and is joined by Winning Colors with 90.8% and DaRifRaff at 90.7% as the only other teams above 90%. Wrinkled & Green remains at the bottom year-to-date at 78.5% and is the only team below the 80% mark.

This competed the 6th week of interdivisional play and the Bourbon Division posts the best mark for the week at 3-1 followed by Beer at 2-2 and Tequila at 1-3. But Beer still has the best cumulative record year to date at 14-10 followed by Bourbon at 12-12 and Tequila at 10-14.

No scoring records this past week. There was one negative performance and for a change not by D/ST as ExSt got –1 from one of his RB’s but still got the win for the week. For the 2nd straight week the all time TE record is threatened as The Bungals gets 30 points from his TE and just misses the all time mark of 32 for that position. High scorer by position this past week (and obviously year to date) and all time marks are as follows:

  • QB – 40 (Wrinkled & Green) for the week --- this ties the high for the season (Timba’s Tigers in week 1); all time high is 57 by Winning Colors (2013, week 1)
  • RB – 28 (Timba’s Tigers) for the week; high for the season is 35 (A Lambeau Leap in week 8); all time high is 52 by The Bungals (2020, week 16)
  • WR – 29 (Risky) for the week; this ties the high for the season (Colts in week 2); all time high is 41 by Jimmy’s Boys (2013, week 13)
  • TE – 30 (The Bungals) for the week; this is also the high for the season; all time high is 32 by Da Bears (Mike Kirkham in 2014, week 8)
  • K – 18 (Colts) for the week; high for the season is 22 (Jimmy’s Boys in week 2); all time high is 30 by A Lambeau Leap (2012, week 15)
  • D/ST – 16 (Wrinkled & Green) for the week; high for the season is 38 (ExStorminator in week 3); all time high is 45 by A Lambeau Leap (2012, week 14)

In the NFL Picks A Lambeau Leap, Jimmy’s Boys and Wrinkled & Green have the best record of the week at 9-5.  A Lambeau Leap increases his overall to 3 games over Timba’s Tigers and Wrinkled & Green.
