Week 10 Results

Only 4 regular season games now remaining and the playoff picture is starting to clear up for at least a few teams. Still a lot of possibilities left to play out, but there are some teams who have to feel pretty good about their chances to make the playoffs ---

  • ExStorminator is the closest thing to a lock to make the playoffs with a league best 8-2 record and a 4-game lead over all 3 of his division rivals with just 4 games left in the season. Absent a 4 game losing streak for ExSt coupled with a 4 game winning streak by one of his division rivals, ExSt is going to win the Beer Division. And even if the highly unlikely event that happens, it is almost a certainty that he would still make the playoffs as a wildcard.
  • Winning Colors and FloJoJo’s each with 7-3 records share the 2nd best record in the league and also share the top spot in the Bourbon Division. Although Jimmy’s Boys at 5-5 is not mathematically out of the division race, it is almost a certainty that the division winner will be either WC or FJR. And both of those teams are very much alive for a wildcard playoff spot if they don’t win the division. Probably one more win gets them in a very favorable position for at least a wildcard,
  • The Tequila Division is the most wide open with 3 teams in the hunt for that division title and the playoff spot that goes along with it. Currently Timba’s Tigers and A Lambeau Leap are tied at the top with 6-4 records but Ace Packer Backer is only one game back with his 5-5 record. Whichever of these 3 teams gets hot over the final 4 games will likely emerge as the division champ.
  • Looking at wildcard possibilities, it would appear that only Colts and The Bungals are out of contention as even with a 4-game winning streak at the end of the season, their current 2-8 records are not going to make the grade. One of the 3 wildcard playoff spots is very likely going to go to either Winning Colors or FloJoRo’s, whichever of those 2 teams fails to win the Beer Division. The other 2 wildcard playoff spots are pretty much up for grabs. A Lambeau Leap and Timba’s Tigers have a leg up for one of those spots as they sport the next best record of 6-4, but Ace Packer Backer and Jimmy’s Boys are both at 5-5 and very much in the mix. And don’t count out Risky, DaRifRaff or Wrinkled & Green who each currently sit at 4-6. If one of them gets hot over the last 4 weeks of the regular season, then their hope for a wildcard playoff spot is very much alive. Current Vegas odds for making the playoffs are as follows:
    • ExStorminator --- 100%
    • Winning Colors ---94%
    • FloJoRo’s --- 90%
    • A Lambeau Leap --- 70%
    • Timba’s Tigers --- 62%
    • Ace Packer Backer --- 48%
    • Jimmy’s Boys --- 43%
    • Risky --- 34%
    • DaRifRaff --- 32%
    • Wrinkled & Green --- 25%
    • The Bungals --- 1%
    • Colts ---1%

Congratulations to our week 11winners (listed in order of points scored: A Lambeau Leap, Ace Packer Backer, ExStorminator, DaRifRaff, Timba’s Tigers and FloJoRo’s. In the feature match of the week, ExStorminator and Winning Colors faced off with their league best records and ExSt emerged to now sport the league best record.

A Lambeau Leap gets his 1st high scorer award for the season with the 2nd best point total this year at 154 points. LL actually is now the highest scoring team in the league by a single point over Winning Colors, so guess he was due for a high scorer award. For the season, 8 of the 12 teams have now collected at least one high scorer award. FloJoRo’s has the lowest points by a winning team with a tie for the 2nd overall points (and played the other team with that same point total and edged out the win with a 12-7 tiebreaker advantage). Risky has the 3rd highest point total overall and easily the highest points for a losing team as he had the misfortune of playing the highest scorer for the week.

Winning Colors hits the 100% efficiency mark for the week but still not enough to get the win, while Jimmy’s Boys is at the bottom with his 65.6% mark. Year to date, Timba’s Tigers remains at the top at 91.8% but followed closely by Winning Colors with 91.6% and DaRifRaff at 91.1% as the only other teams above 90%. Wrinkled & Green remains at the bottom year-to-date at 78.3% and is the only team below the 80% mark.

This competed the 7th week of interdivisional play and the Tequila Division posts the best mark for the week at 3-1 followed by Bourbon at 2-2 and Beer at 1-3. But Beer still has the best cumulative record year to date at 15-13 followed by Bourbon at 14-14- and Tequila at 13-15.

No scoring records this past week, but A Lambeau Leap made a pretty good run at a couple --- his 154 points made a good run at the all time weekly points record of 167, and his RB getting 46 points approached the all time record of 52 points. No records are kept on this, but his total for 2 RB’s of 80 points had to be an all time high. There was one negative performance and as is most often the case, it was by a D/ST as FJR got –1 from his starter and was outscored by 23 points at the D/ST position in his match with Colts, but still somehow got the win on the tiebreaker. High scorer by position this past week and all time marks are as follows:

  • QB – 33 (Jimmy’s Boys) for the week --- high for the season is 40 (Timba’s Tigers in week 1 and Wrinkled & Green in week 9); all time high is 57 by Winning Colors (2013, week 1)
  • RB – 46 (A Lambeau Leap) for the week; this is also high for the season; all time high is 52 by The Bungals (2020, week 16)
  • WR – 18 (Risky) for the week; high for the season is 29 (Colts in week 2 and Risky in week 9); all time high is 41 by Jimmy’s Boys (2013, week 13)
  • TE – 18 (Winning Colors) for the week; high for the season is 30 (The Bungals in week 9); all time high is 32 by Da Bears (Mike Kirkham in 2014, week 8)
  • K – 15 (A Lambeau Leap) for the week; high for the season is 22 (Jimmy’s Boys in week 2); all time high is 30 by A Lambeau Leap (2012, week 15)
  • D/ST – 23 (Risky) for the week; high for the season is 38 (ExStorminator in week 3); all time high is 45 by A Lambeau Leap (2012, week 14)

In the NFL Picks Ace Packer Backer, Colts, Jimmy’s Boys, Wrinkled & Green and FloJoRo’s all had weekly best 10-4 marks. A Lambeau Leap remains on top for the season, but saw his lead shrink to only a single game over Wrinkled & Green with Colts and Timba’s Tigers 2 more games back.
