Week 11 Results

By The Commissioner Tue Nov 18 8:50pm CT

This past week closes out interdivision play. Now back to 3 final regular season games against division rivals and division titles and playoff berths still up for grabs. This last week of interdivisional play had Tequila Divisions posting a perfect 4-0 record while Beer and Bourbon Divisions both posted 1-3 marks. After the dust settled, Tequila Division had the best interdivision record at 17-15, followed by Beer Division at 16-16 and Bourbon Division at 15-17.

Back to divisional play for the final 3 weeks, and here is how the division races stand. There are still 8 teams with a chance (albeit really slim in some cases) to win their division. There are 64 possible scenarios of results over the next 3 weeks within each division, and a summary of the possible results is as follows:

  • Bourbon Division --- This is the most straight forward as far as possible results with only 2 teams still in the mix and ExStorminator dominating the possibilities. ExSt wins the division in 62 of the 64 possible scenarios (all 62 times with the best overall record). DaRifRaff wins the division in the other 2 scenarios if he can win out in the final 3 games and ExSt lose out in his final 3 games. ExSt and DRR would then end up tied for the best record in the division but DRR gets the division title by virtue of a better division record.
  • Beer Division --- 3 of the 4 teams still have a chance in this division, but Winning Colors is the heavy favorite and Jimmy’s Boys is holding on to a slim hope where he wins the division in 1 of the 64 possible scenarios. WC is division champ in 53 of the 64 possible scenarios (40 by virtue of best record, 2 on head to head and 11 on best division record). FloJoRo’s wins the division in 10 of the 64 scenarios (all off of best record). Jimmy’s Boys only hope is to win his final 3 games, have WC lose his final 3 and FJR win only 1 of his final 3 (obviously winning over WC). This results in a 3-way tie with best record and JB gets the nod in this case due to best head to head record among those 3 teams.
  • Tequila Division --- This is easily the most wide open race and also the one with the craziest possible results.  Timba’s Tigers wins the division in 25 of the 64 possible scenarios (20 based on best record and 5 on head to head) while A Lambeau Leap gets the nod in 20 of the 64 scenarios (all based on best record). Ace Packer Backer wins the division in 9 of the 64 scenarios (4 due to best record and 5 based on head to head --- where 2 of those 5 are 3-way ties). But that still leaves 10 scenarios unaccounted for --- 5 of those scenarios are ties between LL and TT, 3 are ties between LL and APB, and 2 are 3-way ties between LL, TT and APB. In all 10 of those scenarios, everything is still tied after looking at head to head and division records, so this would come down to head to head points scored or if still tied on that then on total points scored.

With 3 wildcard playoff spots up for grabs, the possible results there are a bit more complicated -- if that is possible after looking at Tequila Division possibilities. But Winning Colors and ExStorminator with league best 8-3 records would pretty much need a complete collapse coupled with some really unlikely other results for other teams to keep them from at least getting one of the wildcard playoff spots. FloJoRo’s, Timba’s Tigers and A Lambeau Leap then follow with the next best records at 7-4 and are well positioned to get at least a wildcard playoff spot. Ace Packer Backer is the 6th team with a winning record at 6-5 but has 2 teams just a game behind him and 2 other only one more game back. But APB has the advantage of a head to head win over each of those 4 teams so he has a tiebreaker advantage in his quest for a wildcard playoff spot. DaRifRaff and Jimmy’s Boys both have 5-6 records going into the final 3 weeks and with a hot finish could make still make a push for at least a wildcard playoff spot. Risky and Wrinkled & Green both sit at 4-7 and neither have a chance to win their division, but they still have a mathematical chance to get a wildcard but it takes a 3-0 finish to the year coupled with some collapses by a few other key teams.

Congratulations to our winners from last week (listed in order of points scored): Colts, Timba’s Tigers, DaRifRaff, Ace Packer Backer, Winning Colors and A Lambeau Leap.

Colts gets his 1st high scorer award for the season, making him the 9th team to have now collected at least one high scorer award this season. A Lambeau Leap has the lowest points by a winning team as he plays the only team he could have beaten last week getting the W with the 2nd lowest total points. For the 2nd straight week Risky is unlucky (especially so this past week) as he has the 2nd highest point total overall but plays the highest scoring team and ends up with the L. Risky now has the distinction of having the highest point total for a losing team 4 times this year and the lowest total for a winning team 3 times, so he is pretty much boom or bust this year.

Colts hits the 100% efficiency mark for the week to secure his high scorer award, while A Lambeau Leap is at the bottom with his 68.7% mark, but still enough to get the win. Year to date, DaRifRaff overtakes Timba’s Tigers at the top with his 91.6% rate, while Winning Colors takes 2nd place at 91.1% and TT slides to 3rd at 90.3%. These are still the only other teams above 90%. Wrinkled & Green remains at the bottom year-to-date at 79.2% and is the only team below the 80% mark.

No scoring records this past week, and no negative performances. High scorer by position this past week and all time marks are as follows:

  • QB – 46 (Timba’s Tigers) for the week --- this is also high for the season; all time high is 57 by Winning Colors (2013, week 1)
  • RB – 30 (Timba’s Tigers) for the week; high for the season is 46 (A Lambeau Leap in week 10); all time high is 52 by The Bungals (2020, week 16)
  • WR – 25 (Colts) for the week; high for the season is 29 (Colts in week 2 and Risky in week 9); all time high is 41 by Jimmy’s Boys (2013, week 13)
  • TE – 18 (ExStorminator) for the week; high for the season is 30 (The Bungals in week 9); all time high is 32 by Da Bears (Mike Kirkham in 2014, week 8)
  • K – 15 (A Lambeau Leap) for the week; high for the season is 22 (Jimmy’s Boys in week 2); all time high is 30 by A Lambeau Leap (2012, week 15)
  • D/ST – 21 (The Bungals) for the week; high for the season is 38 (ExStorminator in week 3); all time high is 45 by A Lambeau Leap (2012, week 14)

In the NFL Picks Wrinkled & Green, Risky and ExStorminator all had weekly best 12-3 marks. After being on top most of the season, A Lambeau Leap falls to 2nd place in the overall season standings now 2 games behind Wrinkled & Green. Colts is another game back and Timba’s Tigers is 1 more game behind Colts.
