After some sluggish performances in the early weeks, Week #5 in FFF saw high scores return, with 10 of our 12 teams topping 106 points or more. All the scoring led to some exciting matchups with some real nail biters. The Hammerheads and Scheme Team are the respective Division leaders right now, but they are closely followed by a pack of competitors.
WEEK #5 RESULTS:
ND COMEBACK TOPS DUTCHMEN: Patrick Mahomes (31.9) led ND to victory on Monday Night with an impressive performance, knocking Dutchmen from the perch of the 'B' Division. Both teams had all but one of their starters in double digits in this high scoring affair. Subpar games from Herbert and Henry did the Dmen in here as they suffer their second consecutive loss. ND ended a mini slump with their second-best game of the season.
SCHEME TEAM OUTGUN GENERALS: Another big shootout here, as Scheme Team had by far their best game of the season when they needed it most in topping Generals. Gmen had their second-best game of the season and now have scored 102 points or more in four straight. Baker and their star RB tandem (McCaffrey and Williams) led the way for Schemers. Gens had Tua's best game of the season and a monster day from Croskey-Merritt.
TROYSBOYS NIP XTREME ON MONDAY NIGHT: It was yet another heart-breaking loss for Xtreme (0.9, 0.4, 0.5 point differences) as TroysBoys got just enough from the two Travis' to edge Xmen on Monday Night. TBoys were led by Dak once again, while Justin Fields and RB Taylor led Xmen, who have scored over 113 points three weeks in a row with nothing to show for it.
HAMMERHEADS FLATTEN RAIDERS8: Hammerheads seem to have Raiders' number, as their two best games of the season have been against them. New pickups Darnold and Dowdle both had 30 plus games for Heads, who overcame a zero from TE Ertz. Raiders got a great game from Waddle but not much from anyone else here. Hammer lost two more players to injury this week.
BARON'S CORNER BESTS HONEYMOONERS: Baron had a nice win over Honeymooners to sweep their season series. Baron ended their two-game skid behind QB Allen and waiver pickups White and Barner. Honey had big game from Javonte Williams but sure missed Bijan. Both teams were weakened by Bye Week and injuries.
WHITE CITY DEVILS SHORT CIRCUIT TOASTER OVEN: White City took the season series from Toaster behind great games from WR Egbuka and TE Ferguson. Toaster had a great game from Chase, but Jameson Williams poor game hurt them here as they lost their second in a row.
WEEK #6 MATCHUPS:
DUTCHMEN VS. HAMMERHEADS: They have waited years for this matchup (Last regular season matchup was Week #10, 2021 which Dutchmen won). Dutchmen enter on a two-game slump in desperate need to keep pace in 'B' Division. Hammerheads sit alone atop 'A' Division but are decimated with injuries and need to rebuild their team each week. QB position could be the difference here.
GENERALS VS. BARON'S CORNER: Both teams have been scoring better each week of late despite mixed results in the W/L column. Chance for Baron to catch vulnerable Hammerheads in 'A' Division title chase.
SCHEME TEAM VS. XTREME: The best and worst records in FFF respectively, yet both teams are neck and neck in total points. Schemers on three game win streak. Bye Week hurts Xmen here.
ND VS. TROYSBOYS: Key 'B' Division game with both teams trying to keep up with Scheme Team. Both teams coming off of big Division wins last week. Two of top four FFF QB's square off in this one.
TOASTER OVEN VS. HONEYMOONERS: Rematch of Week #3 that saw Toaster get their only win of the season and was Honeymooners worst performance of the year so far. Both teams coming off of tough losses that saw them score a decent amount but were still defeated. Both need a win badly here.
RAIDERS8 VS. WHITE CITY DEVILS: White City Devils coming off of their best game of the season while Raiders coming off of their second worst performance. Week #3 saw Raiders win a close low scoring contest against Devils.
