The FFF games of Week #11 left much of the playoff picture unresolved. Scoring was down this week, and we only had a couple of close contests. With just three weeks to go in the Regular Season the playoff picture looks like this:
'A' Division: Hammerheads have a two-game lead over Raiders8 and Baron's Corner. Raiders have the easiest remaining schedule of the three, and Baron and Heads actually play one another the last week. Hammer has the tiebreakers in hand though.
'B' Division: This is tight. ND, Dutchmen and Scheme Team have identical records. ND-Dutchmen game this week will decide a lot. Teams have all split with each other to this point. ND has the better divisional record. Dutchmen have the easier remaining schedule. Anything is possible here.
6 Playoff spots: This is still open too with teams 4-9 separated by only 55 points.
WEEK #11 RESULTS:
SCHEME TEAM SPANKS DUTCHMEN: This one didn't live up to the billing as Dutchmen had their worst game of the season at a critical time. Scheme Team needed this win more and had a solid effort behind McCaffrey. Dmen had a fantastic game from Pickens, but outside of Gibbs, were let down by everyone else, particularly QB Herbert (4.1). Schemers have now split season series with Dutch and keep their division title hopes going. Loss ended Dmen's four game win streak. Maybe Dutchmen need more 'curiosity', but that is what killed the cat.
GENERALS SHORT CIRCUIT TOASTER OVEN: Despite a subpar game Generals managed to get a victory here over lifeless Toaster Oven. Gmen still have an outside shot at playoffs and rode Trey McBride to another win. Oven's new players were a disaster as they had their worst game of the season here, which followed their best game the week before.
ND POUNCES ON XTREME: ND had the highest score in FFF this week as they easily defeated Xtreme here. With Scheme Team bringing down Dutchmen ND finds itself right back in the middle of the 'B' Division race. ND's McMillan led a fairly balanced scoring attack, though they had a starter with a zero. Xmen had one of their worst games of the season after playing well of late, with only two starters in double digits. Every Xtreme opponent except one (TroysBoys, 99) has topped 109 points when they played.
BARON'S CORNER COMES BACK TO BEAT TROYSBOYS: Baron had a solid Monday Night performance from K Aubrey to propel them to a big victory over Troysboys and keep their 'A' Division title hopes alive. Baron's QB Allen had the best performance in FFF this season (51.8) to carry their team, with the rest of the Baron lineup not doing much. TroysBoys played well but needed more from Barkley and Brown to take this one. Victory ended three game losing streak for Baron.
HAMMERHEADS CRUISE OVER WHITE CITY DEVILS: The Hammerheads overcame pathetic games from their usual stars (Jackson and Jacobs) to emerge victorious over White City. Kittle, Myers, and Texan Defense led the way for Heads, who suffered two more injuries this week. Devils had a nice game from RB Cook but not much else in this one, including a starter with a zero.
HONEYMOONERS KNOCK OFF RAIDERS8: In a key 'A' Division game, the Honeymooners pair of Cowboys outdueled the Raiders' pair of Raiders on Monday Night to take the victory. Mooners were led by Bijan and had a nicely balanced attack. Raiders had another great game from TreVeyon but new acquisition Chase flopped. The loss hurts Raiders' division title chances. Honeymooners ended their three-game losing streak and Raiders ended their three-game win streak.
WEEK #12 MATCHUPS:
DUTCHMEN VS. ND: Game of the week. The schedule doesn't get any easier for defending champs as they now face their other 'B' Division co-leader, ND. ND won Week #5 matchup and with a win will hold the tiebreaker over Dutchmen. Teams are #1 (Dutchmen) and #2 (ND) in Points Standings. Both teams are hurt by Bye Week. Winning team will have at least a share of 'B' Division lead.
GENERALS VS. WHITE CITY DEVILS: Generals need lots of points to have a shot for last playoff spot, but they haven't topped 100 points since Week #7. Bye Week mostly affects players neither teams use this week. They only matchup this week that doesn't directly impact the respective division title races.
SCHEME TEAM VS. TOASTER OVEN: Scheme Team gets to play the team with the fewest points in FFF while their two 'B' Division co-leaders are battling each other. Schemers coming off one of their biggest wins of the season and could use the breather here. Spoiler Oven's few wins have all come against many of the top teams in FFF, so you never know.
XTREME VS. BARON'S CORNER: Teams are battling it out for last playoff spot. Baron also needs a win here to have a chance to catch Hammerheads for division title. Baron will go as far as QB Allen takes them. Matchup features top two high scorers in FFF this year: X's Taylor and Baron's Allen.
TROYSBOYS VS. RAIDERS8: Both teams fighting for a playoff spot and in need of points. Each team coming off a bad loss and needs to turn things around. Bye and possible loss of Ja'Marr hurts Raiders, who need a win to keep pace with Hammerheads for Division title.
HAMMERHEADS VS. HONEYMOONERS: Both teams coming off of key division wins and face off in a rematch of Week #9 contest, won by Hammerheads. Hammerheads need a win to stay ahead in division title race, while Honeymooners still battling for a playoff spot. Heads have been riding top K (Myers) and DEF (Houston) in FFF while continuing to suffer injuries to other key players.
