We head down the home stretch of the season

Week #13 in FFF saw more low scoring (only three teams over 100 points again) as the playoff picture has narrowed now.  We head into the last week of the season with one Division title and the last playoff spot still up for grabs.  Hammerheads and Dutchmen both lead their respective Divisions now, but only Hammerheads have technically clinched anything.

'A' Division:  Congratulations to the Hammerheads who backed into the 'A' Division title (as Tom Petty once sang, "Even the losers get lucky sometime").  They lead Honeymooners and Raiders8 by one game. If either of those two teams, or both, tie the Hammerheads for the Division title we would go to the Tiebreaker system.  The 1st Tiebreaker is Head-to-Head competition.  Hammerheads and Honeymooners have split, but both have swept Raiders8, which would knock out Raiders8.  Thus, Hammerheads and Honeymooners would go to the 2nd Tiebreaker, which is Division record, in which Hammerheads would have a one game advantage over Honeymooners, and thus Hammerheads would take the Division title.

'B' Division: Dutchmen have a one game lead over ND.  If they end up tied, both teams have split with each other, eliminating the 1st Tiebreaker.  The 2nd Tiebreaker is Division record, and ND has a one game advantage.  So if Dutchmen win their final game, they take the title.  If Dutchmen loses and ND wins, ND takes the title by virtue of the 2nd Tiebreaker.

Here are the Total Points Standings (with 10 points included for each win):

1)  DUTCHMEN:  1470.7 + 90 = 1560.7

2)  ND:  1365.4 + 80 = 1445.4

3)  TROYSBOYS:  1314.1 + 70 = 1384.1

4)  SCHEME TEAM:  1295.2 + 70 = 1365.2

5)  HAMMERHEADS:  1249.1 + 80 = 1329.1

6)  HONEYMOONERS:  1256.7 + 70 = 1326.7

7)  BARON'S CORNER:  1244.3 + 60 = 1304.3

8)  RAIDERS8:  1232.3 + 70 = 1302.3

9)  XTREME:  1263.9 + 30 = 1293.9

10)  GENERALS:  1218.4 + 50 = 1268.4

11)  TOASTER OVEN:  1197.9 + 60 = 1257.9

12)  WHITE CITY DEVILS:  1168.2 + 50 = 1218.2

So, for the last spot in the playoffs, teams #6 - #9 are separated by only 32.8 points, so whomever has the best week probably will take it.

Also, Dutchmen are only 31.3 points shy of topping their 2024 FFF record of 1592 points in a season.

WEEK #13 RESULTS:

DUTCHMEN CRUISE OVER WHITE CITY DEVILS:  Dutchmen won easily over their old nemesis, White City Devils, to maintain their grip on the 'B' Division lead.  Rashee Rice led the way for Dmen, who got a 'human' game from Gibbs but balanced scoring from most other key spots in his lineup.  White City suffered their third consecutive loss in grisly fashion, with only three players in double digits.

RAIDERS8 DEMOLISH GENERALS:  Raiders8 walloped the Generals, nearly tripling their score for the week as they fight to stay in playoff contention.  Raiders had their second-best game of the season, while Generals had the second worst game in FFF this season.  Raiders nearly had every starter in double digits, led by QB Love and TE Bowers.  Gmen had two starters with zero points, and their QB had 3.8, pretty much ending their playoff chances.

TROYSBOYS COME BACK TO BEST SCHEME TEAM:  Drake Maye had a solid Monday Night performance to lead TroysBoys to a big win over Scheme Team.  TBoys were led by resurgent AJ Brown and overcame poor RB play. Schemers ended any chance they had of taking Division title with two back-to-back clunkers.  Tua let Scheme down, and as things stand now these same teams would meet in the First Round of the playoffs.

HONEYMOONERS BEST XTREME:  Nice win for Honeymooners solidified their playoff spot for the moment and hurt Xtreme's chances at the same time.  Huge games from Bijan and CeeDee, their keepers, propelled Mooners to victory as they overcame a dreadful game from QB Darnold.  Xmen were hurt by their WR corps and a subpar game from superman Taylor.

ND SMACKS HAMMERHEADS:  ND kept their 'B' Division title hopes alive with this solid victory.  Hammerheads have been getting worse each week for four weeks now as MVP Lamar has basically disappeared.  ND had a monster game from QB Mahomes (40) to carry them to an easy win.  Heads keep shuffling their lineup as they continue to collapse like the Mets.

TOASTER OVEN FRIED BARON'S CORNER:  Toaster Oven had their second-best game of the season in a blowout over struggling Baron's Corner.  Toaster has victories over all the top teams in each division except Dutchmen.  Seattle defense led the way for Toaster who overcame a zero from their TE.  Baron has had his two worst games of the season back-to-back now as his 'A' Division title hopes are gone.

WEEK #14 MATCHUPS:

DUTCHMEN VS. GENERALS:  A win clinches the 'B' Division title for Dutchmen.  Dmen won easily in first matchup with Gmen in season opener.  Generals are coming off of their worst game of the season and their chances of making the playoffs now is remote at best.  Favorable player matchups for Dmen should make this an easy one for them.

SCHEME TEAM VS. XTREME:  Xtreme is actually ahead of Scheme Team in FFF Power Rankings despite their vastly different records.  Both teams struggling a lot of late. Xmen need lots of points to have a chance to make playoffs. Scheme without McCaffrey due to Bye.

ND VS. TROYSBOYS:  Huge game between playoff bound teams as ND needs a win to have any chance at 'B' Division title.  Both teams scoring well of late, so this should be an interesting one.  ND won big in their Week #6 matchup.  ND thinned a bit by Bye and will need to find a defense.

HAMMERHEADS VS. BARON'S CORNER:  Both teams floundering badly and have lost three of their last four games with poor point production.  Hammerheads had enough of a cushion to still make playoffs but Baron needs a big turn around here to salvage a once promising season.  Both teams QB dependent, and their star QB's have had some issues of late.  Heads nipped Baron in Week #3 squeaker, but Baron has the better player matchups this week as the Bye cripples Hammer.

TOASTER OVEN VS. RAIDERS8:  Both teams coming off of solid victories.  Raiders need as many points as possible as they fight for last playoff spot. Raiders won Week #4 matchup.  These teams made a recent trade that seems to have helped with their scoring.

HONEYMOONERS VS. WHITE CITY DEVILS:  Mooners playing well and have risen up the charts into playoff contention.  Devils are going in the opposite direction and will need a big week to avoid finishing last in FFF for second year in a row.  Honey has won three in a row, and Devils have lost three in a row.
