Week 8 Preview
“And with that, folks… welcome to BYEMAGGEDON!”
Chris Berman would say it best — this is the week where rosters look like Swiss cheese, benches are bare, and fantasy managers across The Big League are clinging to hope, prayer, and waiver-wire wonders. Week 7 was pure chaos — blowouts, heartbreakers, and a whole lotta movement in the standings.
The RockStars, Yinzers, and Arsenal all climbed back toward the summit. The MadDawgz finally got some bark back in their bite. And others? Let’s just say they were left on Bye-land.
Now comes Week 8, the most unpredictable, depth-testing, sanity-checking week of the TBL season — where backup QBs and no-name linebackers could decide playoff destinies. Strap in — we’ve got seven matchups that matter.
Two proud franchises sitting at .500 square off in a battle for breathing room in the crowded middle tier. The Believers are coming off a stabilizing win, while the Kamikazes are flying into turbulence with Patrick Mahomes facing the Monday-night spotlight.
QB
Believers: Joe Flacco
Kamikazes: Patrick Mahomes
Edge: Kamikazes
RBs
Believers: Bijan Robinson
Kamikazes: Christian McCaffrey, Josh Jacobs
Edge: Kamikazes
WRs
Believers: Justin Jefferson, Keenan Allen, Drake London, George Pickens
Kamikazes: Tee Higgins, Chris Olave

Kamikazes: Dalton Kincaid
Edge: Even
Defense/IDPs
Believers: Buckner & Franklin leading the charge
Kamikazes: Micah Parsons & T.J. Edwards anchoring
Edge: Kamikazes
Mahomes’ heroics could keep it close, but Jefferson and Allen should torch thin secondaries in the Byemaggedon haze.
Prediction: Believers 338 – Kamikazes 314
What’s at Stake: Winner keeps playoff pace; loser sinks into the traffic jam of mediocrity.
Arsenal’s arsenal is fully loaded — Josh Allen and Ladd McConkey have been a lethal combo, while the Mercenaries are searching for life after six straight defeats.
QB: Allen vs Cousins → Edge Arsenal
RBs: Dobbins vs Pollard/Hubbard → Edge Arsenal
WRs: Smith/McConkey vs Gadsden/Legette → Edge Arsenal
TE: Kittle vs Ertz → Edge Arsenal
Defense: Werner & Pitre vs Rozeboom & Sainristil → Edge Arsenal
The Mercs’ best hope is another Oronde Gadsden breakout, but Arsenal looks too balanced.
Prediction: Arsenal 362 – Mercenaries 271
What’s at Stake: Arsenal can seize co-lead in the standings; Mercs teeter on mathematical elimination.
Two 4-3 contenders trying to stay relevant amid Byemaggedon casualties. The Goats’ core of Lamb and Chase faces a Dealers unit led by the steady Jordan Love and the explosive Breece Hall.
QB: Love vs Wentz → Edge Dealers
RBs: Achane/Hall vs Kamara/White → Edge Dealers
WRs: Waddle/Boutte vs Lamb/Chase → Edge Goats
TE: Engram vs Otton → Edge Dealers
Defense: Edmunds & Bolton vs Wagner & Al-Shaair → Edge Goats
If Achane returns to early-season form, the Dealers deal a knockout. If Lamb and Chase go nuclear, the Goats will gloat.
Prediction: Goats 329 – Dealers 323
What’s at Stake: A playoff-tier separator in a wide-open middle class.
The Dawgz snapped out of their funk behind Kimani Vidal’s 117-yard statement game. The Conquerors limp into Byemaggedon thin at WR but with a trio of bulldog backs ready to grind.
QB: Cam Ward vs Daniel Jones → Edge MadDawgz
RBs: Pacheco/Warren vs Vidal/Williams → Edge MadDawgz
WRs: Brown/Doubs vs Mooney/Addison → Edge MadDawgz
TE: Tyler Warren vs Mason Taylor → Edge Even
Defense: Highsmith & Hooker vs Garrett & Brown → Edge MadDawgz
The Dawgz are suddenly snarling — and they smell blood.
Prediction: MadDawgz 354 – Conquerors 288
What’s at Stake: Winner claws back to .500 and keeps faint playoff hopes alive.
The royal rumble of Week 8. The Monarchs ride a four-game win streak behind Bo Nix and Derrick Henry, while the Rebels lean on grit, gadgetry, and the dynamic Zay Flowers/Rome Odunze duo to challenge the throne.
QB: Nix vs Dart → Edge Monarchs
RBs: Henry/Barkley vs Cook/Allgeier → Edge Monarchs
WRs: McLaurin/Brown vs Odunze/Flowers → Edge Rebels
TE: Kelce vs Schultz/Pitts → Edge Monarchs
Defense: Brooks & Queen vs Landry & Campbell → Edge Monarchs
The Rebels have heart, but King Nix’s court is too deep for Byemaggedon to dethrone.
Prediction: Monarchs 348 – Rebels 297
What’s at Stake: Monarchs could grab the overall #1 seed; Rebels fighting to stay in playoff seeding range.
The Yinzers are quietly surging, fueled by Jonathan Taylor’s resurgence and Drake Maye’s composure. The Warlords? Still searching for their first meaningful victory in over a month — and doing it with half a roster thanks to the bye-pocalypse.
QB: Maye vs Mac Jones → Edge Yinzers
RBs: Taylor vs Gainwell → Edge Yinzers
WRs: Diggs/Moore/Pittman vs Rice/Jennings → Edge Yinzers
TE: Noah Gray vs Harold Fannin → Edge Warlords (slight)
Defense: Tranquill & Latu vs Schwesinger & Rodgers → Edge Even
This one could get ugly fast — Maye and Taylor feast while the Warlords fade.
Prediction: Yinzers 356 – Warlords 262
What’s at Stake: Yinzers eyeing division control; Warlords one loss from spoiler-only territory.
It’s Byemaggedon’s headline act: The RockStars’ loaded defense versus Justin Herbert’s solo show for the Atoms. Herbert’s 57-point eruption last week was electric, but can he encore without his usual cast?
QB: Prescott vs Herbert → Edge Atoms
RBs: Swift/Judkins vs Chubb/Tucker → Edge RockStars
WRs: Metcalf/Hopkins vs Mims/Douglas → Edge RockStars
TE: Freiermuth vs Kraft → Edge Even
Defense: Sherwood & Cedric Gray vs Bates & Luvu → Edge RockStars
The Atoms have heart, but the RockStars have harmony — and more instruments left after the bye storm.
Prediction: RockStars 341 – Atoms 294
What’s at Stake: RockStars can hit 6-2 and lock in contender status; Atoms fighting for dignity and draft position.
Byemaggedon doesn’t just test rosters — it tests management. This week’s winners will be the ones who saw it coming, stocked depth, and trusted their scouting. The Big League’s stretch run starts now… and by Week 9, we’ll know who thrived in the chaos and who was swallowed whole.
“Nobody circles the Byemaggedon wagons like The Big League!”
