I just finished up a convention in Fort Walton Beach Florida over the weekend. I remember in my 20s me and my late friend Joe driving to Wrestlemanias around the US. It was no problem for me to drive 12 to 15 hours in one day smoking blunt after blunt. The trip to Florida took around nine hours, and it literally killed me, well killed my leg at least. I guess I'm no spring chicken anymore. Anyways, as I'm driving back, I'm trying to think of a subject to talk about in this week's article. I figured I could bitch and moan about how stupid people drive or the amount of traffic and road closures we encountered on our way up to Florida, but as I was in thought my late animals started going through my head. Nothing in particular just random good moments with them. They pop up in my mind from time to time and it's always nice to think about the good moments with them. This morning I still wasn't completely sure what to talk about but after speaking to Jason (Mr. Romosexual) knew I had to talk about this.
The above photo is Jason's dog Abby (Or Abbysexual if you will) . I met her about seven years ago when I was invited to Jason's house to watch my team get its ass kicked against him in the fantasy championship in his league. Good Times. Abby is the perfect guard dog, but great with children. As soon as she saw me, she starts barking loudly, then, when she gets up to you, she'll sniff you and then jump on you and start loving you. Bark, Sniff, Love. The perfect family dog. I always enjoyed hanging out with her when I was over there. I finally got to see her again a couple of years ago when I went to go help Jason move some furniture up the stairs. She was 13 but not much changed. Bark, Sniff, Love. So I was pretty bummed out to hear that she passed away earlier this year at the age of 15. Losing an animal you spent most of their life with is never easy so I can only imagine how Jason felt. It's almost impossible to fill that void, which is why I haven't been able to get another dog to this day. Every pet owner copes differently, but I hope Jason is doing OK and I'm glad he was able to get 15 years with her. That's a lot of memories. So Jason, I raise my glass of cheap fireball to Abby. RIP old girl.
OK, onto fantasy foosball
K-Express - Kevin had a little setback in week 9 but it's been more good than bad for him the last few weeks. Best part is he has secured a playoff spot and is only one victory point away from locking up the north division.
Romosexuals - After three really good weeks, Jason finally came crashing down with a dud of a score last week. Even with the crappy week, he still secured a playoff spot. The division crown is still up for grabs though, as I am still lurking in the shadows, trying to make life difficult.
HitSquad - Similar to Jason, Josh had been killing it the last few weeks, and looked like he might overtake the division, but he also had a bad week which set him back a little bit. Unfortunately, for Josh, the Central division and 7 seed is pretty tight right now so nothing is guaranteed.
Herman C - The last few weeks for Herman have been a mixed bag. He's only lost one game during that stretch, but his scoring has been average to low. He still has a four victory point lead over Josh for the division crown so hopefully he can turn the scoring around the next few weeks. An eight victory point swing secures him a playoff spot.
Prestige Worldwide - Kelly has been pretty average the last few weeks, splitting his games and scoring a little over 180 points a game. He has yet to score 200 points all season. That's not gonna win you championships but right now it's enough to maintain that second division lead by six victory points over Eric.
Kaep Killaz - Goose also has yet to eclipse 200 points but he's come close a couple of times and he has won both games when he does. He took a double loss last week, but his scoring the last two weeks is good enough for an eight seed if it comes down to it. Plus, he's very much alive for the seven seed trailing Travis by for victory points.
Mario Luigis - Two good weeks has me 2 victory points away from clinching a playoff spot. Plus, the south division is still within reach because Jason lost both his games last week.
That Asian Guy - The defending champ is in unfamiliar territory right now. Sure in the past he's been on the outside of the playoffs during this time but usually he's making a run. He has still yet to eclipse 200 points this season. He's averaging just a little over 160 points the last three weeks and hasn't scored 190 points since week three. But if history tells me anything, don't ever count Eric out.
Dollmaker - India also has failed to score 200 points this season. She's averaged just a hair over 170 points the last three games and has only one win to show for it. She's one victory point away from division elimination and trails the seven seed by 10. The eight seed is the most likely scenario for her.
Bounty Balls - It's been a tough season for Brandon. He only has one win since week four and is officially eliminated from division contention. Similar to India the eight seed is his only chance
Alief Gamblers - it's been a season to forget for Billy as he is the only team that has failed to put up double digit victory points. He got officially eliminated from the division and 7 seed last week. Bring on the eight seed.
OnionGrass - Week 10 is just what Travis needed after the low scoring week 9. Not only that, but he now is the seven seed leading Eric by three victory points. He's also definitely alive in the central as he trails, Josh by five victory points.
Playoff picture - If the playoffs started today.
Seed 1 - Kevin
Seed 2 - Jason
Seed 3 - Herman
Seed 4 - Josh
Seed 5 - Andrew
Seed 6 - Kelly
Seed 7- Travis
For the 8 seed just for fun, I added up the total score for the last two weeks on the remaining teams
Seed 8 - Goose
