WHOOP!
Inspired by the beautiful vintage uniforms worn by Tampa and Seattle on Sunday, the Monday Morning Recap is going throwback as well. Here’s Chris Berman! Take it away Boom!
We begin in New York, where the once-proud Jeffs try to avoid starting 0-5 for the first time in franchise history. But the Houston Dixons had other ideas. Dak Prescott threw for 4 TD’s and Rico Suave Dowdle came off the Panthers bench to run for 200 yards and a score. DIXONS 83, JEFFS 38.5
We move to Patlanta, where the Buzzsaw known as the Lou Orleans Saints continues to cut their opponents down to size. It doesn’t matter if it’s Gray or Trevor, a baby could run this stacked team right now. Lou is smiling down from above as his squad improves to a perfect 5-0 in the AWFFL.
LOU ORLEANS 87, PATLANTA 66.5
To our nation’s capital, where things were looking bleak for the 1-3 Washington Commandovichs. The rookie running backs were held scoreless once again and Jayden Daniels could only muster 6 points in his return from the IR. BUT NOBODY CIRCLES THE WAGONS LIKE THE WASHINGTON COMMANDOVICHS. Matt receivers explode for 66 points in the late window and tack on 18 points from Ka’imi Scarborough Fairbairn and it all adds up to a season-saving win.
COMMANDOVICHS 99.5, RORYOPOLIS 93
We go to the West Coast, where the Chadgers are still in search of their first win of the year. Sam I Am Darnold did all he could, throwing for 341 yards and 4 TD’s to give Chad some hope and a slim half-point lead heading into Monday. But the Broncbos still have Mahomes and Kelce left to play, so you can expect the Chadgers to drop like a new Taylor Swift album.
CHADGERS 54.5, BRONCBOS 54 (for now)
In Tampa Bay, the throwback mentality was in the air as Seattle Seahanks put together a vintage performance against the Douganeers. The Seahanks got points all up and down the lineup. Hank even broke out the Mental Floss shirt while Doug could only say “Fer cryin’ out loud”. Three straight wins, Seahanks improve to 3-2.
SEAHANKS 88, DOUGANEERS 48.5
And we end up in Minnesota, where two of the league’s top teams squared off with the Mikings and Kansas Smitty. Mike got double-digit points from Jalen Hurts So Good, Jamhyroquai Gibbs and Puka Nacua (good luck finding wordplay with that name) to knock off Brent and and go to 4-1. Brent drops to 3-2.
MIKINGS 75.5, KANSAS SMITTY 34
