Finally!! The Preseason Power Rankings are here! It’s important to take these seriously! AS ALWAYS, 100% accurate 50% of the time! If you receive good news here, time to celebrate. If the news isn’t so good, or terrible, time to go cry in the corner and wait till next year. Did you do well, or did you blow it? The rankings are here to inform you. In reverse order.
#12 Dixons Are they really this bad? The rankings formula wasn’t kind. It was like Rob showed up in the 5th round to get this team. But here’s what I like. Prescott and Lamb were just sending the Mikings to the championship (and almost winning) 2 years ago. And Joe Mixon was at times the best back in the AWFFL last year. Zay Flowers is going to take a larger role in an already great Baltimore offense.
#11 Chadgers The next 4 teams were pretty even, however Chad was at the bottom. The Burrow trade was a good one for Chad. If he and Tee Higgins do what they did last year Chad is likely in the playoffs. That will be a TON of points. But 43 TDs, 2 rushing and 5000 yards is tough to duplicate. (just ask anyone with Patrick Mahomes the last few years) Receivers beyond Higgins are thin, Charbonnet is not a starter, and Rookie Kaleb Johnson is a Steeler. And the Steelers haven’t had an offense in 6 years.
#10 Kansas Smitty Bo Nix may be a bit underrated. Especially for our league. 29 TDs last year and 4 rushing. Those are impressive numbers. The last Bear to toss 29 TDs? Eric Kramer in 1995. He has Kittle, Devonta Smith, plus ole (and Old) Derrick Henry, who is coming off a 1900 yard 18 TD season. Can he get even close to that again? If Nix can duplicate or improve and Henry can be anywhere near 2024 numbers Brent will likely be in the playoffs.
#9 Patlanta Any team with Tyreek Hill and Devante Adams should be ok right? Those are VERY high profile names in those roster spots. At their best? First pick in the draft players. James Cook was absolutely stellar last year with 18 TDs and 1000+ yards and Goff had a career year for the Lions. If the stars align and these guys all play to their potential, look out. Pat will be competing for a first back-to-back since Ross did it in 1997
