Strange Magic

It's only week two and the injury bug has become an epidemic!  AJ Brown, Deebo, JJ, Mixon, Pacheco, Kupp.....The hits keep coming!  These circumstances cause Fantasy Managers to become Magicians!  Pulling rabbits out of the Waiver Wire!  Enchanting The Free Agency, casting spells to conjure the hidden gem to save their already wounded season. And while this injury virus spreads like lightning, we here at the UFFL may have a Sorcerer Supreme in our midsts!

Despite losing not one, but two QBs in our Superflex league as well as a WR and a RB already on the IR, Coach Reeves of the Wolverines Football Team stands at 2-0!  How he continues to win despite the odds against him is Avengers worthy!  Did he have clairvoyance on draft day, when he drafted three QBs early?  Is his "Magic Touch" mesmerizing his opponents lineups?  Has he made a pact with the same Demon, Jamison did, the one year that clown got his name etched on The Plaque?  Whatever he's been doing Coach Reeves and The WFT have yet to stumble no matter the odds.  Strange Magic, indeed.

Let us leave the Occult for a second and get to the week 2 wrap up!

NFC Game Of The Week:

Dogs Of War-280     /     Da Boyz-274

In the tightest game of the week in the Nitro, decided by a mere SIX points, Coach Elder squeaked out a win to stop from falling to 0-2!  With 54 from James "Let him" Cook and 49 from the Houston "Coleman has a problem" Texans defense The DOW managed to right the ship!  Coach Coleman did all he could with 82 from Kyler Murray who I think put on contacts on so he could see Harrison Junior wide open this week!   Nico Collins added in 60 and DAB gave it a valiant effort but, Coleman's ship is headed in the opposite direction still searching for the first win of the season.

Dogs Of War 1-1     /     Da Boyz 0-2

NFC WOODSHED GAME(S) OF THE WEEK!

Outlaws-291     /     Warriors-178     Chaos-361     /      LumberJacks-248

In a UNIQUE turn of events, or maybe Sorcerer Supreme Reeves was messing with the fabric of UFFL time and space, But regardless we have a TIE for the WOODSHED! Unless my math is off (The best public schools Brooklyn could generate at work) both The Warriors and The LumberJacks were drug to a loss by a twin total of 113 POINTS!!!!

To give credit where credit is due the Champion Outlaws curb stomped The Warriors and Chaos slapped the crap out of the L-Jacks.  No surprise both Coach Taylor and Coach Boxley sit now at 2-0.  Coaches T and Edwin fall to 1-1 respectively.  Both WoodShed victims will get credit toward WoodShed King at the end of the regular season.

Strange season alright.....

UFC Game Of The Week:

Smashmouths-258     /      Kingsmen-236

The closest game in The United this week was a showdown between two 1-0 teams.  22 points decided this game and it wasn't finalized till Monday Night.  Coach Rivera came out for blood with 45 from The Terminator, J. Connor and added 37 from CD "Dallas got roasted" Lamb, but the Queen summoned 54 from James "Captain" Cook and 42 from Deebo (before the injury)and shouted off with their heads!  The Kingsmen fell but remain in the hunt in the Omega.

Smashmouths 2-0     /     Kingsmen 1-1

UFC WOODSHED GAME OF THE WEEK:

Moonshiners-326     /     The Chop-220

Coach Holderfield showed no mercy to Coach Wash by dragging The Chop to the 'Shed with a 106 point beat down!  The Shiners whallopped The Chop when the Devon Achane Express rolled over them for 64 and Malik "Like a Good" Nabers piled on 60 to send then reeling into the UFC Shed with a quickness.  Wash tried to fight back with 57 from JK (Just Joking) Dobbins and Breece Hall Pass' 49, but it was not merely enough!  Both teams sit at 1-1 as the season is just warming up!

Moonshiners 1-1     /     The Chop 1-1

Well the epidemic of Injuries continues.  Does one just throw up their hands and cry?  Or do they do like our Magic Man, Coach Reeves, and pull a rabbit out of our hats and continue to win?  RULE 76: No excuses, play like a Champion!

Good Luck to all on the Waiver Wire and next week.  Remember there are two MNF games this week for some odd reason.

As always, Aim High!
