What a pain in the a.......
So after I changed the rules to accommodate kickers kicking FG's longer than 65 yards, apparently something funky happened with the scoring retroactively. When looking at the standings, Spongeworthy was showing as 0-9, even though I knew they won a game earlier in the season.
I contacted RTSports to see what might of happened because the Week 4 scoreboard had changed, now showing Spongeworthy outside the top 6. It didn't really make sense since back in Week 4 there were no 66-yard or longer FG's. RTSports noticed that the scoring change I made in the system apparently had assigned points to the ST/DEF also for kicking points. They fixed the error in the scoring and problem solved, Spongeworthy got their win back (and The Muffin Tops their loss).
All good now? Not exactly. The temporary scoring issue also affected Week 9. Originally I thought Downtown had missed out on a win by 0.2 points. BUT, once the adjustments were made, now Downtown has a win in Week 9. BUT now Vandelay has a loss and had they known they were on the outside, they would have used an additional mulligan to guarantee a win.
So in conclusion, the standings are now correct. The scoring will not be an issue going forward even if there is an 83-yard FG. BUT, if Vandelay misses the playoffs because of the scoring snafu (and only because of it) we will expand the playoffs to 8 teams and they will be in.
Stupid kickers.......
