If the playoffs began this week...
With each week, the playoff picture becomes more and more clear. Because there are teams that have yet to play one another, I will reserve the right (at this point) to be wrong about certain placements. If that is the case, I am sorry... but all will be revealed in the coming final weeks.
The Baggers are the clear #1 with the single best record of 6-3 and are looking at the first-round bye.
The Doves (5-4) hold the head to head tie breakers over the Wombats (5-4) to claim the lead in the United Division and the Sea Monkeys (5-4) to claim the #2 seed. The Sea Monkeys hold the head to head tie breaker over the Gamblers (5-4) to claim the lead in the World Division.
Here is where it gets a little murky. The Smash (5-4) have lost to the Phoenix (5-4), the Gamblers, and the Wombats... so that knocks them out of the top 6. The Gamblers have beaten the Phoenix but have yet to play the Wombats. The Phoenix are playing the Wombats this week. The Gamblers and Phoenix are both 2-2 in their respective divisions while the Wombats are 1-3. As a result, I have dropped the Wombats into the #6 seed.
The points position is always fun. Remember... wins and losses play no part in the points position, so even though the Smash are 5-4, they may not qualify for the final playoff spot. Right now there is a tight race for the #7 seed with the Underdogs leading the way with 713 points... but the Brute Squad are only 3 points behind, the Smash are 9 points behind, and the Chaos are still alive while trailing by only 61.
